do you think the game might get a price drop?

Absolutely not. Pokemon will sell tons no matter how high the price is and Nintendo knows it.

@BB: Have you actually played it? It's actually a pretty good game, one of my favorites on WiiWare. Can you maybe explain just what is so awful about it?

@Shadow Chad6982: Never, Japan has had Melee! Pokemon Scarmble! since June and still is 1500pts. I doubt the price changing after being released 3 days.

none of wiiware's games in any region have lowered in price yet.

so i'd put chances at slim to none,

I got the demo and it's actually really fun I think. And that was just the demo. Can't wait to try the whole game. But 1500 is a bit much, even if it is Pokemon. I don't know if I can warrant that much.

I loved the demo, and yet I despise pokemon and their games! I started the demo thinking, "lets see how stupid THIS one is", but after 5 minutes, I was sucked in and I replayed the demo 5 more times. I totally think it's worth it. It's a fun game, even if you don't like pokemon [my friend doesn't like Pokemon either, and he loved it]. When you think about it, it only seems exspensive because a: you're comparing it to how much other games cost, and b: you're comparing it to how much points are on a card. In reality, 15 dollars for a full POKEMON game is great. Pokemon games are always exspensive-Emerald is like 4 years old, but it's 40 dollars.

Just let it happen.

@koolkitties you don't just "mash", press the 2 button, you can use a second attack which is 1 button if the pokemon has another.

Yeah, but generally you don't need it. What's wrong with saying Mash? It means the same thing, but it sounds cool.

i do like that you have to constantly change out pokemon. since they don't level up or anything (they'll never get any stronger) you'll have to find a stronger pokemon fast, or you'll find that your out-powered. also this game is pretty meaty and long. i'm talking like 10-15 hours long.

of course i just found one pokemon i can stick with for a while since it's a beast ( a high power machamp with cross chop. thats an amazing move with a wide hit range, like 5 hits, and each hit is pretty high).

i'm almost finished the game i think (advanced a rank right now) and i just decided to go back to the first level for some fun. i was shocked when i did like 6000 damage to a poor little caterpie in 1 hit lol.

I downloaded after playing the demo. DEFINATELY NOT worth 1,500 but I figured it was "only" 500pts more than what it was really worth, so I went for it. Good game. Repititive, but good.

It was certainly worth it compared to Shootanato (awful)

I need to try the demo out on this one, after hearing its not that bad. I also think its cool that you can get some special toy pokemon, like on Nintendo Week a developer gave a code to unlock Blastoise, and when you register the game at Club Nintendo you get a Charizard.

How is that possible? Pokémon Ranch isn't even a real game. It's a glorified Pokémon storage system.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

More like a glorified screensaver. I have no idea how you could like that more than rumble.

My thoughts exactly.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

Even if for some strange reason you like taking pictures more than beating up opponents when playing video games (my advice: sell your Wii and buy a good digital camera), you can take pictures in Pokémon Rumble, too.

I'm definitely on the "worth it" side of the fence. Maybe it's because on weeknights I have very little time to play games, so something like Rumble is perfect for me. I can go through two or three areas, frequently switching out Pokemon, and battle a boss at the end of each level. Then I can turn my Wii off and go do something else, or keep playing if I have more time on my hands.

I am not a Pokemon fan by any stretch (rented either Diamond or Pearl, can't remember which, from GameFly, and gave up on it after a couple weeks out of boredom), but I had so much fun with the demo I just had to have this game. I have not regretted this purchase at all. I like my brawlers on the simple side, which I guess is the opposite of what many reviewers want (reviewers loved Viewtiful Joe for the style and special moves and stuff--I hated it because I just wanted to beat enemies up without worrying about all that other stuff), but Rumble does have surprising depth if you keep trying out different Pokemon with their different moves. Not THAT deep, but just deep enough to make for satisfying gameplay.

Sure, it would have been nice if the game were only 1000 points, but to me it's worth every one of it's 1500 points. If you're on the fence, keep playing the demo over and over again. If you still find yourself having fun, chances are you will enjoy the full game, as it is very similar but with the added Battle Royale and more powerful enemies as you go.

I downloaded the demo and found it to be a great time. Sure, there's no real story to speak of, but given the type of game it is, it isn't necessary. It's an entertaining romp through various levels and ranks, with some hectic Battle Royale's to shake things up.

You don't even have to be a Pokéfan to enjoy Pokémon Rumble. While I personally am a fan, it doesn't really provide me any advantage over someone who has never picked up one of the many incarnations of the game. Recruiting Pokémon is as simple as thrashing them, so no frustration trying to catch them. The challenge ramps up to give a satisfying feeling of completion whenever you clear a particularly difficult area or Battle Royale, encouraging you to have different Pokémon of different types with different attacks to better serve your purpose. Play it safe with some ranged attacks? Or get right in the action with some wide area melee attacks? It provides some strategy to what some deem as a "button masher."

This game is worth 1500 points easy. While a fulfilling story is not presented, Pokémon Rumble purely stands on its merits of its gameplay. Colorful and crisp graphics, clean interface, and the ability to effortlessly switch between Pokémon to suit your needs results in a fun and addictive game that will keep your attention long after purchase.
