@Gioku really? I thought of a ton of ideas after years of the ds experience, its speakers could wisper secret information in while sneaking around, picking locks, or a game that combines a sidesrolling game on the pad while you protect or provide support on the big screen simultaneously which is in 3rd person, this could be done either coop or single player, then a shared first person mode for shooting, searching or linking targets from different angles.... Yea I think that sounds amazing, I need an indie developer to hear my idea..
@BossBattles that's a given and how about a green wii u with the luigi hat logo and a game pad with mini pics of him running jumping and sucking up ghosts? It would sell great. Even better if they gave a code for the original luigis mansion for gc, it would be a perfect way to launch the gc games for the virtual console, one can only dream.... No pun intended
@GiftedGimp I see a lot of people are calling out peach64 on his/her crap, I noticed it months ago, how can someone with a catpeach avatar be such a damn hater and skeptic of Nintendo all the time?
@NImH finally, since I have been playing since I was 4,I grew up on zelda, I love the old and new, say that MM is the most interesting, but I love SS the most for actually changing gameplay elements, swordplay was fantastic, but I miss the multi lock boomerang of WW, the dark tone of TP, and mounted combat really needs to be fleshed out more, the flying in SS felt like two steps back, but the story was the best, so much personality, especially for zelda, giving link a voice is still a bad idea tho
@ScorpionMG I have the vita version, it's wonderful, but you can immediately tell that Murphys levels were made for the precision of the wii gamepad screen. My hands kept blocking my view and it was hard to keep up. I'm still getting the wii u version mostly for my kids. Whoever thinks the vita version is superior is freaking lame.

@6ch6ris6 You OWE it to yourself to go pick up Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure on the DS, those are superb 2d Sonic games that no one ever talks about, also Sonic adventure 2 on the GBA was near perfect.
This commercial reminds me of the kind of marketing from the SNES days.....I MISS THOSE COMMERCIALS!!! They sold kids on games and this will likely do the same.
@undead_terror dont shake it while its open, and plenty of places can fix your hinges for you for a low price, though I would recommend using a video guide on youtube and do it yourself.
Both this and Mario Kart on the SNES are 16 bit, I hate to be a nerd but I hate it more when people dont understand the difference, especially since I grew up with these games.
@yoshisaredragon I managed to pluck a whole set of fat purple pikman and i completely owned my friends, same for yellow electic pikman too, his diversity is what makes him great.
@EarthboundBenjy you just fixed a problem and added one, if he was called the blue bomber I would still love it, but be kinda confused since he doesnt go around blowing things up (like bomberman)
@siavm Mario and Luigi Dream Team, its out NOW in Eurpe, the same damn language that I speak, so why not offer the digital version for NA NOW and then send the boxed copies later like with Super Luigi U? Instead I have to wait until August 11, Point made!
@turnmebackwards But Zombi U sucks so thats a bad example, its funnyn how when they made the first Red Steel on the Wii at launch it didnt sell well either and was another crappy launch title, but instead of "pulling" support they admitted they did a bad job and rectified it by making Red Steel 2, a real good and fun game that made the most use of the Motion controls at the time. It still didnt sell well due to lack of advertising and the Stigma from the first game but since the Wii had such a huge install base they didnt complain. Its all about sales and money ppl, thats why Ubisoft pushes multiplat so hard.
my boys love watching me play Punch out on the Wii, They cheered me on to beat the game, and got mad at me for getting owned the second time around (its REALLYY HARD!), Been about a year since i played it with them and they just recently brought it back up again after seeing the original punch out game. Only Nintendo brings families together like this. NOW GIVE ME ONLINE MULTIPLAYER SO WHEN IM AWAY I CAN GAME WITH MY KIDS NINTENDO!!!!!
@Pod but how many of those untested games are fuil of adware, viruses and constantly crash? A lot of them, and it makes sense they have to pass muster as no one wants to pay for a crap game, just look at the War Z on Steam, absolutely a terrible game with a cash grab mindframe worse than any other Ive ever seen.
@MAN1AC I think a good solution to this problem is to introduce new characters within exhisting francise games, Wario is a great example, he was the last bad guy in Super Mario Land 2 and that enable Nintendo to take a different approach and launch a series of new games based on Wario. Even the new Kid Icarus, thats a New IP in my eyes since its literally the 3rd game ever made with him with the last one being on the gameboy. He had a voice, a personality and all new gameplay COMPETELY different and exciting, Luigis Mansion is better than any other ghostbusting game only in its second installment. Nintendo knows how to flip its exhisting franchises and characters and make something new and fresh and I dont want a new IP crammed down my throat just because ppl want it, BTW The Wonderful 101 is looking great, Most likely a new IP for Nintendo.
Never really put much thought into this....but I doubt it will be a big issue considering Nintendo is improving its services for downloadable games like being able to transfer and store game saves...something that sony has been doing since the first psp.
@Dambuster Its already a gem, its turing into a diamond encrusted in a platinum shell!! WHY CANT THEY MAKE THESE ONE THE WII U? Anyone else miiss the Gameboy player? No reason they couldnt make something like that since the gamepad is the second screen, turn it sideways and you can play the whole game on the pad by itself......
Hmm, Im first? well then, Mr Iwata is sorely out of touch with modern gamers which is why he came west to learn more about the market, hopefully he does, the Online component of Nintendo is lacking and their failure to transition over to HD with AAA titles at the ready is hurting them so much that they have lost a decent amount of their fanbase. Not me, but Ive seen too many ppl who still dont even know what a Wii U is, that is an EPIC failure, stop being so damn cheap Nintendo, and the next console you make needs to be able to compete in the power department as well. Still luv ya.
wait, i played the game to completion and collected everything, the game is fun, but there is a certain level of finesse and substance that is lacking, its hard to describe but as a guy whos played almost every important platforming game made since the 80s this game still gives me the "test mode" vibe, I'd say an 8.5, its not mind blowing, Revenge of Shinobi III is still leagues better, strange comparison I know but thats just my opinion
they should have waited until they could show some proper gameplay, fighting especially, we want a preview of the games concept in motion, not just the thought behind the game
@MadAdam81 why does your government hate gamers so much? Aussies get the raw deal every time a new game comes out, they force modifications to games like GTA because they are 'too adult", I say leave that country or start a protest...seriously.
@Sceptic Then Nintendo is doing a poopydoodle job of the whole famliy friendly game experiences right now cause my kids would rather play Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports resort than anything they have right now on the Wii U, also since we dont live together we would LOVE TO PLAY ONLINE NINTENDO. DAMMINT!
@urandomsam, the army isnt anything like what you see in those games except when you are actually engadged in combat, Im not a Infantryman and combat is still rare nowdays for them too. I want to play NINTENDO games online (Super Mario 3D World) with my kids while Im here in Korea, Nintendoland would have been great for us, but alas, Nintendo keeps its head up its own burro and says NO to online because they dont think about people like me who can ONLY connect with family online.....sadness. Also, Im willing to pay to play online if Nintendo needs it cause I know that free online gaming is expensive so since $20 - $50 a year is reasonable especially if they take the Sony route and give online members Huge discounts, free games and an ACTUAL online community with full chat functionality, the gamepad would be my cam while I play with my kids and family, Why are they NOT doing this?
All call of duty games have BOTH local and online multiplayer, I honestly need both because im a Soldier and I travel all, and the only thing I can do with my 5 & 6 yr old boys is Wii U chat, seriously Nintendo? WE NEED BOTH!!!!!!!!
Out of all of the negative press, I remembered his past comment about it being a $400 xbox all too well. To see him flip sides further confirms my opinion that most of the hate on this system is because of blind ignorance derived from following the internet herd, corporate talk and just never actually spending any real time playing the system, I still imaging how great RTS games and MMORPGS like League of Legends would be on Wii U.
READ THIS FOR GOOD INFO!!!! for anyone who has played the Valkyrie Chronicles only the Playstation/PSP (and the one on the DS) The game play is really similar, just much prettier and harder to judge what attack to use and when to tag in you backup team. I love that kind of gameplay, but it does make you want to have more direct control at times.
NINTENDO, you have realized your mistakes now fix two of them, that means START MARKETING AGAIN, HARD!! Also, I look forward to playing multiplayer ONLINE not just locally, seriously dammit, get with the program. My Gampad is ready...for this title.
@gaby_gabito if they market it that way, but Nintendo has been so bad at marketing lately that its just sad, Hell the Gamepad with the Chat App can be used as a teaching tool, I do math and english with my kids on it all the way here in Korea, if only Nintendo would let me take charge of marketing....
@Knuckles I really hate what Capcom has become, i used to get hype just seeing a capcom logo on the start screen, now i never know when its gonna be a good game behind it (except for street fighter and Monster hunter.
@Guybrush20X6 So i have to really thank Nintendo for getting Megaman into Super Smash Bros, the classic nes verison that just makes me smile, and I hope those songs played for him (Megaman 2 Intro, Megaman 2 Wilys 1st Stage) are full renditions that will be in the game, they timed those song cues perfectly and they just made the video awesome. I can guarantee that people who never played his games will after they play with him, so eshop sales for Megaman games will go up and MAYBE Capcom will do him some justice in a new game, I would love for Nintendo to publish a Megaman game again...
