Playtonic Games - a UK studio made up of former Rare staffers - has released the first footage from its Banjo Kazooie "spiritual successor", Project Ukulele.
The short clip - posted via Vine on Twitter - shows a minion character from the game hopping from foot to foot.
It's a good indication of the visual style the team are aiming for in this new title, which is hopefully going to make its way to the Wii U.
The first screens from the game were shown at this year's EGX Rezzed event in London.

It's going to be too long of a wait to see the end results of this game. Can we skip ahead a year or so?
NIce fluid animation
Jump jump jump jump jump...
I'm hugely excited for the game, really hoping it comes to Wii U.
This is very exciting. Yes, please take me back to the golden age of gaming that was N64
Seems like a Mortal Kombat fighter ripped off his face.
looks so much better animated than not
Has a very "Viva Pinata" like vibe to it, i like it
I will definitely be supporting Playtonic!
I hope they pronounce 'ukulele' the proper way. The animation does look noice.
I hope that's an enemy character...
@TheRegginator
Why so cranky? You keep complaining and acting like you have a say in what Nintendo Life reports.
Ugh I can't wait much longer! It's been so long since I last anticipated a game this much. Rare of the N64 era was my absolute favorite developer and now it feels as if they're back but with a new face. I seriously hope Project Ukelele turns out as great as I think it will. Btw the animation is pretty cool!
I have never played Banjo Kazooie, but I heard its an awesome game. I should probably try it out.
Looks nice!
@TheRegginator
1. The devs themselves have repeatedly referred to Banjo-Kazooie in interviews, and have said they want to create a spiritual successor.
2. They've also said they want to work with Nintendo and, if the community calls for it, will make the Wii U the lead platform. I think that's a pretty good indication that the game is coming to Wii U, don't you?
@sweetiepiejonus Well, don't we all have a right to comment and express our opinion? Isn't that a way of contributing and keeping a website alive?
@Goginho
What do you mean? When did I ever say anyone didn't have the right to express opinion? I asked a question then made a statement. Unless he or she owns this website why would you think you can tell said website what they can or can't say? That is not just expressing an opinion.
...I was expecting Gameplay. TwT lol
@TheRegginator
The studio is made up of former Rareware staff, they actually made Banjo Kazooie, and they themselves are calling it a spiritual successor to the series, so how exactly is it wrong to call it that?
I think raising awareness of a successor to the series is enough reason to cover it. Its hard for people to support a project they don't know exists.
