Wow. For such a critically hated console, it's received mostly positive opinions with you guys. Even the people who doesn't exactly like the Wii I can understand your opinions. Not so outside here, where you'll find that the majority of the hardcore gamers are about fed up. Which gives me an idea.

Why not adversite Nintendo Life on Youtube? It'll turn some Wii haters heads around or at least get them to respect the Wii.

The best video game machine of all time. I take away a few points from it though because of small storage space, graphics limitations, overall quality of games. Although they have been picking up lately in the games department.

Yeah, this is really the most active and best Nintendo Wii forum around as far as I'm concerned. Hats off to us!

my only complaint is all the peripherals (or how you spell it) first i dont see why we must use GC memonry cards, couldnt they like use internal memory or something just copy the files you have from a GC memory to the internal memory. Also why cant i use classic controller for gc games, i hate the gc controller all purple and sticking out of the wii besides that i got nothing to complain about.

I wish it was just the internet. Video game clubs consistently reject my comments because I'm a Wii fan. I'm even dismissed as a potential customer a various Gamestops when I mention Wii. I must not know anything about games because my favorite current-gen video game console is Wii. I like all game consoles but my favorite is Wii. If you think about it and look pass all the party-centric shovelware, Wii has a much more diverse line-up than the other consoles plus a wide range of visual styles as Wii owners don't constantly beg for complete realism. Like the DS, there is a unique balance of crap, quality, and ports. Most have a negative outlook on Wii and only look at the bad while completely ignoring the great. 2008 was a joke I agree, but the other years were great and the goods just keep coming. I just wish ppl didn't give me funny looks whenever I bring the system up.

Don't worry. I'm in the same place when it comes to the internet. Most of the hardcore gamers think that I'm a casual gamer, when I have been gaming for ten years. To this day, I'm on a mission to bring common sense to the majority of the hardcore gamers.

Oh and TheWiiRocks, try to find what comments would be like on a person who defended the Wii so I can get your point better.

I wouldn't have kept it if it wasn't for the Virtual Console to be honest. It usually just gathers dust, I've only recently gone back on it. I hate the live play of it, but it is getting better with Wii Speak. And there are a few games which I do love on the Wii.

If we can manage to get 50 positive or at least reasonably negitive comments in this topic, I think we'll be able to show those exterme Wii haters that we're not some casual gamers who plays Wii Fit or Carnival Games, but hardcore gamers who grew up with Nintendo.

Ha! Good luck with that mate. Theres Wii haters, 360 haters, PS3 haters, PC haters, PSP Haters, DS haters and so on, no one listens to each other on the internet, especially when it comes to gaming forums. So while you have got a noble cause, I doubt anyones gonna listen, besides 50 gamers out of God knows how many won't be able to convince them. Pretty much everyone is stubborn, you just get the odd few who aren't.

Just visit Youtube sometime. Pick a Wii or DSi video at random and read the comments. The mean IQ is somewhere around 30 points.

/me types in DSi vs PSP and picks one at random

Not too much different than the comic above.

Lazy developers is probably the biggest con. Part of the industry still doesn't take Wii serious, but that's slowly turning around.

But as far as I'm concerned, it's produced some of the best videos games I've ever played (I'm looking at you, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy) as well as some of the most unique (No More Heroes, Madworld). And, most importantly, it's keeping 2D gaming alive! Cannot wait for Muramasa and A Boy & His Blob.

Being a fan of magical and colourful (and unique) games makes me think that once again I've bought the right console. I honestly don't care about polygon count or HD at all (only about the artstyle) so I don't see any need to buy any other console - I've got way too many games to play and about a dozen I haven't even started on. That's not counting VC and WW.

Having lazy developers are a huge cons, they are one of the major reasons why there are so many Wii haters. I don't mean just someone who said "I dislike the Wii", I mean "DA WII ES SOW HORIPBULB!". But like you've said, things are turning around the Wii is better then before.

I have to agree. There are lots of great games for the Wii. Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Sonic Unleashed for the Wii, and Guitar Hero World Tour. We also have some WiiWare goodies, such as Onslaught (We hold the world record for the first original FPS on any downloadable service), Bomberman Blast, Tetris Party, and Dr. Mario Online RX. And don't get me started on the Virtual Console.

Like you, I'm a huge fan of original and games from famous franchises, such as Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man. I love to be able to play installments after installments of those franchise, plus that I also like playing new and original games. The Wii is also reviving 2D (I was pleased with renting Wario Land: Shake It!). While it may have some issues they need to work on, as I said before, it's a great console, but people outside of Nintendo Life are so stubborn, I know what's going to happen if E3 don't turn out there way (Which gives me an idea for a new thread on Nintendo Life).

Oh and to expand on the lazy developers thing, it has to be said: it makes sense. Good, high quality, original and unique IP's on the Wii - the reason I bought the Wii - don't sell. Or at the very least poorly. There are so few good (non-Nintendo) games that sell well on the Wii, it's crazy and I don't understand why. Where's the audience that's buying Resident Evil, why aren't they buying all the other good games? It really annoys, almost angers, me that there's such a big group of gamers that are ignoring these jewels... or just renting or downloading them, which is stupid. Thanks to these people we're not going to be getting games like Madworld 2 - or a lot more 3rd party support in general.
In many ways were incredibly lucky to be getting games like No More Heroes 2, I honestly wasn't counting on it when I saw the disappointing sales. Respect to all the developers that do take these risks, it's really unfortunate seeing how - more often than not - their products barely seem to be selling enough to cover the costs. Honestly, the amount of 3rd party support is surprising and I can only hope it will be a self fulfilling prophecy (more traditional games -> more traditional/core gamers that buy the wii -> more sales for these traditional games -> more traditional games) because right now, if I was a developer, I wouldn't be taking the risk. Just look at the pathetic Little King's Story (88% on GameRankings) sales. Blah.

Your right. Most of the great third-party games on the Wii bomb in sales. Even worse, quickly made casual games such as Carnival games manage to rip off so many people. If "The Conduit" don't sell well or isn't good, Nintendo could lose so many hardcore gamers to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Shut up! Are you serious? You've gotten stick from staff at a game shop?

Gimme some anecdotes man; I was just Stateside recently and the perkiness of many shop staff (I didn't set foot in Gamestop though) was quite bizarre, though I guess that's what people like over there...I cannot imagine someone being that rude when they're supposed to just sell you stuff.

Not really surprising. Most Gamestop employees are very young, and usually aren't most brightest bulbs around. They like videogames, but due their age, they still think that there is single, de facto console. Stores like Gamestop exploit this love shamefully, because these kids still think it is somewhat cool to work for slave wage in videogame store. It is basically same thing that kids dream about working on candy factory.
