I had the original Witcher on Mac and liked it as far as I got, but time and gaps between sessions meant I had zero continuity and wound up deleting it.
As a portable title maybe W3 would be better suited for me but yeah, the clunkiness of western style RPGs these days leaves me cold. Been too spoiled by shiny stuff like BOTW, I guess.
Pre-ordered, should be getting at the end of the week.
Never played the Wii original, and the QOL improvements make me think I (and my 11yo, who is quite Zelda-mad too, having gone from BOTW on to the remastered Link's Awakening, then then from there played through both ALttP and the original NES game on NSO) will be very happy with it.
Even as a heavy reader I prefer my text-heavy console games to be more adventure game than VN (e.g. the original Ace Attorney titles, Hotel Dusk, etc.) but having just played through Doki Doki Literature Club two nights ago (for free on Mac) and thoroughly enjoyed it I can see myself looking into these sorts of "more VN, less game" titles for Switch as well, just coming at them with a different mindset.
Really looking forward to this, since I skipped the Wii generation in my "NES to Switch" journey so far, and this will be mine (and my kids) first time with SS, and rhese QOL improvements sound fantastic, and seemingly address a majority of complaints I've heard about the original version. (Cos I don't care if it's more linear, or whatever, or what it costs as a remaster - it's a part of the past Zelda legend I haven't experienced before and that's fine by me.)
I'm intrigued by this and was regretting not having a Windows machine to give it at least an initial "taster" whirl with the freeware original version, but a quick look at Wikipedia shows that in this case, when people say "PC" it really is "Personal Computer" - it's free on Windows, Mac and Linux. Will be downloading the Mac version tonight...
Skipped the Wii generation so this remains the only main Zelda I've not played yet. Have it on pre-order, was really looking forward to it, and now more so after that trailer.
I am weirdly up for this. I say "weirdly" as while I've played/finished a few FF games (I, 2, 3 and 7) and own 9 (on iOS - must have bought it cheap somewhere along the way) I've never actually played it. Maybe I should...
@AlienigenX Others already mentioned the Castlevania series, and I think as a broad observation about most game-related movies/shows you're right, but (and I may be an outlier here) I... really rate the Detective Pikachu movie. Took my kids and a Pokemon-ignorant partner to see it, and we all enjoyed it for variety of different reasons.
@BigLarry It honestly doesn't in-game. The fact the plushie is of the pink variant (rather than white, gold, etc. in-game) probably doesn't help the comparison here though.
@Shiryu Yeah, same, re: confusion at the initial batch of comments. For some reason I read them all before watching the video, so was expecting something diabolical, but instead was like, "Oh, that looks... pretty much like what I expected... and that's a damn fine thing." I am definitely there for this one.
Thanks to everyone who mentioned Ghost of a Tale: had literally never heard of this before and having just watched the trailer and a couple of vids I'll be picking it up this weekend.
Love LEGO games but unless there are significantly more levels/longer duration than the iOS version then that price is definitely not at the "value for money" end of the spectrum, and I'll be waiting for serious discounting or passing.
DS Lite FTW for me. Didn't even consider buying a DS til the revision (though I used to borrow a mate's phat/silver to at least experience some of the games though), and now many (too many!) years later it's sitting on my desk now, in all its shiny black glory, still ready for a quick sesh. My all-time favourite console, til the Switch came along.
An unexpectedly fine game when I picked it up second-hand back in the day, and a far better experience than any of the console and PC versions of the same era, for my money.
Having said that, I'd still preference the LEGO HP games on Switch (and even DS) now.

Re: Random: That Guy Playing The Switch OLED In His Hallway Is Driving Social Media Bonkers
Dad with two gamer kids here - never underestimate the discomfort you're willing to put up with just to snatch some game time for yourself.
Re: "King Pokémon" Attracts The Ire Of Fans Over Comments Regarding Famous Artist's Signature
@gcunit Upvote for the "thrice". Nice.
But seriously, what a storm in a (collector's) teacup.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Is The Latest Game To Get Its Very Own Twitter Emoji
Could not care less about the emoji, but counting the days til I get my pre-order of SS; played every mainstream Zelda except that one!
Re: Square Enix Is Releasing A Demo For NEO: The World Ends With You
@riggah Coolio, thanks. Will give it a go.
Re: Square Enix Is Releasing A Demo For NEO: The World Ends With You
Hmm. Demo drops in a month, I have TWEWY on DS somewhere in storage, but somehow never played it. Should I dig it out first and give it a go...?

@BloodNinja Damnit! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised...

@BloodNinja Did he then redeem them for valuable prizes...?
Re: The Procession To Calvary Is A Pythonesque Comedy Renaissance Game Coming To Switch
Def getting this on release. More offbeat stuff is always to be encouraged, and this looks to be right up my proverbial.

PS I think it's pretty damn cute, myself!

Egrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention...

Thanks to everyone who mentioned Ghost of a Tale: had literally never heard of this before and having just watched the trailer and a couple of vids I'll be picking it up this weekend.
Re: Surprise! The Creator Of 80 Days Just Released "Overboard!", A Reverse Murder-Mystery
Definitely picking this up. Played 80 Days to death on phone and iPad, and the Sorcery games are a lot of fun too.
Somehow missed the existence of Heaven's Vault though, so will be checking that out as well - bonus!
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think The "Switch Pro" Will Actually Be Called?
@Ziondood Dammit, one odd leap of logic(?) later and now I'm thinking it should be called "Lilo and Switch."

Re: Feature: More Than Just Pokémon - Japan’s Secret World Of Game Boy Color
The one GBC game I truly regret selling (along with the machine and the rest of my games for it) was Pokemon Pinball.
Emulation now just doesn't come close, without that sweet rumble pack cart.
