When that C64 game is IK, then yeah. Like many I felt the C64 games were overpriced, but they've had work done on them, so the price hike is just.
But when games like Impossible Mission give 6 hours of play, games like LW should be able to as well.
All I want is no flash games that can be played free online (And even worse on your Wii) and games on a par of what we get on the XBL:A and PSN. That's really not asking much, is it?
Look at Cloning Clyde, it's a quirky unique platformer that takes about 3 hours to beat, but it's got online and offline 4 player co-op and vs and costs less than LW. I won't go through the extensive XBL:A and PSN collections, but for less cash I can get better, is my point.
And... XBL:A has demo's for every game. PSN has a few. If WW had demo's, then it'd be fine, because people could see if it really is worth paying $10/£7.50 for. But when fans say that it isn't, we have problems...
I'm still glad I went ahead and got it, because as I said I really enjoyed the experience while it lasted, but at the same time I can no longer honestly say that $10 was the right price for this game. If each installment of the game is going to be as short, it seems like it'd be better priced in $5 "episodic" increments. Here's hoping that the sequel is either longer, or cheaper.
Hang on, that's a point, speaking of co-op, you guys say this has 2 player support, but not once in the review does it mention this. What is the 2p? I'm gonna need to know for Friday.
I wish I had that time. I just think when you can buy OOT, or SM64, or MK 64 etc... Or 2 great NES/C64/SMS games for the same price, I don't see WW as good value for money when compared to the VC.
Especially DYC as it can be played on your Wii for free (I've been playing it today).
But everyone's different. You guys like the looks/sounds of it, I don't. It doesn't mean it's a bad game/service, it's just to pricey for what you're getting IMO.
I'd snap LW up for 500 and if FFCCMLAAK was 2,000 complete instead of 4,000 at the mo with more cost being added later, I'd get that as well. And PoP for 300 would be great too.
But Corbie, when that 2 hour movie is say... Star Wars IV, V or VI (2:20 I know, but LW is 3) then I think I've watched them more times than I'd ever replay this style of game. I've never found games like this replayable simply because it's never going to be that hard that everytime you do it is a challenge. And once you've solved a puzzle, there's less fun just remembering its answer.
It's like Another/Trace Memory. Brill game, but really short and unreplayable. Had I not been able to return it for full cash back (U.K thing that we could do) then I'd have never bought it. And LW strikes me as a returner. Infact, every WW game out so far does too.
With the exception of FFCCMLAAK, which is a win the lottery game to me.
And when the PS3, NDS and VC can offer me both fun, difficulty and length, it makes me not want to bother with WW.
That's bloody outrageous, they're just praying on people who have say... 300 points left. Whack all that together for 1,000 and I'd think about it, but the game would also have to be 1,000. And for it to be such small blockage, you just know that it's all in the game already.
All these guys are gutted about not getting a job, and all I had to do was ask about Mods, lol.
Totally different job, but it still makes you feel nice and warm inside
I'm looking forward to the new site, I want to see who the reviewers are, read the reviews, condense and Pod Cast them??? (Yeah, need to know what's happening with that actually, are they covering WW or are we?) And most importantly, find out my powers and how to use them
That's ok, I was just worried that WiiWareWorld meant no more VCR updates
I'd have applied for a job, but I want WiiWareWorld to be successful, lol. And unfortunately my written reviews, while they were well received, they were, long... My Castlevania DOS review was over 6 A4 pages long. Plus, I'd never be able to score Dr. M anything higher than a 0, lol.
Never liked the game, always felt inferior to Tetris to me.
On the subject of the forum, I fail to see why you guys would need to make a new one, because the one Divine runs is mint and could just as easily be expanded to add more WiiWare forums.
Maybe getting him to change the name though, so that people searching for Wii Ware forums could find the VCF too.
My only critacism is, you guys still haven't fully introduced everything you said the VCR would have, so what's happening with that?
Because I really want to be able to post a link to all my games and the ratings I've given them, as well as being able to rate games without them being classed as owned by me (Like ZAMN, which I don't own on the VC, but I'd still like to give it a 5).
FF has about 2,500 points worth of content already out in Japan, it's why I don't want it. Spending £100+ on Obliv annoyed me, this will just really **** me off.
I just thought I'd mention it because the slowness put me off, so incase it's put others off... It's actually pretty fast It faster than a few VC SHMUPS.
Well after recording the Pod Cast, I'd really made myself want this. It's pretty damn good. Although Damo/Dazza/Drake, I'd try and find better youtube footage, I have no idea why, but that video plays sooooooo much slower than my game.
Adamant, yep, we have some brill shooters
Anyone who's interested, I've video reviewed this, as well as all of my other 147 VC games
Not a bad game, although I must be thick, because I'm finding the interface difficult to get to grips with. Then again, I hadn't slept in 36 hours and I hadn't read the operations guide properly, lol.
Kaeru, no you don't get infinte credits... Technically that is. How it works is, that the game lets you save when you run out of credits and when you load it back up you get full credits again.
Short, it's pretty easy, but there are multiple difficulties
While the art looks funny, Damo said that the gameplay won't set your world on fire. And that Blade fans would be dissapointed. So I think I'd rather just wait for Parodier.
Of course if Wiiware turns out to be awful, I might get this to wipe my points out instead
IMO the PSP version was awful, I really hated it. But after the positivity that this version was getting, I decided to get it. And it's SOOOOOOOO! Much better

Kawai, read the Parodier review.
Re: EU VC Releases - 16th May - Third Hanabi Festival Week
Great SHMUP week, love both titles
Re: Review: LostWinds
Thanks, I'll add it to the cast script now

Re: Review: Defend Your Castle
I've played the flash version and I really wouldn't class DYC as a shooter.

Re: Review: LostWinds
Good review, again though, not for me (The game).
Re: Review: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King
Is it true that for 1,500 points, you're only getting 1 of the 4 races? Meaning 1 quarter of the game?
Good review though, not for me (The game), but good review
Re: European WiiWare Lineup Revealed
2 that I'm after. Toki and Star. So I'm happy with that
Re: North American WiiWare launch games
I'm with NESgamer and Faithful Dragon, at least the EU launch will have 2 that I'm after...
Dr. Mario.
Star Soldier R.
Toki Tori.
Final Fantasy.
Lostwinds.
Pirates.
T.V Show King.
& PoP.
Re: Welcome to WiiWare World!
Nice site
Re: Introducing WiiWare World
Sounds good D-man
Still though, I'll need to know for script writing purposes, so if you could find out for me, that'd be great
Oh, and I'll plug it in my next VC vids

Thanks bud
Panda's gonna kill you though, we've only just redone the credits for to add the Pod Cast, lol.
Re: Introducing WiiWare World - Reviewers Wanted
This site gonna need Mods?
Re: Metal Slug
6 is Arcade and Anthology only. Hopefully 6 and 7 will get Wii Wared though
BTW, ever play Metal Slug Advance? Terrible game
Re: EU VC Releases - 9th May - Metal Slug and More Imports
I'm still crying for Gaiden II and III. My only hope is that they're surprise Hanabi games.
Re: Metal Slug
ICE
Say what? Why didn't anyons tell me that?

Re: Puyo Puyo 2: Tsuu
I'm so messed up when it comes to these. Hate Mean Bean, hate PPFever, loved the MK one (That's also in Mortal Kombat DS), love this once.
WTH?!
Mint game, 4 stars easily
Re: Metal Slug
Price wise, maybe, fun wise, depends on if you like the most retarded control setups ever with no classic controller support.
Re: Metal Slug
Kaeru, no you don't get infinte credits... Technically that is. How it works is, that the game lets you save when you run out of credits and when you load it back up you get full credits again.

No probs Slang
Re: EU VC Releases - 9th May - Metal Slug and More Imports
Would've rather had Parodier and Gley over Puyo and Break in all honesty.
Re: EU VC Releases - 9th May - Metal Slug and More Imports
Ah Metal Slug, how I missed you

Re: Metal Slug
Erm, no idea, no the blood is always on, yes you can change difficulty and lives, no idea, sounds the same as always to me.
Mint game, love it, love it, LOVE IT! Just beat it in co-op with Panda, had a blast, can't wait to do it again
Re: New name for Dr. Mario WiiWare
I don't. Just Tetris. Never liked Dr. M. Bores the hell out of me.
Re: GameLoft Brings More to WiiWare
Why pay £1 for really poor games, when you can pay upwsrds of £3?
Anyone else getting sick at Nintendo's lack of quality control?
By the end of 08 we'll have 1,000 games rated 1 or less from metacritic.
Re: New name for Dr. Mario WiiWare
I'd rather have Tetris.
Re: Ubisoft Brings Protothea to WiiWare
Looks a bit dodgy. GWG's controls are all fine and well, when the stage isn't moving, but this, the stage is moving.
Re: Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou
IMO the PSP version was awful, I really hated it. But after the positivity that this version was getting, I decided to get it. And it's SOOOOOOOO! Much better
Re: US VC Releases - 5th May - Pokemon Puzzle League
Been after PPL for a while, carts are too pricey. Although it's a definite iPod game.
Pika, PikaPi, Pika Pika, P-I-K-A-CHU!! Pika, Pika Pi, PIPI all inside 15 seconds, lol.
Re: ESRB Update: EarthBound Finally Coming To Virtual Console!
Well this years Hanabi is a SHMUP fest. So maybe next year of even in December time, we'll get an RPG fest with this, SMRPG and Chrono?
Re: Star Parodier and other imports in the next Hanabi festival
I have a feeling that alot of people are gonna hate this Hanabai. 2 Puzzlers, 5 SHMUPS and 2 kinda sports games.
Last year, we got a good mix IMO. Still though, I'll be getting 3 of those SHMUPS for sure
I'd really went off them until the VC hit And boy are there some great ones out
Re: Star Parodier and other imports in the next Hanabi festival
Just got a Nintendo newsletter, we're also getting Break In and Digital Champ. Sorry if this old news.
Re: EU VC Releases - 2nd May - The Hanabi Festival Returns!
Doesn't matter, DKC2 and NES Football hadn't
I'm a bit gutted at the lack of a release schedule. They told us every Hanabi game that was gonna hit last time, so why not this time?
Re: EU VC Releases - 2nd May - The Hanabi Festival Returns!
What? Did Australia not get these like?
Serpent, not all imports. Battle Lode Runner was 600.
Re: Bionic Commando NOT coming to the Virtual Console!
Firebrand, the Wii wouldn't be able fo handle the new one, lol.
Re: Bionic Commando NOT coming to the Virtual Console!
Wow, Nintendo must really be trying to kill the VC. What's next? No more Mega Man games? Or Castlevania? Or even Ninty franchises like Zelda or Mario?
This is quite a shock. I've never played it before and I've been desperate for it to hit, and I thought surely it would because of the new one.
At least the new ones are also coming to the PSN, so I can at least get a feel of what the NES version's like.
Re: US VC Releases - 28th April - Double Dragon
Yeah, but Konker, don't you guys have like 20 games more than us?
Re: EU VC Releases - 25th April - The Last Ninja
Tides, it wipes your points now and you need to have a Brit credit card. I don't know to many Aussies with Brit credit cards.
Re: World Games
Kelvin, Barrel Jump is hard, yes.
Re: Double Dragon
@CopyofCopyX
Yes
@milkboy enterprises
That's why I bought it. I thought that they'd either added it or that the VCR was wrong. Unfortunatly though, it is 2p. Just in VS.
