Hello there. I posted this thread because I like to hear what you think of the Wii. Give out as many details as possible about your opinion on it, telling about what's good and what needs to be fixed. It can be positive or negitive and I will respect all comments.
I love It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reasons why: 1. Has motion control(could be improved though) 2. Fairly good game library(could be better) 3. VC!!(enough said) 4.Wiiware(enough said)
Improvements: 1. more memory 2. more VC games 3. more nintendo franchise games
I own both Wii and Xbox360, and i play more my X360 (like 60% X360 to 50% Wii.... Yes, I give 110% to my gaming). Now that the 'play directly from the SD card' update happened, I really don't have anything against the Wii. I think it is the only true next-gen system because it offers something different to the gameplay and not just a shiny new coat of paint with new graphics like the PS3 or Xbox360.
Now playing: (Wii - DJ Hero 2) (WiiWare / VC - -- / --) (Game Cube - Second Sight) (DS / GBA - Eragon / --) (Xbox360 - Burnout Paradise) (XBLA / XBIG - Puzzle Quest / --) Wii FC - 2346 1195 9083 7926 XBOX360 Gamertag - BrazCanMan

Well said. For being the first of its kind, it's hard to hate on it that much
I've played games since the first console wars and ive always chose nintendo and though there are a lot of haters for the wii I still think its the best current console, yea I would like better voice chat and no more pestering friend codes but the virtual console alone sold me a wii and everything else is perfect!
It's the only console I own, I used to have a PS2...but once the Wii came in the PS2 went bye bye (only got it to play Kingdom Hearts and a few other games anyway). The Wii is awesome to me, with the Virtual Console, WiiWare, that fancy little controller.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I Love the Wii for the VC and the motion controls, I think the Wii could do with a lot more VC titles, I'm dreaming about Sega putting the old Mega Drive joy pads back in production but that's me. I hate to think how Nintendo will top the Wii because it will take a lot to out "do" the Wii it's sold 50 million units that SNES like figures!! (that's more than the N64 and Game cube put together) I'm also pleased there's better storage on the Wii though the SD card. I really think the big N will announce different coloured Wii's and then sales of the system will go into over drive. I'm not going but I'm looking forward to E3!!!!!
Here's my opinion of the Wii. I think the Wii is a great system to play and despite receiving many haters towards the majority of the hardcore gamers, it made me the hardcore gamer I am today. Giving us the option to download 301 classic video games in there original form is a bargain that Sony and Microsoft has not bothered to do. I also love the use of motion controls, it makes you feel like that your actually in the game, not just mashing buttons like the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Also great about the Wii is that it introduce online play to Nintendo home consoles, this is one of the main reason why I love the Wii. Sure it could use some catch up to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in terms of online, but like the PSN and Xbox Live, it's improving. I also like the decent selection of games on the Wii, be it Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero World Tour or Sonic Unleashed. And there's games to come, such as Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Read the exciting preview on Game Informers June, 2009 Magazine), The Conduit, and Wii Sports: Resort.
However, it's not perfect. The Virtual Console has been down lately and usually a poor update now. When will we get back to the two-game weeks?
Overall, a great console that manage to brust in sales.
I love it, but it's been really bad lately. It's been about a year since I've actually bought a Wii game! but this year seems to be the Wii's year with the Conduit and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom coming out, plus the Pokemon remakes and a new Mario game. Can't wait to get those
One thing I can't stand about the Wii is the amount of extra controllers I have to get for it! I'll have to buy two Classic Controllers so that I can actually play a fighting game on the thing!
Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction. - Albert Einstein on the Wii
They need a completely different online system, and less rehashes. They need to stop worrying about trash talking online, and let people have fun. If people don't like a certain person online, there should be a mute button. There are parental controls as well. There is no reason for the online games to be so crippled in their features.

Let me put it this way: Last generation, I did not have a game console. And I entirely gave up on PC gaming. It was all so bland and over-commercialized to the point where I felt like I couldn't find any games that I actually wanted to play. Which was really frustrating for me, since I absolutely adore the golden age of PC and Console gaming. (i.e. 16-bit consoles and 486's.)
The Wii rejuvenated my love for gaming. Not only were the motion controls a brilliant stroke, but the easy access to classic titles both remembered and never tried was a key selling point. Add in the GameCube support*, WiiWare, & the Opera browser and you had the makings of a console that keeps me playing it on a regular basis. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and have practically no desire to spend the money on a competing console.
* When I got a Wii, I busied myself with purchasing some used GCN games for cheap. I'm sad to say that the vast majority of them are dull and uninspired. Even many of the ones from Nintendo. Mario Kart DD was a mistake and Sunshine put a real dampener on the Mario series.
I loved my Wii about a year before it was released. But, recently I had horrid noises coming out of it, and had to stop buying VC games as I got sick of deleting games. I was close to disliking my Wii. It was painful.
Then Nintendo released 'that update', and I performed a Tri-Wing operation, and now we are back in love!
Bought Tenchu and Little Kings Story yesterday, and loved my Wii till about 4am. Yeah baby.
I love the Wii for many reasons. I don't dislike anything, but I find a few flaws for the Wii.
Likes.
1. Great games (I don't care what anybody says) 2. Virtual Console 3. Wii Ware 4. Wiimote 5. Online access 6. Makes you want to stand and play. Hurts my feet, but I love it. 7. The only system to ever give me a black eye, true story (Raymond Raving Rabbids Cow Toss). 8. Kid friendly. I like it that I don't have to worry about explicit language, blood, and sex. Nintendo does well with keeping most of their games clean and I appreciate this.
Flaws
1. No Virtual Console or Wiiware release schedule. Takes too long for games to come out when you first hear about them. 2. Seems to be a bit too fragile. Mine has troubles reading disks. Still seems too young to be doing this already. 3. Buying a Nunchuck and a Wiimote is silly and expensive. Why not combine the two together and give us better pricing. 4. Not enough games can be played well online. This is the future of gaming and Nintendo needs to do better in catering to the fans.
Since the Wii is my primary console, it's hard to keep it in such a good light. I've a love, hate relationship with the Wii, not because of the hardware. The hardware's fine. It's just the support behind the console and Nintendo's overall "whatever" strategy with it that grinds my gears.
Pros: 1. No More Heroes. 2. Virtual Console and WiiWare. 3. Free online. 4. Support from developers like High Voltage Software.
Cons: 1. Great, exclusive games are few and far between. 2. Lackluster releases for Virtual Console, plus no schedule for releases. 3. Overall handling of WiiWare is garbage, and should be rethought. One of two things that I've noticed about the service is that it's managed poorly. Publishers don't know when their games are going to make it onto the platform. Huge problem. Payment from the service is an issue; You need to sell so many copies to make money. It's not advertised well enough. What's the first game that comes to mind that was "advertised"? That's right. World of Goo, which was, in my opinion, heavily over-rated. Especially for how much it cost. Next up, variety. I never really saw anything unique on the platform. Not to mention Nintendo doesn't really have anything on it themselves. I want my light version of a side-scrolling Mario, please. The only two bodies I can think of that have supported the system from the start are Hudson and High Voltage Software. Square was sorta late on the game, and I don't know if that's a good thing. We're getting, essentially, three tower defense games from them: R1, R2, and My Life as a Darklord. I really want more stuff like Lost Winds, and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. It doesn't look like we're getting any of those any time soon, considering Nintendo's release strategy. Not to mention the advertisement (or lack thereof) for the service is infuriating. There are no messages telling you of what has come out for the service. Seriously, it's a no-brainer to just send a simple message to your Wii, letting you know of not just WiiWare, but everything going on with WiiWare. 4. Online is crap. No matter what some false survey was made a while ago, nobody, nobody likes, appreciates, or should bother with Friend Codes. Having such a "protective" and blind environment shouldn't really need the stupid numbers, not to mention when you have no such way to communicate with your opponents, you don't need them. Oh, and don't me started on how their plan on "communicating" with other people is freaking retarded. 5. The complete controller should be there day one; Not a peripheral I should pay for later on to play my games. 6. Act as if your competitors are actual competitors, not just "the other people". You're all in the same industry, don't be so ignorant. 7. Quality control is so weak this generation for Nintendo. The over saturation of what I don't want to play is so high that it makes me want to vomit. Bring back the Nintendo Seal of Quality, please.
