Kadaj commented on Review: Super Mario Kart (Virtual Console / Su...:

While I've enjoyed every Mario Kart ever released, and having a 3 star 9999 profile on MK Wii (at one point, anyway) as well as a great rating for the DS wifi, so I've played some Kart in my time. None of them even compare to the greatness of the original.

It's a shame gamers these days know so little about actual skill. The hundreds of hours playing this against friends and my dad was the best Mario Kart competitive play I've yet to experience.

Kadaj commented on Review: New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii):

Naw, you just make it so easy to point out your flawed logic.

Anyways, so close to collecting every star coin! 2 more to go _ I love how Nintendo made it fun and addictive to collect them all. Furthers my resolve of this title maintaining a perfect score.

Kadaj commented on Review: Star Ocean (SNES):

O.o You're missing out, like, bad. Star Ocean: The Second Story and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time are amazing games, with a very in depth character advancement system, as well as involving stories.

Anyways, I just DL'ed the Star Ocean Rom, and it's pretty awesome so far. Combat system threw me off at first, I expected to be able to move around, free run. Got the hang of it now though, and sword spamming will NOT carry you through the game, that is, unless you like 0 strategy and unnecessary challenge.

Great game, as is every game in the series.

Kadaj commented on Review: New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii):

To be fair, you stated nothing about the actual game, except that it was a bargain bin DS title. You simply criticized the opinions of the reviewer. You do realize it's his personal opinion, and not something to govern your own by? Methinks you're taking it a little too seriously.

You then go on to state that "even Nintendo Power" gave it a 9." Okay, and your point? You wanted to be realistic, so let's be realistic. Both parties enjoyed the game, yet a minor flaw caused the reviewer at Nintendo Power to deduct a point from the score. Such was not the case for Corbie, who found an immersive experience that provided a great deal of fun, and rated it as he saw fit. As also stated, only 4 Wii games have achieved the highest score of 10 on NL. Hardly handing out 10's, that was just a lack of common sense, as well as checking the facts.

Furthermore, if you are in fact "old school that way" about review scores, you should remember well that review scores are based off personal opinion, as well as representation to a genre/franchise/console. BY giving it a 10, Corbie has simply stated he thoroughly enjoyed this game, and recommends it fervently to fans of Mario, fans of 2D platforming and platforming in general, and that it's a great buy for Wii owners.

Disagreeing with that is fine. The part where I get a problem with is that you try to "prove" this by comparing the score (which shouldn't be taken so seriously) to universal "fact." Such as comparing to NL's previous Wii scores (in which you clearly didn't bother to research and therefore were wrong) and comparing it to another score from a different person.

You then go on to tell Raylax that, and I quote: "If you can't take an opinion that doesn't match yours, then why don't YOU "shove off." When you yourself are guilty of that very thing in your first post regarding this game.

So, in conclusion, you didn't use common sense. You didn't research or even make an attempt to look up past scores of the Wii games in general OR that of the reviewer, then you go on to contradict yourself. A clear representation of the misinformed.

Moving on to the much more important and relevant topic at hand, this game deserves every point of the 10/10 score. Nostalgia, great level design, challenge, innovation, and just plain fun delivers in this title, one of the Wii's, and Nintendo's, best.

Great review Corbie.

Kadaj commented on Review: Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare):

Ease up, eh? You're treating this as a mainstream title that's supposed to have the in-depth strategy, masterful controls, selections, and funding of a game that costs millions to make.

I played the demo the other day, and I'll be damned if it wasn't one of the best Wiiware title out there. Fun action, fast paced strategy, and a neat and clean interface makes this an easy $15. Any fan of pokemon or plug-and-play games will get a kick out of this. Plus, it has a lot of replayability.

Totally recommended for all.

Kadaj commented on Flipnote Petition Says "We Want Smash Bros. DS!": much as I love Smash Bros., it just wouldn't work for DS. Mario Kart and Mario 64 don't prove anything. It's not what the DS can handle, but what the DS is for.

I suppose a graphically dumbed down version, with more of a 2D presentation rather than pseudo-3D would work fine and be entertaining, but I just don't see it being as worthy to the series as Melee and Brawl were.

Kadaj commented on Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver Get Western Relea...:

Totodile FTW! Big, powerful alligator with a decent moveset, though doesn't compare to Swampert/Empoleon.

I truly love all of the starters in the Pokemon games, but Cyndaquil, then eventually Typhlosion were the worst D:

Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard = awesome flying/fire.
Torchic/Conbusken/Blaziken = awesome fighting/fire.
Chimchar/Monferno/Infernape = also awesome fighting/fire. Bleh.

Anyhoo, I'm on the fence about Gold/Silver remake...I have Gold and Crystal. Then again, easy access to some Legendaries is nifty Hopefully Celebi is obtainable without event assistance! And hopefully they add a few more of the rarer Legendaries (Jirachi, Deoxys).

Kadaj commented on Nintendo Download: Jedis, Drills and Bubbles (US):

As a Star Wars fanboy, I just gotta say...the use of the word "Jedis" made me /facepalm. There's no 's' when referring to them as plural; it's Jedi.

@TheCrow: Fortunately, Nintendo doesn't base their releases on your opinion. Your own fanboyism towards SSB64 (seriously dood, buy Brawl.) is duly noted, but neither we or Nintendo care.

Kadaj commented on Review: Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii):

"@N64 Gamer*:

Okay. You're complaining that Nintendo brought the distinguished Metroid series to the Gamecube years ago, instead of waiting all those years to release them on the Wii? lolwut?

Anyways...this is gonna be awesome, can't wait!

Kadaj commented on Review: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven S...:

You people discussing Final Fantasy as 'not so great' are odd.

Besides the fact that it's the best selling RPG series of all time, or that they all contain deep, involving stories with excellent character relationships.

@ Shinnok

Effeminate male protagonists? Have you seen what Cloud and Squall look like? Seriously? And you actually said something negative about the music? THAT is where it's obvious you have no real viable arguement. Nobuo Uematsu is legendary in the gaming industry, and is a respected composer across the world. No game can match the musical prowess that the Final Fantasy games have.

Anyways. Super Mario RPG is truly an amazing game, and I'm happy that I got it all those years ago. It's great playing through this epic again!

Kadaj commented on Review: Rock N' Roll Climber (WiiWare):

I'm surprised that this game didn't knock you out, as it looks sleep inducing. Looks to be another disappointing title. When I saw the title, I was hoping for some rock and roll treatment mixed with an acrobatic platformer kind of deal, but alas.

Ah well. Great review Corbie!

Kadaj commented on Review: Super Mario Galaxy (Wii):

My god. Galaxy is just pure win.

Talk about revolutionary. After getting every single star in this, I was motivated to DL every Mario game from the VC and played through all of them.

Galaxy 2 looks to be amazing as can always count on Mario

Also...Sunshine rocked.

Kadaj commented on Review: Link's Crossbow Training (Wii):

I absolutely loved Twilight Princess, and I got this first day it was out. Awesome little game, loads of fun. I wish they would have expanded on a few things, but still a 9 from me.

Kadaj commented on Review: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii):

SSE was awesome. I find it very odd that anyone would think otherwise. This game is at least a 9, but moreso a 10.

Though I hate how they put Snake into the game. Whether it's true Hideo Kojima begged or not, Mega Man deserved that place! The Blue Bomber would have fit perfectly, and would have provided other character entries in future Smash Bros. (Protoman!, Bass, Zero)

Sonic was awesome, though. He's not my main, but I love his speed. I'm pretty lethal with teh Hedgehog

Kadaj commented on Review: Mario Kart Wii (Wii):

I don't know how you got bland graphics from this...everywhere you look there is something to look at, Goombas wondering around. Very odd.

And about that having to use a controller as opposed to a Wiiwheel when racing online're joking, right? I'm high ranked, and I haven't used a controller with this game once. When my buddies come over we have a big game night, and they've never been able to beat me with a controller, only when they use the Wiiwheel do they have a chance.

Using one of the optional wired gamepads does NOT provide a few extra second of accurate driving, that's false. It's the skill of the player using the Wiiwheel that comes into consideration.

Other than that, decent review.

Kadaj commented on Review: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii):

Amazing game. Excellent story, gorgeous music, and just all around fun.

I beat it on easy, then on I'm on hard and it is HARD. I refuse to let anyone die, and my god is it tough. A real challenge. The GBA games were good, but my god they were easy.

Kadaj commented on Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess...:

People need to chill O.o Everyone has their own opinions, you can't fault eachother or the reviewer because they have a different one than you.

For me, this game was a 10. I thoroughly enjoyed the darker setting, the graphic style, and how the whole adventure started in the first place. It had a great story, much more fleshed out than the usual Zelda game.

I also loved WW, MM, and OoT. All 10's as far as I'm concerned. To me, a 10 is a game that challenges you and draws you in. And if I love a game so much that I want to play it again, that is a 10. I've beaten TP 4 times, and the other Zelda's (except Link's Awakening) several times, some even more than four.

TP was good times.

Kadaj commented on Robocalypse: Beaver Defense:

Hmm...maybe. Wiiware certainly isn't lacking in strategy titles, and there are a few more I want to get before this. Could be good, though.

Kadaj commented on Harvest Moon: My Little Shop:

I love Harvest Moon, but I'm going to have to pass on this. I want a good farming challenge, not running a shop.

Kadaj commented on Dragon Master Spell Caster:

This looks pretty decent (except the title ) nice to have a Panzer-esque title. Just hope it lives up to the hype.

Kadaj commented on Review: Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1 (Wii...:

UGH. Can we please refrain from reviewing any other version except the Wiiware version of games in the future, please? I get you wanted to get it out there fast for us, but dear god.

My friend downloaded this, having been a big fan of the games in the past. She invited me over to check it out, and we were both majorly disappointed. The framerate just ruins the whole experience. We had to restart twice because of freezing, which has never happened on her Wii before, and the gameplay was way too simplified.

I know this is a Wiiware game, and to not expect million dollar games that have had a 2 year development time, but come on. What a waste of $10.

Kadaj commented on Review: Water Warfare (WiiWare):

Not gonna lie, this looks pretty cool. Still a few games I wanted to get before this, but this and Overturn are definitely on my list. I like having a few "Plug 'n Play" games to balance my enormous RPG library, a game where you can just sit down and have some good 'ol fun without getting too deep into a story.

Kadaj commented on Review: OVERTURN (WiiWare):

@ Koolkitties - I gave up on IGN a long time ago. Everything they say of do reeks of bias, and it's a shame. It used to be a quality site.

Overturn looks pretty awesome. There are still a few other games I want to get before this, but this is definitely on my to do list. I've always loved micro managing and deep customization, and hopefully this wont disappoint.

Kadaj commented on Review: Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure! (...:

Dude, you played the original Megaman games, right? They were considered as some of the hardest games ever made, and I'm thrilled that MM9 carries on that tradition of old school challenge.

As for Rainbow Islands, I loved the original. I'm a little hesitant about this remake, but I'll probably DL at some point xD

Kadaj commented on Review: Crystal Defenders R2 (WiiWare):

I was going to buy Water Warfare next. I just bought MLAAK, Dark Lord and Dr. Mario Online RX, and thought WW would make for a good action experience, but after seeing this...I gotta go where Squeenix goes I'ma download R1 tonight, and once I'm done grab R2. many games, so little points.

Kadaj commented on Review: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My L...:

This game is just beyond awesome. As a huge Squeenix fan, I was quite happy with Dark Lord; it just plain delivers. Also a big fan of TD games as well, so it just all blended together nicely. I can't wait for a sequel, either in the form of DLC or a stand alone game.

Like MLAAK, I'm a DLC junkie Hopefully get to see more levels available soon!

Kadaj commented on Review: Sexy Poker (WiiWare):

Oh dear lord. What a stupid idea for a game. Trying to cater to the 13 year old horny boys as a sales audience is just...well, disturbing. I love Texas Hold 'Em, but not on a game. I'll take RL version, kthx. But to actually try and sell a game with semi naked anime girls as their actual selling point just makes it a sad day for gaming.

Kadaj commented on Nintendo Rep: Virtual Console Being Toned Down:

Wiiware is awesome, but so is the VC. I really hope that VC wont eternally fall behind in place of Wiiware. I've had to purchase a few SD cards to hold my Marios (I remember squealing when I saw Super Mario RPG on there...I'm a 23 dood ), my Donkey Kong's, some Metroid goodness. I want my old favorites back...Illusion of Gaia and Soulblazer anyone? Unfortunately a good chunk of the current VC games available are so obscure, nobody bothers with them.

I still remember the excitement I felt when VC was announced. It's an awesome idea, and I hope Nintendo doesn't let it die.
