I'm starting this topic to find the most underrated games that are available for Wii. I look for games like these all the time but I haven't found many games on my own, so I'm wanting to here some of Nintendo Life's users to mention a few underrated Wii Hits. Also if your wondering what qualifies as an underrated Wii hit, then it means that the game is given bad reviews (But Liked by some) or had very poor sales.
Got it for 13€ used in GameStop. This compilation has 6 games. Even in PAL territories it's all uncut, in 60Hz, full speed, with extra features (unlike the VC versions) 1... Samurai Shodown (Neo Geo, 1993) 2... Samurai Shodown II (Neo Geo, 1994) 3... Samurai Shodown III (Neo Geo, 1995) 4... Samurai Shodown IV (Neo Geo, 1996) 5... Samurai Shodown V (Neo Geo, 2003) 6... Samurai Shodown VI (PlayStation2, 2006)
Little King's Story (20€ new in MediaMarkt)
I think other games are quite underrated, when you can find them as cheap as I found them. For their full price I don't think I'd have them listed here, but here it goes.
Isn't a "Hit" in the video game world a game that sells over one million copies? Just asking.

There were a few crusty launch titles that I really liked, like Excite Truck and Elebits, and all the Trauma Center games, that people seem to bad mouth or just ignore. Obviously Okami is always mentioned, that one is amazing and cheap. Boom Blox seems to be oft overlooked. Wii Music didn't do much for me and got critically panned but some people swear by it and I can see the appeal; I did really enjoy the drum set simulator and the mini games are great (the music parts just get boring though, since the melodies are pre-determined) Can't think of anymore right now.
Well then he/she has failed to put it in the Wii section because I went through 10 pages of the Wii section and never did see a thread like this one. However on topic, my underrated games (Fine Don't Call it a Hit Who Cares) are:
Okami de Blob Boom Blox Muramasa: The Demon Blade Elebits Excite Truck Those are just the ones I own for now, so maybe I'll post more at a later time.
"Very poor sales" underrated Wii games (most of which are actually Wii "classics" one could say):
Okami De Blob Boom Blox series Klonoa Muramasa Ghost Squad Boy and his Blob Zak and Wiki Excite Trucks Kororinpa Sega Superstar Tennis (?) Little King's Story House of the Dead Overkill No More Heroes (?) Red Steel (?) Eledees Geometry Wars Wario Land Shake Dimension Batallion Wars Shaun White series Guilty Gear XX Blast Works Metal Slug Anthology Dawn of Discovery
Two or three of the above aren't my cup of tea but I acknowledge their excellence.
Underrated games (generally) by reviewers:
Mario and Sonic Series Wii Play Super Monkey Ball Step and Roll Need For Speed Nitro Link's Crossbow Training Sonic and the Secret Rings Call of Duty 3 Big Brain Academy Wii Ski and Snowboard Nerf N-Strike Another Code R EA Playground Red Steel
They said Red Steel because while it sold very well (I think it might have sold around a million copies, which is great for a Wii Game) the reviews were all over the damn place, with some places praising it and others absolutely hating the game. Also I don't really consider Boom Blox that badly underrated (just enough to be able to be in this topic). it at least sold a quarter of a million copies at worst and got average to good reviews. But it did just well enough to deserve an expansion pack (Thats all that it is ) Finally while I respect everyone's opinions I really don't call it underrated, it sold well (Which I contributed to) but overall I think that all the reviews were spot on, I think that it was average.
Wario Land Shake it! Klonoa Zack & Wiki Elebits Excitebots A Boy and his Blob Guilty Gear XX
I Still need to pick up Little King's Story, Boom Blox Bash Party and Murumasa. On another note, for those who havent picked up Zack & Wiki, get on it now! it's such an amazing and fantastic game, with great Puzzles and motion controls. I wish Capcom would do a sequal, but due to poor sales I doubt that will be the case.
As for Wii Play, i'm on the fence weather that's underrated....Then again it 'is' only $10. Targets! and Laser Hockey are the two standouts if you ask me. And if you havent played it already and need an Extra Wii Remote, or if you can snag a copy by its self than go for it. This may sound silly but i had a better time with Wii Play over Wii Sports....then again, I LOVED Wii Sports Tennis, but i didn't care for Bowling, or Golf, even though Nintendo did a great job with both of them. those 2 sports alone aren't my cup of tea. Then there's Boxing which is terrible, and the ho-hum baseball.
Spyborgs is underrated in both reviews and sales. It's actually a very good game in the spirit of the classic side-scrolling beat-'em-up games.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
