I found it to be a nice title. But there isnt anything truly compelling to seperate it to the rest of the series. It tried with fishing and the wolf. But they didnt prove enough for me to consider it better than the other 3d Zeldas, except maybe Ocarina. Its good. Just not groundbreaking

I stayed up till 4 in the mornin' on launch night because of TP (not the bunghole variety) and I loved every minute of that beautiful game (I'm a Zelda nut btw). But I haven't played it again yet, I'm saving that pleasure.

Saying that, I have played Ocarina, Majora's and Wind Waker since then, which could suggest something, or not. I'll play it again when I finish Okami, it's about time me thinks. I'm tempted to try the GC version tbh, I don't know why, could be cos I love that controller soooo much.

I'm desperate for new Zelda info! 0_o Starting to get pangs.

Good point, that would have been freaky thinking about it.

I loved Twilight Princess, but it's true, it just doesn't have the replayability of other Zelda titles, and that's what's keeping it from being up there with the best. I think it's because it was such a serious title. It was amazing, but there's just so much to it, it takes a lot of time, and the right mindset to get into it. I liked Windwaker better, but TP was still amazing. I refuse to play the Wii version; Link is not right-handed, and why flip the entire game just because most people are right handed? That's just stupid.

I liked it, like everyone else said its no my favorite but it is one of my top Zelda games. Wish it had a harder difficulty level though.

It was the Wii version they flipped the maps in.

And to those that don't have the game yet, but are determined to get it, get the Gamecube version. The mapping to Wii controls (save for the bow) is mediocre at best, everything else is... ugh. The best aspect of the game is the music, a reccurringly good aspect of all Zelda titles. The sidequests are simply not appealing to play, as you're not going to collect poe spirits to rescue some greedy old man who doesn't deserve saving (what does he even give you in the end, anyway?), and you're not going to want to hunt down miniscule, scarce, and barely even visible golden insects, for the purpose of increasing your wallet capacity. Let's compare these to the quests in other games... Gold Skulltulas on Ocarina of Time, sure, it may not have been easy to get all of them, but you only really needed 50 to get the main prize, and even then, 500 is far more than you'll ever really need. And of course, the sidequests in Majora's Mask weren't collect-a-thons, and they were by far some of the best in the series, due to involving you so much in the characters lives.

And why do you need to put rupees back in chests because your wallets full? It's incredibly annoying when you're trying to get every last chest in a dungeon to hunt down that one small key to get everything, and it makes everything take a whole lot longer. Speaking of rupees, why tell us "You got a yellow rupee! That's worth 10 rupees!" every single time you pick one up? That makes everything take even more time.

Starting with the Water Palace, everything is just a chore. The best item in the game, and the only real innovation (the spinner) is perhaps the least used item there, likely tied to the dominion rod, which was also a decent item. The graphics are muddy, and brown, making everything even more dull.
Also, the game breaks too many traditions. Link is left handed, not right handed. There are 4 pieces of heart in a heart container, not 5. So on, and so forth.

I could write so much more about why it's my least favourite Zelda game, but I need some sleep right now.

I liked the Clawshots more than the spinner, wish those things were real. XD

i thought it was a good game, i liked the story, the graphics were great, we (me and a dear friend) saw the ganondorf is really the final boss thingy coming, and the second clawshot, but the final fight was epic, even considering games like assasin's creed, oblivion's, and Force Unleashed 's sword battles..

I enjoyed it, although I've never been a big fan of the 3-D Zelda titles.

Plain old gamer :)

Its a great game, I think it should be switched up because fans maybe took it for granted, and its nice to see Zelda evolve.

Fans tend to bitch about the changes to the series (Major's Clock, WIndwaker Graphics, Touch Control Fears, Oh no's Crossbw Training disgraces the series!), but at the same time they claim to want something new, it is a bit of a paradox.

I thought that Nintendo was pandering to fans of Ocarina with this game, and I hope like - Ricky Nelson - they come to this conclusion :

'Its all right now -
I have learned my lesson well
you can't please everyone -
so you have to please yourself'

I hope when screens and video of the new Zelda are shown they scare the crap out of the fanboys. Even though the last 4 consoles Zeldas are/were all pretty different, the core is the same.....motion plus should be a game changer.

Back to TP -

I loved the music, I loved the pointer controls, I liked the art direction, the wolf was fine, especially animal interaction, and this game had some of the more inventive dungeons - the wInd one, the mansion one, and the mine one stand out for me. I also liked bug collecting - you have to admit that was pretty random. And the fishing is the best fishing game on wii, wait for motion plus, maybe?

Am sick of the extreme linear story progression, would like a 'fuller' (or smaller!) overworld, and less really weak enemies...

Bottom line my thoughts is this game is probably a little underrated by fans cause they compare it to Ocarina and Ocarina was like Babe Ruth - you cannot replace or make ppl forget legends.

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

I thought it was great, if a little bit stale. Everything's been done before, they switch things up a little, but mostly they just throw a different skin on it. As always, the dungeons are the real meat of the game, and a not-so-different Zelda title is better than no Zelda. I wish they would have stuck with the Wind Waker aesthetic myself--it was timeless. Oh, and the hours long tutorial sucks.
EDIT: Link doesn't have to be right handed: this isn't the same Link, right?

Or whatever you call that whole boring stretch at the beginning of the game. The "intro", I suppose. I prefer the quick and simple Link to the Past intro, ya know?

both of these

It was the second game I got on the Wii and its still one of my favourites. The story might have been a bit cliché but the music was divine, the controls were effortless and the characters (particularly Midna) were interesting and charming. I had never played a 3D Zelda before so after finishing it I downloaded Ocarina and was left disappointed. Twilight Princess is better than Ocarina... I think people hold Ocarina up as something that it isn't... There is no way any game will ever be able to compare to that even if it is as brilliant as Twilight Princess.

To me Twilight Princess is to Ocarina like Super Mario Galaxy is to Mario 64. Perhaps the next Zelda needs a huge gameplay changer but given how people reacted to Wind Waker and the Train in the up-comming Spirit Tracks.... Its not really clear if people even want Zelda to change. :S
