I'm curious about something. If you feel compelled, please comment in this thread with a list of the demos you've downloaded, and for each, indicate if that particular demo...
made you more likely to buy the game
made you less likely to buy the game
convinced you to definitely buy the game
convinced you to definitely avoid the game
By all means be as specific or thorough as you like in your reply, but let's try not to sidetrack discussion for the purposes of this thread. (Feel free to start a discussion thread of your own though!) I'm just trying to get an idea of raw responses.
I'll add my own impressions at some point, but the only demo I've played so far is for a game I already own (Bit. Trip: Beat), so I'll add my own reply when I get to the rest of them.
Bit.Trip Beat- more likely to buy the game. This was much better than I expected for a souped up Pong game and for 600 points it seems like a good deal. I really enjoyed it. To be honest this game was never on my radar until now.
World of Goo -- More likely to buy the game. I was very skeptical about the game when it came out and almost completely forgot about it until now.
Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar. Please contact me before using my custom avatar!

FFCC: Darklord: 1) Clever dialogue and great visuals! 2) Slow and repetitive 3) Well, it's cheaper than My Life as a King! 4) I hate slow games... but very strategic
Nyxquest: 1) Platforming FTW 2) Slow pacing of gameplay 3) Interesting story 4) Too expensive to buy
Pokemon Rumble: 1) Surprisingly fun gameplay 2) Repetitive and easy 3) Quite a large amount of gameplay (for a demo) 4) Repetitive is the enemy!
I now feel more inclined to purchase FFCC : MLaaD. I was interested at first playing Bit. Trip Beat but it didn't seem difficult enough to offer enough replay value.
(Just accidentally deleted my whole post, so work with me here. ) Bit.Trip Beat: More likely to buy the game. I would DL it now (I have 700 points) but I'm afraid it will be too hard and frustrating for me. Will probably get it if I ever beat (pun, haha) the demo. Pokemon Rumble: Convinced you to definitely buy the game. Mindless fun, great presentation, seems full-featured...what's not to like? A certain review is trying to convince me otherwise, though... I already have and love Goo and NyxQuest, and FF doesn't even remotely interest me.
I was reassured in my conviction to buy Pokemon Rumble because it's a nice change of pace from the RPG games and pretty fun to boot. Also, Charmander is adorable, even more adorable than usual, so that helps a lot. Fire Pokemon for the win!
I'm now entirely convinced to buy Bit.Trip Beat, as it's the trippiest game of Pong I've ever tripped on. Not that I've ever actually played Pong while tripping, but you get the idea. It was crazy insane and lotsa fun to play. Also, I think it affected my brain, but in a good way. All the colors are funky, woo yaaaaaaaaaay...

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits - Demo convinced me to definitely buy the game. The platforming and object-IR-control were awesome, and I want more. Bit.Trip: Beat - Demo convinced me to definitely avoid the game. My eyes went way out of wack a quarter of the way through the demo. Pokemon Rumble - Demo made me more likely to buy the game. I loved the graphics, and the combat was addicting World of Goo - Demo made me less likely to buy the game. The gameplay didn't grab me, to be honest.
Crystal Chronicles wasn't even on my radar before now, but after playing the demo I'm probably going to pick it up, I loved the deep and strategic gameplay and it looks to have quite a bit of customization. I didn't care about Pokemon Rumble beforehand either since I'm not a Pokemon fan, and the demo was enjoyable but a bit shallow. Plus I'm also turned off by the hefty price tag. Already own the other three games.

You said it better than I could have myself. Also, it made me really not want to buy Final Fantasy. Mainly cause it was way too slow.

Wow, that's... exactly the opposite of what I was thinking! I've already got World of Goo (BUT, it was the PC demo that convinced me to get it!), I have no interest in Pokemon Rumble, Bit.Trip Beat I'lll probably get sometime, and NyxQuest... maybe. And I didn't like FFCC at all.

I already had World of Goo, FFCC:MLaaDL, and Bit.Trip:Beat.
Pokémon Rumble - The demo got me to buy it and so far I'm enjoying the game, especially in multiplayer. NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits- Not as fun as others made it sound. The demo made me want to completely avoid it as I found the game play to be slow and kind of boring.
I just played the demo for Blip Bleep Bloop. It was awesome and I bought it. The developers, Ganja, made a simple yet addictive and fun game. Love the music.
For me, no change... I already got Icarian and I had no intension on ever getting BTB or FFCC:MLAAD and after trying the demos I still have no plans to buy them...
All the demos (save for World of Goo since I already have it), convinced me to download these games. I had heard so much of the Bit Trip, and was very happy to have tried out the first game. Its now on my "to buy" list.
