The sequel to the critically acclaimed Shantae is here!
Fans asked, and WayForward has answered with a powder keg of high-octane, hair-whipping, hip-shaking action available only on the Nintendo DSiWare service. Shantae: Risky's Revenge sets the bar even higher with thousands of frames of animation, huge multi-sprite bosses and a quest so big it's bursting at the seams. Guide "half-genie" Shantae through haunted wastelands, burning deserts, enchanted forests, dripping caverns and deadly labyrinths.
Discover magical attacks, brew zombie coffee, save golden babies and master the art of belly dancing to transform Shantae into more powerful creatures. Use your powers to foil the lady pirate Risky Boots and save Sequin Land from certain doom. With its infectious characters, flirtatious humor and deliciously outlandish action, Shantae: Risky's Revenge offers up all the hair-whipping, belly-dancing action you can handle.

shantae, sashay! lol
"The first of three sequels to the cult classic GBC game, Shantae!"
the 1 of 3 thing makes it seem like it will be a cheap short game
why can't they just put all three together to make it one big worthbuying game?

@xBenji65 Wayfoward tried before, but they can't get a publisher no matter what.

It could be due to the restriction Nintendo puts on all their Dsiware downloads.
Personally, I would be willing to buy 3 full Shantae games.
Reasonably priced of course.

Yeah...so, first it was 2009 Q4, then 2010 Q10, and now the release date is "soon"? What's up? A lot of hype then BOOM, you hear nothing about it for months.

I agree, i dont know why they just suddenly stop all news about it. But if the wait is to make it better, then im all for it.

Where is Shantae? Matt Bozon, don't fail us now! Hopefully this won't end up like Shantae Advance, because I don't want to pay a huge sum of money for the original game (but I might).

It should come around E3 like mighty flip champ was. Also it has an esrb rating so that means its done. As of right now just try to kepp your mind of the wait.

I picked this game up after reading this review, and I gotta say, I was a little dissapointed. The game itself isnt poorly made by ANY means, but it wasnt quite what I had expected. Its fun in short doses, and the characters are all beautifully made, but the map made me realize just how small the game really is.
Dont get me wrong, its not a bad game, it is good. Its just a little... Overrated

Can anyone help?
I downloaded this game the other day and I'm finding myself stuck in one of the castle's/ruins. I think it's the squid's house...anyway, it's right after you get to the fountain and gain your monkey power. I'm sure that's the key, but I can't figure out how to get out. It seems like you can't go any further than the room right after the fountain and then when you go back, you get to where you fell and the monkey cannot climb these walls.
Appreciate the help...

btw - I'm loving the game! I don't think it's a small game at all. The map is just not as detailed as the game. There are all sorts of surprising elements. Def. worth the rating.

so what is the special "bonus" if you own mighty flip champs??
#34
XnessX said:
ya know the funny thing is in the video for shantae: risky's revenge, they said that nintendo life gave the game a rating of 9/10, when it actually got a 10/10 rating!

@Xness@
The bonus is that you get some extra coins (100 I think?) which can be used for spending in shops for supplies etc. (kind of like in rpgs). It's not necessary but it can be helpful.

This game needs to be released on PAL DSiWare, like, 2 months ago. There's no excuse for withholding a gem like this from us Europeans when we've had garbage like 101 Shark Pets inflicted on us recently

@xnessx: you can get upt to 600 bonus coins... rupees... whatever it's called (isn't told in-game). You get 100 for owning it, 200 for beating it and another 300 for S-ranking verything. If you want to explore everything you're getting ruppes like hay, so you don't really need it. It's only useful if you want to speed run the game, with this you can buy the necessary magic, some magic jam upgrades and still complete it under 2 hours.
