Well, guess I won’t be getting this one at all then! Restocked yesterday and were closed by the time I clocked out of work, not a chance I’m going across town first thing in the morning for a chance on a Sunday. If these companies want to go all digital, go all digital! Events included! Sheesh!
On another note, anyone else find it amusing that of all the companies in the world The Pokémon Company seems to have the most trouble with managing cardboard?
@StewdaMegaManNerd it very much is, I wasn’t very clear in my comment. It’s a great port, great game. I was talking about the late demo and the lack of marketing for it. It deserves better!
@AussieMcBucket no the demo is great, but they didn’t even bother to promote what is apparently a really good port and are releasing the demo long after release. Given how vocal they’ve been about the lacklustre sales on other platforms, I can’t understand why they would send a good game out to little fanfare.
This company makes the most baffling decisions. They complain about lack of sales but good lord, they love to make all the right choices to minimize them. It’s a great port by all accounts so I’m confused as to why they won’t market it much and have the demo coming what may be well after release.
While these are valid points, indie games in general don’t get as much flack for pricing because most people understand the limited funds, scope etc. I think price is less of a concern when than quality, really. Wayfinder released at 39 CAD, Krystala will likely release at a similar price and games like Lucas: born of a dream (highly recommended by the way) off sale goes for about 25 last I recall. The only studios I take issue with when it comes to pricing are triple a studios when the price jumps but quality tanks.
@Darthmoogle honestly ue5 games shouldn’t be on switch 2 either. I love my switch 2 and recently sold my ps5 pro due to just being a dust collector. I know exactly what the console is meant for though, and these publishers are forcing games that aren’t suited for it onto it. That’s fine, but it really is a shame for people who can only afford a single console and want to play it.
@Darthmoogle that’s my current take as well, especially with Bandai namco thus far. The Elden ring port doesn’t look horrible, but the sparking zero specs are just bizarre. 810p docked? What on earth?
So is it accurate to say the reports that the day one patch fixes the input delay were bogus? If so it’s a pass from me, I can work with minor frame drops and some jank but input delay is just unnecessary and unworkable for me personally.
For me it’s as simple as “UE5? Pass” and “has issues on ps5 pro? Pass”. Otherwise I’m fine with trade offs graphically or performance wise. Keep in mind 30 fps on the switch looks better than 30 fps on ps5, I know there’s an explanation as to why but I’m no tech wiz.
@Not_Soos remember how old radio edits would censor the word "God" but be fine leaving "damn" in the song? Bet you there's one instance of Samus looking at a big boss monster and saying "Oh my god..." T for teen!
Apparently it’s not being ported by fromsoft. I want to know who’s porting it, because the comment about the bizarre button mapping reminds me of Vertuos and their horrific dark souls remastered botch job on the first switch. Even remapping buttons didn’t help, as the game overrides it.
Very disappointing, but based on the specs for Sparking zero my guess is that Bamco is rushing a bunch of switch ports to get in on the hype. They’d be the first switch 2 games to run horribly, and I wouldn’t be surprised.
Don’t forget the new digimon game runs at locked 30 fps on the ps5 pro. Bandai namco is archaic.

Re: Ubisoft Releasing Star Wars Outlaws Switch 2 Demo "Later This Year"
@FlyingDunsparce it’s a genuinely good game. Apparently it’s also an extremely good port, so worth dipping into depending on budget.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
I’ll be real, it’s less about the quantity and more about the quality. I’m happy with the balance here, I’ve had no complaints at all.
