Topic: WORST Wii U eShop purchases

I now regret buying the Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara . Maybe I'll like it later but I thought I was in for some cool Golden Axe in HD, and it turns out it's some crappy graphical bad response game... I'm not sure what to make of it even. I hardly found it playable. Then again it was a 5 minutes impression. Impulse buy.

Spot The Differences! Party

This is the worst 'spot the difference' game I ever played.

First of all: There's a terrible audio glitch alarm sound in multiplayer.

Comparing Spot The Differences! Party Wii U (Sanuk Games) to another 5€ game
on the same system: 5 Spots Party WiiWare (Cosmonaut Games).

  • Do you have a fair amount of time to find all five different spots?
    STDP: No, it's damn fast!!
    5SP: Yea, Just right!
  • Will the game show you the missing differences upon 'time over'?
STDP: No, the picture just fades away.
5SP: Yes, it shows you all missing differences.
  • How are differences marked?
    STDP: An ugly drawn circle.
5SP: A clean and neat box.
  • How many modes are in the game?
STDP: Just one boring single player mode and two multiplayer modes, one of which is glitchy.
5SP: You can play all three single player modes with up to 4 players.
  • What about highscores?
STDP: Local, a Top 5 for the singleplayer mode.
5SP: Local, a Top 10 for each of the 3 modes, plus a named rank.
  • What about the picture quality?
STDP: Generic photographs with lame differences in HD quality. More than 300 pics.
5SP: Funny pictures, with intelligent and humorous differences in SD quality. More than 300 pics.
  • What about sound and music?
STDP: Most boring and shortest loop of all time. It doesn't even loop correctly. And extremely bad sound effects.
5SP: Good quality tune, excellent sound effects.

This is definately my new worst Wii U game.

Another issue is that the GamePad AND first Wiimote are Player One. So you can't play a 4-player match with just the GamePad and 3 Wiimotes. You will need four Wiimotes regardless.

Wii U should have gotten the shiniest best search game ever. But this is garbage.

I still can't get over how someone can mess up a searchgame.....

I don't know why people are complaining about the 30c VC titles. Not all of them were fantastic but they were all 30c so how can it be a bad purchase? If you got all of them you paid $2.10 which wouldn't get you a coffee in most places. Also personally I've probably spent quite a lot of time on some of those titles. Super Metroid, F-Zero, Punch-Out!! ..... just saying...

Anyways, worst purchases. Probably Little Inferno for me. Paid $10AU for it and was finished with it in one sitting. It was cool and by no means horrible but I don't feel like I got much value out of it. There's so much good content out there now on the eShop that I wouldn't really recommend it if someone asked. Everything else I got, including Trine 2, I put a fair amount of time into and had enough fun with relative to the cost that I think they were worth it.

All the kirby games. Got them on some deal day 1, and I had never played them. Not my thing and it seemes super easy, which if I wanted easy I would just play most the PS3 and MS best selling games.

Gotta catch them... eh, nevermind.

Ditto with that comment .., I actually grew up with the original .. The gameplay is totally different, way to many cutscenes ... Really didn't enjoy it at all... Makes me wish the original was the virtual console

Honestly I'm a fan of way forward's work this project was not one of their finest

Actually, I was meaning the opposite - when that's the worst I've got, I'm doing pretty good so far. I actually played the original Ducktales before playing the remake, and I watched clips of the show to refresh my memory and get ready for it. Ultimately, I thought everything they added really made the game better in so many ways. Honestly, I don't think I could go back to the original after playing this.

Donkey Kong and Kirbys Adventure.. then again i got them for 30 cents each... so... cant say that i am full of regret or anything. Perhaps DuckTales: Remastered then, it was short, not that good - if still playable - and very expensive in terms of what it was actually offering.

Definitely the Wii U panorama videos. I thought they looked cool when they first showed them, but was disappointed with their low resolution and value.

After that would probably be Trine 2. It looked awesome, but I don't think the gameplay lives up to those great visuals. It's currently the only eshop game I own (besides the $0.30 VC games) that I haven't beaten and am not actively playing.

Didn't like Runner 2. The presentation, wicked characters and Charles Martinet as narrator are great but the ovrrall gameplay is so boring, repetetive and uninventive.

Puddle. Nowhere near competes with the amazing physics and puzzles of Fluidity. You just tilt left and right. No matter how hard or fast you tilt, the physics are the exact same.

Chasing aurora. That was just bad.

Funny, I loved trine2, toki tori 2, among others. Shows there's always someone with different tastes somewhere
