The reason I didn't like Wii Music as much was the fact that I'm a bit of a Guitar Hero purist. And after I sold it I learned that you ciuld actually play it right but you had to dig for it, DOH!
I could probably name quite a few, because I don't have much confidence in the vast majority of game reviewers, but Wii Music is probably the most significant for me. One of the greatest games of this entire console generation (yes, I mean that), but reviewed terribly by most of the inept gaming press (not all reviewers scored it negatively; Nintendo Life gave it a respectable score and favorable review, as did others).
Yes, it got bad reviews because the gaming press is inept. That must be it.

Agreed. I think it's one of the greatest games Nintendo has ever created, and it's easily the greatest music game of all time. It's the only music game out there that really challenges you in musical and creative ways, unlike guitar hero which just challenges you to hit the right notes at the right time. I'm a big Guitar Hero/Rock Band fan, but I'd take Wii Music over it any day.
I'm also a fan of Luigi's Manion, which is severely under-rated game in my opinion.

@17 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon : Explorers of Time/Darkness had bad reviews? I thought it was pretty darn good. I also think SPORE Creatures was brill to.

Yup, I'll give it that. I've already put more hours into it than most Wii games I have, and more than just about any Gamecube game I had, too.
Definitely worth it, even though the cashier made fun of me when he rang up my purchase. ("Gonna pretend to play music, huh?" he asked. Yeah, buddy. Why do I doubt you say that to people buying Rock Band?)
Majora's Mask also qualifies, in my eyes, as I not-infrequently come across people who refer to it as the worst Zelda game ever. (Sometimes, but not always, they add, "...apart from the CD-i titles.")
I'm sure there are others, but I'm with Wario. Wii Music is my best answer.

Yes, quite a lot. They share a metacritic score of only 59 out of 100 right now. If I had not playtested Rescue Team Blue on a friends DS, I might have ignored the game because of the bad reviews. I am glad I did test it, because I freaking love the gameplay, charme and the great and long storyline.
II also think SPORE Creatures was brill to.
Spore Creatures got only an avarage rating of 65. The demo, which was for a short time available to download on the Nintendo Channel, just charmed me and I got it aswell. It is a cute, funny game that suffered from the whole hype around the PC version and dissapointed uninformed customers who thought the DS version was some kind of port. In the end it got ignored or underrated.
Like another EA title I am going to add to my list now : Skate It DS.
I also forgot about Luigi's Mansion, which I forget about because nobody I know hates it. All my friends and I love it. In fact, just this past week we had one of our traditional video game parties, which we stayed up all night beating Luigi's Mansion (again) with several carbonated drinks and pretzels.
I really enjoyed Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, mostly owing to the fact that I love Tales.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Lux-Pain. If you look past the fact that the translation is a bit wonky and accept that it's more of an interactive novel than an action-packed game, there's a really absorbing adventure to be had, one which isn't afraid to tackle touchy subjects (suicide, murder, mental instability) head on. I love it.

One game I don't understand why it has bad reviews are the Wii and DS versions of Ghostbusters! Eveyrone hates these versions when in fact I perfer to play it on Wii as opssosed to other console.
I sort of liked playing Sonic and the Black Knight. With a practised jump / waggle combination you could fly through some stages and overall speed and visuals could be quite impressive. The game play is never going to work right in 3D, but I dint understand why it was so very badly received. I found Unleashed and Secret Rings way less fun to play...

Good to know. I was planning to get Sonic & The Black Knight once it's cheap. At least now I'll know that it will be worth the wait.
