Mario Party 8. Nuff said.

Compared to the first 2 mario parties, MP8 was horrible. They took out everything that was charming about the old games!
In my slightly humble opinion, of course.

I'm going to go with Wii exclusives:

Little King's Story
(I could repeat it ten times over, this game is just plain amazing)

&

de Blob
(So refreshing and funky that it might have started a franchise)

I was going to say Zack and Wiki, but once I played it I was utterly disappointed. I had been led to believe it was a Saved By the Bell game in which Zack Morris was editing Wikipedia to make it fit his term paper along with mini games such as "Cheering with Kelly", "Dress up Lisa" and "I'm So Excited with Jessie". I go to play it and there is some kid pirate and a magic monkey.

Total Ripoff.

Sounds like you get to watch Elizabeth Berkley's nude scene in that movie she was in.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

First, I want to say it's great to see Dawn of Discovery -- or Anno: Create a New World, as it's called in Europe -- get some recognition. That game is really good, but got totally ignored because it released at the same time as the less impressive but better hyped The Conduit. Check the NintendoLife review if you don't believe me:

Second, I totally agree with this statement:

The fact no one has said Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon makes me very sad. My most played Wii game.

Chocobo's Dungeon was written off quickly by reviewers and gamers but is a solid dungeon crawler. I'm getting into it now and having a really good time. Of course, if looking for a similar style of game you could also choose the new Shiren release. Either way you'll end up a happy gamer!

Spyborgs is underrated in both reviews and sales. It's actually a very good game in the spirit of the classic side-scrolling beat-'em-up games.

I keep wondering about this game. The incredibly low price makes it a low-risk choice... but the many negative reviews scared me off. Maybe it will end up being an impulse buy at some point.

Punch-Out definitly. I picked it up for €10 in the bargain section of Xtra-vision, and its the Wii game I have played more than any other.

This is the 10,000th underrated Wii games thread.

While not really underrated more undiscovered Dawn of Discovery: Anno 1404 Create a new world whatever you call it. I completed it recently and while it's basically a really simplified RTS it's quite fun and the controls work really well. There is a lot of hand holding in the game and the challenges don't ramp up that much (until the last level) but I got a lot of hours of play out of it (around 18 without trying to beat my scores in previous levels). I'm pretty anal when it comes to gaming though so I really overplayed all the levels and really exceeded the goals in a lot of the levels. I could have completed it faster if I wasn't overbuilding all my Islands.

Mystery Dungeon games will always be niche, unfortunately - the difficulty and repetition turns a lot of people off, but Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon is magical. Chocobo is a great character, the graphics are pretty, and the music is an awesome mix of Final Fantasy classics across the years (a piece of FF music from almost every game is in this one). The game also offers up nice variety in a few minigames and a really, really good (albiet basic) card battler side-game.

I have the game, the soundtrack and the piano score for this game. It's easily my favourite of this generation (mind you, I've yet to play FFXIII). I just wish more people had of given this a go.

It got plenty of positive reviews, too. The problem is too many reviewers don't understand the beat-'em-up genre anymore. If you like games like Streets of Rage and Final Fight, you should like Spyborgs.

The best part is having nearly unlimited replay value. Sure, you "beat" the Story Mode... but that's just a glorified tutorial. The Continuous Mode can always be replayed and enjoyed by setting your goals and then trying to reach them, sort of like playing games from the Civilization series.

Hmm... I kind of fell out of love with beat'em ups when they were a dime a dozen during the SNES years. But for $10 or $15 you could do a lot worse. Your recommendation pushed me over the edge - next time I see a cheap copy I'll give it a shot.

Well I would love to try Disaster: Day of Crisis, but it still has never made it to the states! I was wondering how the game is received in Japan and Europe.

That would work, too. But unfortunately Nintendo would only use scenes from the show where she got addicted to caffeine pills. ("I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so..scarred!!!!")

Underrated wii games threads are underrated.

A Boy and His Blob needs more attention.
Also, the reviews for Blaster Master: Overdrive are bs.

I love these threads. I'm right now hooked on Silent Hill: shattered memories (or whatever the Wii one is called), which I got second hand and it's fantastic and scary! These lists are awesome and give me hope that I can, in fact afford to get some of this stuff that I've been missing. Boom Blox is a big one since it was expected to be a big hit but didn't exactly sell like hotcakes. I loved it, though.

I liked mario party 8, but then I never played the earlier ones so I can't say if I might like those more.
