Rayman Hits 3DS VC in Europe Next Week
Posted by James Newton
Gear up for Origins
With a Rayman Origins demo last week and Rayman on 3DS Virtual Console next week — not to mention a proper look at Rayman Legends for Wii U the week after — Ubisoft's hero is working harder than he has done in years.
Rayman's Game Boy Color adventure lands in Europe next Thursday for £4.50, and is only the second VC title from Ubisoft after Prince of Persia earlier this year.
Will you be picking up the helicopter-haired hero's GBC outing?

@DarkEdi Yes, the story and gameplay is based off the original Rayman ( DSi version) but the level design is different.

I wanna check out the DSi port of the PSX game and this one as well. This seems to be an entirely different game.

I already have the DSi port of Rayman. Does anyone know if there is a reason for me to buy this one?

I remember playing this game when I was like 5 or 6 and completing it in about a week... doubt I could do that now. I think I still have the cartridge for it somewhere, shame I don't have a GBC any more though to actually play it...
But this will be a welcome addition to my collection!

Can't wait for this.
Even though I have the DSiware version of Rayman I'll be buying this anyway.
Hopefully they will release Rayman 2 forever soon as well.

This game is on the NA eshop's search section, so chances are it will release everywhere next week. Never played rayman, so I can give this a shot.

Kirby's Block Ball was on the eshop in America for two weeks before it was released.

Probably coming to NA very soon, for the reason DreamingHawk gave.
Hope to be surprised with Wario Land next week, but Rayman is no slouch either. Either one would be good with me.

TheDreamingHawk said:
@pokeDrago It seems more likely to happen at E3. There ARE 5 titles already planned for that thursday (4 of them being DSIware.)
@Bass_X0 But this is ubisoft, not Nintendo. It's up to ubisoft what to do for this game.

4 DSiWare titles which Thursday? What?!?
Either way, if they don't have 3DSWare, then they have a VC game to release (as stupid as that logic is), so I wouldn't be worried. A special game announced at E3 wouldn't surprise me. I'm actually banking on Kirby Tilt n Tumble: both for Kirby's 20th, and for being a special release for the gyro controls. It makes sense to me... :/

@TheDreamingHawk what thursday? this sounds good

CommanderAudio said:
Well I don't care about this. They could just put a black screen on the whole game, then sell it for 12 dollars and it'd still be better than the Rayman Origins 3DS port.

i really hope tfor you guys this game cames to US too but i doubt it because Prince of Persia is out in Europe for months and it doesen´t seem like there are any plans to bring it over. But good luck (happy to live in Europe^^)

WarioFan63 said:
@TheDreamingHawk I only see 2 DSiWares for the E3 week Thursday
@Fabian It's already been said in these comments but this game's already listed in the US eshop as Coming Soon so yeah we're definitely getting it over here too sometime.

@NintendoLife I read on Thursdays NA update, someone found Rayman [GBC] as coming soon when you type in rayman in the search box. I've tested it and can attest its true

TheDreamingHawk said:
@WarioFan63 Really? I swore that Digital Nintendo Directory (A list of upcoming downloads) listed about 4 or 5 titles for that thursday. Must've been a typo.

Japan doesn't usually get the Ubisoft games. I've never played Rayman, but I heard its fun. I highly doubt we'll get this or Prince of Persia.

Nintenbro said:
@Tsuchinoko, we still haven't recieved Prince of Persia here in the United States either, and it's beginning to really piss me off. Damn you Ubisoft or Nintendo, who ever is responsible for this. Give us Prince of Persia on the SNES VC already! Why the hell would anyone desire to own any other port!? Forgotten Sands was purely false advertisement. I'm so glad I read into it, before I ordered a copy from Amazon. My anger would've doubled.

Tsuchinoko said:
@G4L Well, I was just stating a fact. Not really upset, but I actually think its strange that NA didn't get that game. Japan not getting isn't nearly as odd as NA not getting it.

I know buts that's not good enough for me >_< raynman 2 is on nearly every system from n64 to current gen nd when I heard the 3ds was getting a rayman 3D I suspected rayman 3
nd I currently don't have a ps3 or xbox which kills it even more :I @Kyloctopus

@33, Legend Marioid:
The DSiWare version of Rayman is a near pixel perfect port of the original PS1 game. Sure, the screen is just a little smaller and the difficulty is a bit toned down mainly because you have a few more hit points. Otherwise, it's the exact same game as on the PS1.
