PlatinumGames really knows how to get the most out of Switch. This and Astral Chain take all the right choices artistically to hide hardware limitations. Looks superb!
@Pennilein69 well, because it did not say 5$, button said Direct download. And there is only one confirmation screen that I skimmed through (expecting it to be free). It also auto-charged my prepaid credit, so there was no need for credit card info.. It's just reaffirming how these loops you need to hoop through to get a "free" game are bad practice and can result in an unhappy and dissatisfied customer.
Tried to redeem Destropolis today, didn't pay attention, got charged for it.. Nintendo has no refund policy, which basically means I'll hold a grudge and never buy No Gravity Games game again.
Nintendo Direct once again put MS/Sony to school.. just abnormal pace, and with almost all announcements being big hitters. Switch Sports definitely put a smile on my face, I'm getting this game!
While it will probably become the best selling Metroid game, given how great it was I'm actually a bit disappointed by numbers. Was my best game of 2021. in general.
Might just be me, but isn't a usual console lifecycle 6-7 years? And I fully expect Nintendo to release a new console after 7 years (end of 2023. probably), which would also be sort of fair to their new OLED customers. Imagine that..
Given it was 12 people who managed to secure their OLED Switches I'm 1 of 2 that got classic red/blue version. Love it, and as I said before Nintendo makes toys, it should be playful and colorful. I have my white PS5 when I want to look all serious in front of my equally middle aged friends.
I got one pre-ordered to replace my Lite.. Lite was always supposed to be temporary for me, a way for me to test the platform with minimal risk. Now, a bit later then I expected, I'll go all in with OLED (might be hard to sell Lite though, there will probably be a flud of those on the market )
I would bet this change was done just due to the fact that it's hard to get around outdated 1.4 HDMI controllers. When a new console does eventually get released, it will probably be called New Nintendo Switch OLED (4k), since it seems Nintendo's thing is to put the tech details directly in the name of the product. On a side note, it's funny how everybody hated PS5 white color choice (which I prefered for their market), but now white Switch OLED sold out in an instant (out of my friends circle I'm the only one who got red+blue version on purpose - because it's Nintendo and it's supposed to be colorful and playful)
@sanderev it might be different legacies and places these companies are coming from. Sony and MS are building a movies/music and PC alternative gaming experience. Nintendo is creating toys. Toys use different incentives to entertain user, focusing on interaction vs. pure audio/visual stimulus.
Nintendo always was full of weird and "out there" ideas, it's what makes them unique. I don't see other 2 major players being brave enough to put out and back up products Nintendo has. It might be risky, but in my opinion it us what kept them alive (and very near if not on the top) even if they are not leading tech innovation. If anything, while rest is innovating technology, Nintendo is innovating concepts and what it could mean to play and be entertained.
Disappointed, but at the same time at least Nintendo is looking out for me and is making me save a few bucks. Won't be buying it, and am sticking with my Lite (I was looking into docked improvements specifically, it doesn't make sense for me over very light and compact Lite in handheld).
There was a time when I wouldn't believe it would come to this. Hiding already built demo to trick people into buying a poor quality game. This is so ethnically low, I'll take note of team involved and make sure not to get invested in any of their future projects (there is simply no customer-dev trust anymore).
I've played the demo on PS5 and Switch Lite.. decided to get the full game on PS5, but only because I already play Zelda: BOTW on Switch. They did an amazing job scaling it properly, if anything I'm saddened by the fact I won't be able to play it on multiple platforms without purchasing it twice. Shame my purchase counts towards PS5 sales, because Switch could really use more ports done like this!

Re: Rumour: Immortals Fenyx Rising Spin-Off Will Be "Less Of A Copy Of Breath Of The Wild"
First one was excellent, please don't change style/gameloop. It only needs a bit of a tweak to humor, and it will be perfect.

@Pennilein69 no, I used a US account, and got a free Pirates game before.. just a glitch I guess. That cost me 5$ from my credits
