I love Nintendo

Overall I think it was a good showing. Not many surprises or epic reveals but hearing more about current projects (ecspecially SSB) is always exciting

@Ninjuggernaut Pretty much this. Although if MK8 looks that great now (especially with the anti-gravity) imagine how F-Zero would turn out!!!

Still, SSB4 stole the show for me. Now I'll be getting updates from Smashbros.com & Miiverse via Sakurai up to 5 times a week!

Hype train has well and truly departed.

I suspect, like last year, there will be a blockbusting Nintendo Direct in a month or so - showing all of the goodies that we can get before the other consoles are released.

Was hoping for any Updates about the Wii U such as new updates, price drops, new bundles or something. But I guess not. Any who, Look at those exclusives!<3

Really it was classic end of first year of every Nintendo console, it always in that time that comes a great number of first party titles, especially from well-known franchises that we love. Also two of the silly ones but relly in the past the silly ones were always in a great number.

I loved the PEGI 18 ad before the Direct started it setted the mood and there was at least 2 mature titles such as X and Bayonetta 2.

Really much better than last few E3s, still i miss the response from the audience. I know that most of (not all) the american audience does not like much of Nintendo because they do Japanese oriented games but it's what Nintendo is since 1889, Hanafuda Cards were their first Japanese oriented game, so really complaining about that seems silly.

I'm in with the franchises, now that their development is close to an end i hope they take their time to experiment.
I know they are afraid to fail with a new IP because they want it always Japanese oriented and they shat i was saying before and all, but they need to try.

At least this time, they are revealing more and more by making a good use of the "floor" after the Direct.

I'm disappointed in Nintendo's Wii U showing so far. There were no previously unannounced games other than DKC. Also pushing back Mario Kart until after the holidays is a huge loss for Nintendo. Remember, the combination of Mario Kart 7 and Mario 3D Land saved the 3DS. I think Nintendo should have tried that again. Also, I am disappointed that Retro's game is Donkey Kong and not Metroid or Star Fox. I'm sure DK will be good, but one of those games would have been epic.

@BestBuck123 I hope so! If nothing interest me from Nintendo besides it games, I may purchase a PS4. I have only limited amount of money and its a hard decision either Wii U or PS4! I really want to play HD hardcord gaming for the first time. So yea not its the battle of Wii U or PS4 purchase for me.

Really is that all Nintendo has to show for the future - re-hashing of games we already had on all the other Nintendo Consoles releases. Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Donkey Kong Country, Wii Fit U. What can they do so different compared to the past versions that will make people want to buy these again. Surely people aren't that mad to part with their hard earned cash for a HD upgrade!!
Nintendo needs to rejuvenate IP's we haven't seen in the past two console releases, come up with some new IP's or persuade 3rd party developers to include the WiiU when they say they are making a game multi platform. Then throw some money behind them with global advertising.
Other wise WiiU will be Nintendo's Dreamcast.

@StevenSeagal - The Mario Kart - 3D Land combo along w/ a $70 roughly 25% price drop. I don't think 1 or the other would have done it alone.

I said before the ND that it was too soon for a price drop, have since changed my mind seeing all the 2014 dates, WiiU cant be nearly as expensive as PS4.

Nintendo really needs to do a better job streaming, watching that 240p stream stutter like a slideshow killed it for me, I bad mouthed a bunch of games I shouldnt. Watched it 720p on Youtube after school and I was impressed. I'll never watch a WiiU ND live again, 3DS games look about the same at 240 or 720.

No bad news during the ND please. Dont put delays in the middle of the press conference, it killed the flow and the vibe, just send out a news release after.

The show could have used 1 slide near the end - before the booth tour - listing all the game release goodness. Like this:

That list makes me excited to buy those systems, egen though some of the dates arr probably wrong b/c I cant find this list anywhere.

Nintendo is also banking on Sonic Lost World. It cannot bring forth WW, Mario 3D, DKCR, AND Kart and destroy Sonic's title that way.

@Suicune Mario Kart 3D Land came out in November and Mario Kart 7 was released in December of 2011. They were both on the shelves around the holidays and led to a large install base of 3DS's that have allowed the system to flourish. I think holding off until spring of 2014 for Mario Kart 8 is a huge mistake because that's the one franchise that will always move systems. Having Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 together at Christmas would have been a great 1-2 punch. The same cannot be said for the combination of Donkey Kong and Mario 3D World.

@dumedum I have no interest in any Sonic title. I had a Super Nintendo and not a Sega growing up and never played Sonic games.

Not showing a new Zelda for the Wii-U and the 3DS getting some ugly ass version of Smash Bros., makes me pretty disappointed in Nintendo. Plus everything except X are just rehashes.

Raymen Legends, Sonic, and Mario 3D World will take my money. Nintendo needs to increase the number of games substantially as there is a severe lack of good games in Wii U (I have no interest in Super Mario Bros U). Hopefully Sega and Ubisoft do not withdraw support for the console.

People's reactions never cease to baffle me. There were little to no surprises because they have been giving us Nintendo Directs every month. Derp. Just imagine if everything they showed today was the first time they ever mentioned any of it, and they could have thrown in that Earthbound was coming for the first time, etc - people would be losing their minds with excitement.

They practically laid out what they were going to show us ahead of time and they delivered. It seems like people's minds cannot rationalize that and demand an avalanche of new information and reveals to actually be able to process reality. Sad.

On a lighter note, I was pleasantly surprised with what they showed of Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 ... and after 7 I really wasn't interested in the next Mario Kart. And Wind Waker HD practically stopped my heart. And SMASH BROTHERS. God I loved it all.

Games look good, still a bit disappointed and don't see any games that will make non Wii U owners froth at the mouth

Isn't it pretty obvious by now why there is no F-zero? Really guys, F-zero pretty much stopped shortly after releasing Mario Kart. Nintendo doesn't want to create a competitor to its own game. Sad but true...

@Wanderhope I agree , if they would have held back the last 2 months worth of NDs ,their E3 ND would have looked spectacular.

I think anyone who got carried away, thinking that Nintendo were going to unveil loads of stuff we knew nothing about, was kidding themselves. I'm happy with what I saw but the MK release date needed to be this year and nobody is going to buy a Wii U for a DKC game. Nintendo are intent on making the Wii-U have as rocky a start as possible. My big worry now is that they're 'Gamecubing' their support without even admitting it. 3DS is doing brilliantly (like the GBA) and Nintendo just keep making it sexier and sexier with amazing games but the Wii U is what needs that now.

@zeldazero Mario Kart is not the reason there is no F-Zero, they are completely different games and they released 2 console F-Zero games after the first console Mario Kart. The less than 1M sales of F-Zero GX is probably why they have never made a sequel. I was sceptical about the possibility of Shin'en making an F-Zero game and having played "FAST Racing League" for Wiiware I really hope they do get to make it.

I was hoping for the price of the Wii U to drop down. But other then that these games look amazing.

You guys could make a table of expected release dates. You know, we need to plan our savings accordingly.

At the end of the day, all this is well and good, but I'm actually really content with what I have to play now: I recently got Mario and DK from the eShop, Fire Emblem Awakening a couple of days ago from Tesco, I have Pokémon Mystery Dungeon in the post and I will have Animal Crossing to download as well. Happy days and lots to look forward to from E3, but for now I am delighted with what I've got.

I definitely enjoyed Nintendo's E3/Direct! I was very satisfied with what I saw so far. Very good.

I do have a question though. I hope someone that really knows the answer can answer this. Why isn't Kingdom Hearts 3 coming to Wii/Wii U?! KH has been on both Sony and Nintendo systems, yet this time Xbox One is getting it? That's b.s. that Nintendo couldn't have it. If you're going to make it multiplatform, then make it for ALL systems. Not just PS4 and Xbox One. Especially this game. I'm done now.

Did you ever think that the reason f-zero didn't sell well was because Mario kart 64 did sell well?? Yeah, but the real point still remains, it isn't smart business to make games that compete with your own games...Nintendo chose the game that sold best and stuck with it. A fact that can't intelligently be argued with. If they did make another racing game, it should be a Wave Race which I would buy before a new f-zero and is a different type of racing game that may appeal to different players than Mario kart players

@zeldazero Mario Kart definitely doesn't do F-Zero any favours by stealing the limelight but I think Wipeout was the real killer of F-Zero even though they're totally different.
My personal choice would be 1080' Snowboarding with balance board support but a new Waverace could be what the Wii-U needs to prove it can make a beautiful game.

I know we have already had some good games this years and there are still somemore to come but where were the 3DS games come on Nintendo 3 games that we all know about is not good enough get some new stuff.

C'mon Nindi, why nothing revolutionary? How about a Mariocraft or something? Metroid open world multiplayer...

They messed it up. We can expect a minor boost in hardware sales by the end of this year, but they didn't convince a non-Wii U owner to run to the store and get one. I predict another poor year for the Wii U.

WHEN IS THE NEXT NINTENDO DIRECT!?!??

Even though a lot of fans are asking for another F-Zero, Miyamoto doesn't know what else should be added. F-Zero GX was one of the best I've ever played. Chock-full of grade A content yet commercially it didn't stand up to it's potential and performed very poorly.

Nintendo could very well bring out another F-Zero but Miyamoto & co know that isn't the way they make their games nor is it part of their philosophy.

Perhaps the ideas and gameplay designs will come one day, I think that's why we saw that F-Zero themed mini game in NintendoLand.

So Retro WASN'T working on simultaneous Metroid Prime WiiU & 3DS games together, after all. Which leaves us with exactly ZERO first person shooters in the 3DS retail catalog. Activision released FIVE Call of Duty titles onto the DS, so they have a relationship with Nintendo. It would be great to see how they would bring Call of Duty Ghosts to the 3DS. If you'd like to see that, you MUST show em your interest by calling them at (800) 225-6588 and requesting to see Call of Duty Ghosts on 3DS

Sad they didn't show anything on Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. Perhaps saved for the next Nintendo Direct maybe.

@Laxeybobby Rather than think that no new franchises is a bad thing, it's actually Nintendo's strength. We wouldn't even have a Nintendo if they didn't release a Smash Bros., Mario Kart, etc. every system. Sure, there's room for new and original stuff, but it's small. Call of Duty is like the Mario of the xbox and ps3. What do you think would happen if they stopped making new CoD games? You need to go with recognition. It's hard to build a new series from the ground up. Mostly, Nintendo developers are dedicated to what's already known.
