Still, though, I'd always end up with around 10 stars after playing through every map (bonus stars included)...

I had Mario party 8 but it was very slow and had a small screen so I just sold it. I hope this one will be much smoother and will have widescreen

From the trailer this game is looking pretty decent, the graphics are impressive and most of the mini games seem fun. I don't know what it was about 8 but it seemed very slow and boring which is a shame considering the Wii is such a great party system.
I played (and completed) Mario Party 4 but it wasn't too fun. This looks really different though. If it's online I'd definitely consider purchasing it simply because I think playing with real people is a lot more fun.

Don't really know why there needs to be a ninth Mario Party. Idk, but, it's kinda like Pokemon. You like it and you want to have more of it, but the more you get the more you just want it to end. (649 Pokemon now? in 2015 there'll be 956!?)
I would be very surprised if it was. I don't see Mario Party working too well as an online game... Unless they have a mode that's purely mini-games that's online but I'd imagine that'd get pretty boring.
hopfully its awsome as mario party 3 and better then mario party 8 which felt odd for me also i hope motion controls beside mini games is not the main focus but anyways
