Re: Soapbox: It's The Summer Of Visual Novels On Switch, And It's Just The Beginning

Even as a heavy reader I prefer my text-heavy console games to be more adventure game than VN (e.g. the original Ace Attorney titles, Hotel Dusk, etc.) but having just played through Doki Doki Literature Club two nights ago (for free on Mac) and thoroughly enjoyed it I can see myself looking into these sorts of "more VN, less game" titles for Switch as well, just coming at them with a different mindset.

Really looking forward to this, since I skipped the Wii generation in my "NES to Switch" journey so far, and this will be mine (and my kids) first time with SS, and rhese QOL improvements sound fantastic, and seemingly address a majority of complaints I've heard about the original version. (Cos I don't care if it's more linear, or whatever, or what it costs as a remaster - it's a part of the past Zelda legend I haven't experienced before and that's fine by me.)

@AlienigenX Others already mentioned the Castlevania series, and I think as a broad observation about most game-related movies/shows you're right, but (and I may be an outlier here) I... really rate the Detective Pikachu movie. Took my kids and a Pokemon-ignorant partner to see it, and we all enjoyed it for variety of different reasons.

DS Lite FTW for me. Didn't even consider buying a DS til the revision (though I used to borrow a mate's phat/silver to at least experience some of the games though), and now many (too many!) years later it's sitting on my desk now, in all its shiny black glory, still ready for a quick sesh. My all-time favourite console, til the Switch came along.
