Highly anticipated 3D adventure Yooka-Laylee will be playable by the public at this year's EGX event in the UK, it has been revealed.
Created by a team of former Rare staffers and published by veteran firm Team 17, Yooka-Laylee is a 3D platformer which takes inspiration from the likes of Banjo-Kazooie and the Donkey Kong Country series, both developed at Rare by many of the same people that currently make up Playtonic Games.
Speaking of which, the Playtonic team will also be on hand to discuss the creation of the game in a developer session on Sunday, September 25th at 4PM.

YES, British people get to play before Americans.
Still clinging to the hope this will make an appearance in the NX sizzle reel when it's finally revealed.
@A01 It could be the Wii U version, especially if the NX isn't revealed until sometime after EGX.
@A01 likely Playstation 4, as it's been seen playable before by the developer.
I can't wait for this, more so than anything I'm excited about this year.
That being, Paper Mario Colour Splash, Bioshock Collection, Skyrim HD and Gears of War 4.
Playable on what? Wii U I hope.
Cool! It doesn't matter what version is playable, as long as I can play it then that's fine
I predict that the NX will be revealed after Sony's conference but before the end of September, so hopefully Nintendo will bring it to EGX!
This game is going to be wonderful. I can feel it in my Jiggies.
@123akis Nintnedo isn't bringing NX to TGS in it's own country but it's going to bring it to the UK where Nintendo barely registers as a company? Now that would be some serious "Nintendo logic" right there.
I wonder if this game will started by Wii U version first.
Wii U needs some decent games before ended soon...
@rjejr lol the bit about them bringing it to EGX wasn't a prediction, but a statement of hope, obviously someone who's gonna be going to this expo is gonna hope for that 😉 and who knows, maybe it will come to TGS.
Has Nintendo even confirmed they will be at EGX this year, because I have heard nothing yet.
@b_willers Nintendo always announces their plans a week before the event happens.
This is definitely the most hyped Wii U title in ages! (Besides Zelda of course)
Want this more than BOTW
I don't share people's excitement for this but shall be going to EGX. If it is on the Nintendo stand I shall have a go, but not on any other system.
@b_willers
Yeah they are going to be there, there seems to be many rumours that NX may be playable. Can't see that but in a glass case at the event would be a start.
@123akis Well if NX is at TGS it will have to call Uber, b/c Ntineod isn't going to TGS, it hasn't for years.

OK, I'm always too negative with you. Nintneod revealed 3DS and Wii on Sept 13th, 2011 and 2012, at Nintnedo World (formerly Space World) so a September reveal of NX is likely. Though Oct 1 is a Saturday, since it will probably be kid focused like the 2DS maybe a Saturday live streaming event is the way to go? Or they may wait until after PM:CS on Wii U on Oct 7th, so maybe Oct 13, which is the PSVR launch date. That woud be an interesting choice.
@rjejr Or there's always the possibility of Nintendo doing their own event?
and the 3ds was revealed by Satoru Iwata at E3 2010!
@123akis Good point, I was thinking o fthis.

If Nintnedo would just simply reveal NX I'd be able to spend a lot less time going thru hotel bookings throughout Tokyo to find out when and where Kimishima is staying in September. Surely Ninteod has booked a place for a big event by now and I will find it.
