I want a Wii so I can play Gamecube games in progressive scan, i.e. component cables. (Has anyone else tried that?) Does anyone have any idea why Nintendo did this?
If I recalled thats why Nintendo did get rid of the GC compatibility so the Wii was cheaper. You can always just keep an eye out at Gamestop or any other place that sells used Wiis and I am sure that one with the GC parts in it will pop up.

No, they've given us a new console, new 1st & 2nd party games, some VC games, have several more games in development. That's what we know, and what they've done. So they've done more than nothing, nothing would be if they dropped all production and support and called it quits at the end of the Wii's life-cycle. For all we know they are working on N64 & GC VC but they're having more trouble than they thought they would with them.
@octane Not sure who your comment was directed at. In case it was me, I do have all of my previous consoles (GC included). I would like a GC VC for convenience sake, as most of my retro consoles are boxed away cause her indoors will get the ump if I have them all connected.
It's not the lack of GC VC that annoys me, it's the lack of anynews at all, and the drip feeding of VC games that are already on Wii VC for years
@shaneoh would it be easier you not engage in this subject if it bothers you so much?
