@JasonLee99 I can confirm this still works on the Wii Shop at least in Australia. I actually re-downloaded a few titles last week. Had to replace the SD card.
I wonder what Liam’s NBN hookup and connection is? I tried the same method myself and didn’t get that error message. My experience was smoother overall with less stuttering. The real killer for me was the input lag. Mind you I do have a FTTC hookup with 100/40 speeds which makes me one of the lucky ones.
@diegoarthur Still more effort than the 25th Anniversary All-Stars for the Wii, that was just an SNES Rom on a disk, not even the Super Mario World one. They’ve done worse.
I cannot help but feel, that for all that time this collection had spent going through the rumour mill, before it’s eventual official announcement. Might have damaged its image somewhat. All that speculation and imagination of the end product sent expectations to the Galaxy (sorry), leading to a lot of disappointment. I’m okay with it. These being emulated also give me optimism about the potential of newer systems being supported with NSO in the future. At least the groundwork is there now with N64, GameCube/Wii.
Admittedly, I think the post launch support will be better on Switch than Wii U due to it being well received, but I still remember feeling pretty burned when certain tables skipped the Wii U version. After purchasing almost all of the tables and following Zen Pinball 2 since launch it felt a little like a wasted investment. I think I might wait first to see if Switch gets skipped on content before committing.
Being Aussie really sucks sometimes, no Nintendo Store here and our Australian Amazon site only sells books and Kindles. Would have loved to have purchased this if given the opportunity. At the very least they could have the option for international shipping on the UK store. I wouldn't mind paying extra for the shipping fee which is usually astronomical for here.
I still can't believe the Dreamcast was more successful than the Wii U in terms of sales. I'm really starting to wonder if Nintendo would be more successful as a company by going Third Party, would anyone buy their games on other systems. I'm curious.
At this point I don't see third parties coming back whatever Nintendo do. Either they're gonna complain about the NX being underpowered, having a low install base or not being part of their demographic. This being stuck mid gen cycle also leaves them stuck between a rock and a hard place, either the NX will be a success or Nintendo will exclusively focus on Handhelds after it fails, or the third and most unlikely senario we will see Mario and Zelda on the PS5 within the next 10 years. All we can do is wait and see how it plays out. I hope Nintendo have a future, but it's also hard to be optimistic about it.
Though I'll probably get all of them, minus Lego and Skylanders. My top 3 would have to be Xenoblade X, Fatal Frame and Starfox Zero. I'm getting Yoshi's Woolly World in a couple of days and Devils Third is only a couple of months away for Australia.
@CreativeWelshman if the new NX system is X86 based it would make it difficult to retain backwards compatibility with Wii U titles, the new system would have to vastly more powerful to handle the code translation in real time, not to mention getting the rights to all those other third party sytems in VC would be a daunting task indeed. Though all other Nintendo systems should easily be viable.
@tysonfury Still, it'll be exciting to see whatever it is. I always get excited most with new Nintendo hardware announcements. It could be anything. MS and Sony's new hardware to me always feels the same, but with more power.
@tysonfury those two words make me worry a bit, ergo affordable = underpowered Innovative = some kind of forced gimmick. I guess if they really wanted they could make their controllers backwards compatible. Backwards compatibility in general is always a welcome thing.
@Grumblevolcano I think thats a valid point, I don't think they expected the third parties to abandon them so quickly, hence why they maybe weren't really prepared with their heavy hitters at launch. Launching with two year old ports from other systems probably didn't help them either.
Please, please don't drop the ball with the NX, I'm usually the optimistic one but I'm having my doubts about its success. It's gonna be quite a battle to court back any third party support. To be fair even if they release something beyond our wildest dreams they probably won't come back. Hopefully it's not too underpowered and gimmicky. Please prove me wrong.

Re: Control: Ultimate Edition Is Available Now On Switch, But There's A Catch
@bert0503 Could be worse, Australia’s is pretty rubbish.
Re: Review: FIFA 21 - EA Insults Switch Owners Yet Again With This Half-Baked Effort
Looks like it’s currently sitting at a 0.1 user score on Metacritic. Is that a new record?

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4
@bitleman even though the PS4 is screaming the competition in sales, Sony's so called infinite wallet is getting pretty slim.

@DJStarstryker I don't think we'll have that problem again, I feel they'd want to distance themselves from that name now.

Let's just hope they move onto the NX with lessons learned. It would be embarrassing if they made the same mistakes again.
