Fc26 is leading the charts because it is much cheaper than digital and people can sell it on if sucks, which most reports say it does. My copy arrives tomorrow and was already discounted £10. The early bad press probably made them want to dump the abundance they created early.

My expectations (and i play handheld where it should be better) are very low. And i fully anticipate losing £20 on this experiment when I get annoyed and sell it in the first week. Hopefully I'm surprised.

Star Wars trilogy was u playable on switch 1 for me, so bad. Switch 2 improved the frame rate but it’s still not great, which is a shame because it seems like an awesome game. For now it’s on my portal playlist.

Why is there no review / initial thoughts of handheld with VRR? I’d imagine it plays better at lower res with VRR in handheld than docked no?

Someone help me understand why they wouldn't uncap a game for handheld at least with VRR available. If it ran at 40 in some place and 25 wouldn't the screen just deal with it functionally?

The camera is very very bad in this game, it’s disappointing Nintendo didn’t find a better way or decide, frankly, it wasn’t good enough for release in its current form. A real let down given the rest of the game is good.

In addition to the article notes, reducing camera sensitivity can further mitigate the motion sickness.

All that said, real let down. And nowhere near covered enough. It’s not a footnote that the camera is ‘sometimes a bit iffy’ or similar. It’s absolutely broken with a core gameplay mechanic. Leaving players confused, falling to their death, and motion sickness. Not a minor problem.

As a portal owner I can report that streaming fork ps5 with a paltry 15mbps upload speed from the uk to western Europe still offered better graphics and performance than the last switch native version.

I wonder if the switch 2 version will equalise that, but am highly skeptical it will. Obvious local is better for some situations and I’d prefer to have it on switch 2, but that component matters very little to me when I can use mobile data and still get better gameplay and when I play at home most of the time, though screen free.

I appreciate I’m in the minority, but having some halfway Disney princess singing through the latest 3d platformer is actually a reason I’m thinning I won’t buy this. I’ll need to see how much of it is across actual gameplay and I skippable, but the whole idea is really off putting to me, and the fact they’re modelling her after every mid talent west end may be who can’t actually sing is a real shame.

Was all set to buy until this news. I know I’m nuts and everyone else loves the idea.

I’m sorry but come off it. There’s absolutely nothing a case can do well enough to get this score when it can fundamentally break your device just by picking it up. Absurdity. It fails at the one and only thing it’s supposed to do, protect the switch from damage, and whatever else it has going for it is irrelevant.

This seems like a major shilling tbh, and this case shouldn’t have been reviewed until it’s fixed - if you really don’t want to give a negative score.

I’ve been playing on ps4 and ps5 for the last few generations and decided to buy the switch version instead of waiting for the ps portal (having fired up remote play and experiencing lag). Now that I’ve bought it I’m quite disappointed that the 30fps play is probably worse than the remote play lag. I’m trying to give it a chance , to get used to the low frame rate but as others have said it’s like running through mud. Really disappointing. Tether that to how weak the next switch is reported to be and I’m not sure more switch is in my future. Probably I’ll have to suck it up and buy a pc gaming handheld like the ASU’s rog. This device is great at Mario and Luigi, but even the Mario wonder videos showed significant slow down.

At any rate if you’re on the fence and have another way to play, save the money. I wish I had bought it for ps5, even to remote play.

@Yomogi it doesn’t need to do well in Japan, even remotely. This myth is something that hasn’t been a big issue in a very long time, the USA market let alone the global Market outside of Asia is more than large enough to succeed without trying to interrupt the patriotism of Japan.

The switch olef upgrade wasn’t good enough. 2 generations of hardware behind at least and while the switch will continue to be used, I would guess new sales are going to fall drastically due to this device barring some amazing failure.

That said everything looks good on paper. Playing is a different thing. But yah, if I’m Nintendo I’m concerned.
