Genius Sonority has confirmed that the third instalment in the Denpa Men series is making its way to the North American and European 3DS eShops this summer. A free demo of The Denpa Men 3: Rise of the Digitoll will be made available in May which will be limited to 30 plays, but users will be able to transfer their progress to the full game when it eventually launches.
To mark this news, The Denpa Men 2 is now on sale, and will be until March 13th.
Here's the official press release:
THE 'DENPA' MEN 3 is the third game in the expansive RPG series where players catch and form parties with Denpa Men to conquer dungeons and explore a vast world. In the third iteration, the Denpa Men you are trying to capture can now fight back by throwing colored balls at you, but players have new weapons at their disposal such as an antenna to capture Denpa Men.
Who are the "Denpa" Men?
The Denpa Men are mysterious creatures who appear around radio waves. Find Wi-Fi signals or scan QR codes to find Denpa Men, and use the AR “Catch” feature of the Nintendo 3DS to make them part of your team.
Each Denpa Man is unique in its appearance, stats, and abilities. The possibilities of their variations are limitless. It is also said that among them exists a very rare kind of Denpa Man.
Key Features:
- Continuing the adventure - THE 'DENPA' MEN 3: The Rise of Digitoll can inherit data from the previous two games THE 'DENPA' MEN: They Came By Wave and THE 'DENPA' MEN 2: Beyond the Waves, allowing players to start a new adventure with characters they’ve captured previously.
- Personalize to your hearts content - Once the Denpa Men join your party, they come with their own highly customizable houses, where the interiors can be decorated to their liking. Decorative items can be exchanged with other players.
- Share your Denpa Men- Deploy the Denpa Men not currently in your party to other players around the world. Or, if you need a little help on your adventure, borrow a Denpa Man from someone else. If your Denpa Man is high in demand, you might just earn a little cash on the side.
- Go shopping - Connect your 3DS to the internet and shop with players from around the world. You might be able to trade better items for better prices than the in-game shop.
- Battle over the Network - Enter the coliseum to pit your Denpa Men against other players around the globe.
- Make some memories - While on your quest, hold down the L / R buttons (simultaneously) anytime to snap a shot of your characters. These are stored on the SD card, so they can be transferred and shared anytime!

Never played a Denpa Men game. Waiting for this instead picking up the second game proved worth it.
Ha! I bought the first game on sale, will buy the 2nd one on sale too.
Hopefully the 3rd will join in the same manner
They should release these games in a pack physically.
So how much is Denpa Men 2 on sale for?
EDIT: After checking the eShop, I can confirm its $8.39 in NA, so it's only been knocked down a few dollars.
I've still yet to even fire up the 2nd one as I bought it just to show support. When I get around to playing it (and I'm sure ill like it) then and only then will I pick up the 3rd one even if only to sit there till I get around to playing that one. I want to show my support to the series as I think it's preety good. Might just also wait on a sale for the 3rd one. Last year and this year has been rpg overload and it's even overwelming me to this point! Not like these games are short to play!
@Xilef I'm trying to make sense of your post. You said you never played it but then said the second proved worth it??
WOOOO! #DayOneDenpa
3 ? I still haven't played the first one
@Prof_Clayton
Thank you very much. I am baffled how the article mentions it is on sale and it gives the timeframe but not the most important fact: the new price.
I have a little itch for a dungeon crawler, so for me it would be this or one of the EO games. This one is cheaper so I may take the plunge and not regret if I don't like the genre.
I played the first one but I found it to require too much grinding, and I recall hearing that the sequel was harder, which turned me off. It's a fun, quirky game, but not fantastic. This one looks like it could be better suited for more casual, less grindy, play.
How are these games....?
@Mask0Gears I liked them a lot. I put over 40 hours into each of them. In my opinion, the sequel is certainly superior to the original. Building your team is so much fun! The Denpa Men are quite customizable (especially in the sequel), and figuring out how to manipulate the stats and types/abilities to your advantage is a lot of fun. I would say that if you like Pokemon, definitely try this game. Download the demo at least! In my opinion, the sequel is certainly superior to the original.
This looks really fun! The first one was hit and miss for me to be honest (too repetitive) but I enjoyed the demo of 2 so will get it on sale. The new features for this one sound great though!
It looks fun but i still have to find the water temple in the second one and i will be buying this one soon
I've played the first one and loved it.... haven't exactly gone back to it but I did/do like it. Then again, I think Pokémon Black was eating my time up....
Never bothered with the 2nd one but MAYBE this new one: The Denpa Men 3: The Rise of Digitoll will sway me. IDK.
I really like dungeon crawlers, and I liked the 1st DM game (although it was a bit too simplistic).
When I read that the 2nd one finally added in more activities, more item types, and a larger world, I've wanted to get it for a long time now. With the sale on, it's finally time I check it out.
I hope its better than the second one. The first one was great but the second one didn't hold my interest for very long at all.
Remember people, Denpa 2 has a demo... Just a disclaimer
Good news. I loved the first one, but haven't gotten around to even buying the second one yet.
I LOVE The Denpa Men sadly I haven't even got the 2nd one yet, but I will support these developers by buying both games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to see the 3rd one coming out over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Spoony_Tech Kinda forgot to use the word "of". What i meant to say is that it was worth waiting for the third game instead of picking up the second one.
Seeing how many people havent even finished the previous ones (me neither) I dont see myself getting the third one. Come up with better character design, everything else is fine I guess
Any one who has not played any dempa men games is really missing out. For under a tenner these games are a gem. The first one is very long and fun.after you complete the game theres even more adventures to do. The second game adds new sruff and more story and is land based and you can grow stuff and battle other players dempa men. Great great games. I would pay more for them. Better value here than some full price titles.
Can't wait for third game ace
I got to step my game up. I haven't played the first one in a long time. Last stage I can remember was a ice dungeon, and I yet to buy the second because I haven't beat the first. Maybe buying the second game now will light my gamer's torch to complete.
Ohmigosh finally! I loved The Denpa Men 2, and the improvements this one is claiming to have are turning this into a highly anticipated release for me. Can't wait for the demo!
I really liked the 2nd game it was a full fledged RPG adventure. To be honest I enjoyed The Denpamen 2 more than Bravely Default. The second half of Bravely Default just killed what was an excellent first Half. Don't get me wrong Bravely Default is still a fun game which I would rate a 7 but The Denpamen 2 was a good 9 rating. I would love to see a more co-op version for the next game
Haven't really delved into either, but I'll be getting this day one as well.
