I just really hope Nintendo allows the use of custom images this time but I doubt it… without them really hinders getting accurate created wrestlers an arenas and therefore really takes away a lot of replay value

Thanks Liam, after further digging I just found that out, I was always under the assumption the whole cast was replaced after 4kids lost the localization rights. But apparently somehow he was one of the only ones if not the only that got to stick around… somehow 🤷
So my mistake, he actually WAS the ORIGINAL and ONLY English voice for Gary so he was in fact part of all of our childhoods to whoever spent any time watching the Pokémon anime English dub and his voice actually WAS in Pokémon Puzzle League N64! Gary Oak was an important and iconic character in the series with a memorable voice! However the original James and Professor Oak were the best, not to discredit his work. It’s just I remember deciding to watch the anime several years after I had last watched it as a kid and being extremely disappointed to hear all the new voices and it just wasn’t the same as watching the classic episodes with the voices I remember. But it is really cool that he really was Gary for the long haul and wish it had been the same for the rest of the OG cast. But anyway I digress and sorry for the long ramblings. The comments here should be about looking at all the great he did do, not bringing up things he didn’t and had no control over. So again RIP, my good man, you brought happiness to many children!
“Gary, Gary! He’s our man, if he can’t do it, no one can!”

Just for clarification I looked into it and this is the voice actor of these characters from 2006-onward not the original that many of us grew up with before that which included the first 8 seasons and movies( or around that) and from videogames such as the original Pokémon snap and Pokémon Puzzle League on N64. Since that is the time period I grew up with this man was not “my” James, Oak, etc… However it is still a sad day for this man’s many fans as several other generations of Pokémon fans DID grow up with this man’s voice and are ONLY familiar with his iterations which actually did have a much longer tenure than the original voice cast. RIP
