I'll pick all 3 up despite already owning them, Wii Mode is a nuisance after all. Looks forward more to the next wave given Kirby's Adventure Wii is one of them (didn't get to play it).

I may pick up what i don't already have but most Wii games are really cheap like I got Punch Out this year for £3 so it will depend.

I've just read on a forum that those Wii Downloaded Games are displayed in 1080p. I'm not saying that they ARE in 1080p, but they display in this resolution, as Super Nes & Nes games in their Wii U's Virtual Console versions.
That woud make the picture perfectly crisp and not a little blury as in the Wii U's Wii Mode or with a physical Wii plugged on an HD TV.

Can anyone here confirm that ? Because if it's true... It will be far more better than the disc versions ! (it would also explain why disc versions still requires to go to Wii mode)

According to the eShop page, Super Mario Galaxy 2 displays in 1080p.

I wonder if third party companies will join in on this eventually, I'd like to see games like Bit.Trip Complete, Namco Museum Megamix, and Sonic Colors be part of this.

Now they are doing this they must do GCN games too using the same technique. Please?

Metroid Prime Trilogy for $19.99/$9.99 if you buy it first week when used copies go for absurd prices on ebay is a steal. I'm surprised Nintendo picked that one when they could've just sold Corruption separately.

The EU direct confirmed Kirby's Adventure Wii (i.e Return To Dreamland), Pandora's Tower and Sin & Punishment: Star Successor as well.

I wonder if Nintendo will release Mario Kart Wii on the VC. Probably not before the MK8 DLC comes out if they do.

I will be downloading some but not if they are full price. Hopefully every Wii game is half price for the first week and not just the first three games. Kirby would be a day one download if its £8.99.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

While it wasn't mentioned in the Direct, but Metroid Prime 3 originally had Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection features, I wonder if these Digital Wii releases will have Nintendo Network features. Imagine a game like Mario Kart Wii getting released as part of this with Nintendo Network bringing back Mario Kart Wii online.

Hardly anything supports the classic controller. Only Sin & Punishment out of the list (And that game is better with the wiimote).

If DKCR supports the gamepad controls I will get it otherwise I won't.

Great idea. Definitely getting MP Trilogy? We all want a new Metroid game, especially Prime style? We will have the chance to prove it on the 29th.

I'm getting the impression this is Nintendo's attempt to undercut stores like Gamestop while making some extra money on older games along the way.

I'm kinda hoping the Xenoblade gets the same treatment on the Wii U as well. At 10 bucks, that one would totally be a steal. Especially since its one of the few games that don't have annoying motion controls getting in the way of the game.

A major issue with me when it comes to many Wii games.

Was posted on NL's article and I decided to repost my comment here so its in this forum now rather than later

Answering some questions that may/are getting asked
Running Galaxy 2 on the Wii U right now
The game boots into the Wii Mode still, but ONLY to run the game & use save data so unfortunately there is no miiverse support with these downloads, when you return to the wii menu it actually brings you back to the wii u menu and your playtime is recorded through the wii u's daily log and not the vwii's

The game still runs the way it originally did, tho if you got your wii u set to 1080p the game will display like it did in wii mode via the disc, 480p displayed as 1080p with black borders.

Do my wii saves work? YES since the system has to boot into Wii mode in order to run the game you are able to access your save data.

So, overall this is a very convienent way for Nintendo to offer games to us, Prime Trilogy being a PRIME example, for $10 that game is a absolute steal. Hopefully we get good games from this and hopefully its actually supported continually..... unlike another service i know of, i'm looking at you Virtual Console.

So, have just downloaded and installed Galaxy 2. Runs nice and smoothly, loads existing save data. Just to clarify, obviously required nunchuck and wii remote to play. Nothing else to say really, other than I've just paid £8 for a game I already have on disc.

So, no added Pro Controller or Game Pad Support?

Bummer, I might have gotten it if they had allowed other control schemes.
