@ceedee Actually, there is some correlation even if it's not a major one. I don't live in a big city so maybe the population here isn't crazy about the latest tech. But regardless, GO is clearly doing really well right now, so you see everyone playing it around you. You see it on the news. You see it in YouTube videos. Shall I go on?
And I never said anything negative about smart watches. I said that it would be a neat idea, and I might consider buying one if they had more support for games like GO. But until then I have no interest in them.
@KittyKatta That's a neat idea, but the Apple Watch isn't as big of a deal as Apple hyped it up to be. I haven't seen a single person wearing one. I don't know anything about the Android Wear though, so maybe Pokemon GO Plus could work on that.
Although I'll certainly miss the good Professor, I can't go on without another Layton game. Switching protagonists is a small price to pay for more Layton masterpieces, in my opinion.
@0upshroom7 True, and I am looking forward to that, but that doesn't arrive until Autumn.
To put it perspective, imagine if you bought a Mario amiibo to get the Mii costume in MK8, but then Nintendo decides to release all of the amiibo costumes as free DLC for everyone. Then Nintendo's like, "lol just use it in Yoshi's Woolly World to get another costume".
I love amiibo and all, and I definitely don't regret my purchase, but it seems unwise on Nintendo's part to undermine their features (if you're like me and you actually want to use them instead of leaving them in the box, that is).
Regardless, nice interview. I agree with @Piersen that game devs ought to take all the time they need to make their vision a reality, but they seemingly can't do so without criticism from gamers.
And something about Mr. Aonuma's wording at the end... it almost seems to suggest that a new IP is already in the works. Probably just wishful thinking on my part.
@hepgius How is the resurgence of the NES, Nintendo's first big home console success — some might argue Nintendo's BEST console — in ANY way not "having fun with actual Nintendo hardware"?
I played the heck out of my plug and play consoles when I was younger, so I'll definitely pick this up.
Also, I think this is targeted towards people who don't want the trouble of tracking down the console and the carts for a good price (I've spent many hours on eBay looking for the games I want, and they're always either overpriced or don't work).
It's great to see Pokemon generating mainstream buzz again, but I just hope Niantic and The Pokemon Company can keep it going. I think offering an incentive for buying Sun and Moon (say, 200 coins for entering a code that comes packaged with the game) in GO would really help keep the brand alive.
@HSuzumiyaVI Yeah, Flappy wasn't insanely popular like GO is right now (thank goodness), but it's the second thing to come to mind when I think about games that blew up overnight.
Fingers crossed that GO doesn't die out as fast as Flappy Bird, though.
"When I ask my friends in the industry if they can remember another occasion when a mobile game shot up to the number one grossing position that quickly, no one can remember another case like this."
This is music to my ears. As someone who has trouble interacting with other people myself I can second that Pokemon has helped me get out of my bubble.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Switch Presentation Summary
I really hope that those of you complaining about how the Switch presentation was "weak", "lame", "underwhelming", etc. are just a vocal minority.
A mere two days after the presentation and some people are asserting that Nintendo is dead.
If just a sprinkle of optimism is too much to ask, then pardon my asking, I suppose.

C'mon Ninty, you did Nintendo x Vans and it was awesome, now for Nintendo x LEGO! The fans demand it!

Re: Editorial: The Rights and Wrongs of Shutting Down Pokemon GO Fan-Made Tools Like Pokévision
@KTT Couldn't have said it better. Sites like PokeVision wouldn't exist if the in-game tracking actually worked (three step glitch anyone?).

"Mom and Dad, the real Disney World is cool and all, but I kinda just wanna sit on a bench and play Disney Art Academy." - Said no one, ever.

Welcome to: Nintendo fanboys and fangirls tell Nintendo how to advertise games, the comment section.
Good to see nothing's changed here on NintendoLife.

Re: Poll: The Nintendo NX - Where Do You Stand on the Future of Nintendo?
If it's not an official reveal by Nintendo then it's kinda pointless to decide "if you like it or not".
Tbh I'll probably buy an NX no matter what just because it's Nintendo.
Re: Weirdness: Shadow the Hedgehog is Rather Foul-Mouthed in Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympics
Silly parents, don't you know your kids use this kind of language when you're not around?
Seriously though. Rare with grade schoolers, but definitely on a daily basis with junior high and up.

I absolutely LOVE her design!
This trailer was better than I could've imagined. I'm definitely pre-ordering this ASAP. So excited!

Fun, but... if you're gonna go ahead and upload videos of Callie and Marie's "performances" on YouTube, then why did I buy the amiibo?

Re: Video: Watch Pokémon GO Mania Unfold In New York City
Looks like fun to me, even if they're a little too crazy about it.
Too bad stuff like this doesn't happen in my area.
On a side note, watching this video made me want a full-length Pokemon GO documentary
