Favorites: Platformers Racing games RPG's Adventure Rythm Games Point and Click
Least favorite: Sports Educational Fighting. (Exception Smash bros. though it could be considered not a fighter) Mini-games. Dating Sims Sims in general
Ristar the Shooting Star and DoReMi Fantasy: Milon's DokiDoki Adventure are both topnotch platformers, and two of my many favorite video games of all time.
Ahhh, i was guessing you were into Starfy based on your Avatar.
Yes, I do like The Legendary Starfy on the DS. It's one of my top favorite DS games, as well as Chrono Trigger and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and more. No, the star in my avatar is not Starfy, although to be quite honest, I never noticed the resemblance until it was brought up, lol. Also, the mouth is something you'll barely ever see in any of my avatars (although maybe someday I may change that, if ever I take it into consideration). I think you were having fun when you capitalized the O in the middle of the word, and I'm cool with that.
The majority of my collection is comprised of platformers.
Platformers (of all kinds) Action Adventure (or Action RPGs) Non-seious sports (eg. Mario&Sonic, Wii Sports etc) Puzzle Racing Fighting Point and Click Some mini game compilations Shooters (especially duck hunt, wii play style) Some strategy games Some FPSs Some fitness/personal development games (eg. Wii Fit Plus)
Don't like:
Conventional RPGs (I've retired myself) Poor mini game compilations Sims style games Overly hardcore, non-acccessible games Siulated sports (eg. Tiger Woods, PES etc) War games Hardcore FPSs
Favorites: Platformers Adventure games RPGs Puzzle
Least favorite: FPS (with few exceptions) Sports (Wrestling games and Blitz games excluded) Racing (Mario Kart games excluded) Beat-'em-ups (retro ones excluded)

Apparently, not a lot of you care for sim-style sports games. Personally, it's not among among my favorite genres, but I love a good game of MVP Baseball or Madden NFL. NHL '10's Wii version looks great. I'll be picking it up in a couple of months.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

The games that I have said I don't like are more ones I don't get into. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate them. Eg, I don't like playing RPGs much but have Pokemon Platinum and Bowsers Inside Story as they are the top of their game genre.
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
favorite genre is shooter and my least favorite is racing game( except mario kart...i love that game! i could never get with ones like burnout or need for speed but for shooter i just love them forever
Favourite - FPS, Racing, 3D Platformers (as rare as they may be), Shmups, Puzzle... in fact, I like all genres of game except the following...
Least Favourite - Turn Based RPG's, I don't know how you can all play them it's beyond me, I like to play games not flick through menus. I like to react to incoming attacks not just stand there and take it in the face patiently waiting for my turn. Yawn!!! Oh, and grinding gives fetch-quests a good name.
There's no such thing as a shump. Where did you see that? I take it you meant a shmup, which stands for shoot-'em-up, which is a slang term for scrolling shooters such as Gradius or R-Type, or Ikaruga, if you need a more modern example.

Least Favorite: FPS ( Apart from Metroid Prime Trilogy)
Except the Metroid Prime games aren't FPSes, they're action adventure games with a first-person perspective.
Your primary attack is to shoot, therefore it is technically an FPS. It just also includes a lot of exploration, so the best description is "first-person shooter and adventure."

Actually, the best description would be a First-Person Metroid game, since the series is practically a genre all its own. It combines action, exploration, puzzle solving, and platforming. In Matroid Prime, you have all that with a First-Person persective. What differentiates it from FPSes are the fact that shooting is far more simplistic than in any FPS I've ever seen, and generally requires much less skill, especially in the Gamecube games, where you have a Lock-on function. There's also a greater emphasis on puzzle-solving, exploration, and platforming, all of which are generally rare in FPSes.
I'm just saying, it's not an FPS. To say it is is an insult both to Metroid, and to FPSes.
