Had a lot of fun with the first one back in the days. Going from the megadrive to that felt like going from a bike to a spaceship. And then when Tekken dropped it was almost like it got completely forgotten, not to mention VF2. Booted it up the other year, and it seemed almost unplayable. Soundtrack is great though.
@Axecon This exactly. With S2's power some decent racing games should be on the horizon, and analog triggers make a lot of difference. Guess I'll stick with 8bitdo.
Very nice concert 🙏. Props to Nintendo for arranging and airing this for free. Goosebumps when the original theme got the treatment it deserves at the end.
@OldGamer999 Yea it’s an interesting situation for Nintendo. Dated tech, a console that has been on the market almost seven years which still sells 18 million a year, and a player base of 120 million.
Don’t think any gaming company has seen a situation like this before. Will be interesting to see how Nintendo navigate this.
@Fazermint Yea I feel the negativity has increased heavily in these threads lately. Sad to see. Where I’m from we have a saying that goes “if what you’re about to say is not positive/constructive, better not say it at all”.
@Servbot_EJ Agree, the music for Hydrocity pt2 is probably the finest from all sonic games. Marble garden is a nice level, probably one of my favourites from the game.
Well since it has come to light that it’s highly likely that the Palworld devs imported Pokémon 3D assets and then added some modifications I really hope Nintendo/TPC sues. That level of intellectual property infringement is simply not okay. If they get away with it it’ll just hurt the industry as a whole. Shame they’ve taken the easy/lazy route when it comes to their design since Palworld otherwise seems fun.
A lot of ignorance on show in many comments, especially the early ones.
Just because a company is huge doesn’t mean it’s okay to copy their designs. Nintendo is a big company because of the fact that they’ve done most things right over the past 40 years. They’ve taken risks, invented, avoided safe sequels, hired the right people and promoted the right people. Few companies stay at the top or near the top for that long in any business. They didn’t make it there by stealing other people’s ideas but by being original.
If a company takes the easy/lazy route of copying from other companies and gets away with it, it hurts the whole industry including us players in the end.
Props to NL for this article, lifting things like this is what game journalism is about. And please ignore those whining, even if they’re loud. They’ll grow up. Hopefully.
The demo for Dread is the best one I’ve played so far, it was generous and by the time it ended (after 1,5 hours or so) I was obsessed and had to buy it right away. Will download this demo at some point but have my hands full with TOTK and Sniper Elite at the moment 😁
@-wc- nl is the clearest example of review inflation ever, which means what they give here it’s typically 1-2 points off for a more accurate score. Content is good though, only scoring is so so.
Really in the mood for a metroidvania at the moment, the art style has very little appeal to me though. Luckily I found out about Afterimage recently so I can grab that instead. For €25. I’m sure this is a good game though and the level design is probably superior so when it’s on a decent sale I’ll probably pick it up.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes
@Truegamer79 It’s 2025 and complaining and nitpicking is all the rage. It also generates clicks. All a bit sad.
As someone I know posted online a while back: bad times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men.
We’re currently in a time when many people have become so weak that a minor problem with a luxury item (read video game) prompts a complete meltdown.

Re: "Capcom And SNK" Inspired Arcade Fighter Blazing Strike Locks In Summer 2024 Switch Release
Characters and backgrounds look nice. Would prefer a 3D fighter to make it to Switch but will keep an eye on this.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Metroidvania Games
Afterimage? That one is definitely missing and I don’t know why it’s so unknown. It deserves better.
Also, is Dread not in the list for some reason? One of the best games I’ve ever played. Great work otherwise!
