In recent times Nintendo of America has been running a contest with a number of popular YouTube channels, in which they were challenged to produce videos based on Super Mario 3D World or The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. We featured one of the entries, in which a cat wasn't impressed by the idea of recreating the Mario title in real life.

Plenty of heavily subscribed YouTube creators participated, and Nintendo has selected "The Wind Waker - Hey Ash Whatcha Playin'?" as its winner; it's the work of HAWPOfficial. They now have the opportunity to collaborate with one of YouTube's most successful content creators, Freddy Wong, on a short film inspired by Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze; this will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on 16th January. Nintendo will be appearing at the festival once again, as it has in recent years, hosting invitees in The Nintendo Chalet where they'll be able to play games such as Wii Fit U and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

You can check out the winning video below, while the full list of submissions is available on this page.
