Earlier in the month, Bethesda rolled out a huge patch for DOOM an DOOM II across all platforms including the Switch.

In case you forgot, this hellish update introduced add-on support – including John Romero's unofficial fifth episode SIGIL 60fps support, aspect ratio options, quick save and load, level select, "plus a ton" of quality of life features and performance optimizations.

John Linneman has now decided to take a look at how both games perform and says it's "one of the most significant game updates" he's tested during his time at Digital Foundry.

He goes onto say how the developers have addressed virtually every issue and notes how the game has gone from being disappointing to worthy. See for yourself in the video above, and tell us in the comments if you've returned to these classic games on Switch since the update.
