Recently bough the game. Totaly awesome setting, but too much grinding and trial & error during the dialogs for me.

I have a very weak right-eye and cant stand 3D games or 3D cinema. No surprise for me. My strategy is to hope for a significant price drop for the DSi XL

I think R-Type on the Game Boy is one of the best 8-bit ports of Irems classic.

The C64 version is rushed and buggy, the Master System one suffers from heavy sprite flickering, the ZX Spectrum is ... limited, but okay for its system, the Amstrad one is just a bad port of the Spectrum version....

So, leaving two levels and some tracks out is a fair trade for a very playable (and beatable ) version of R-Type.

I tought it sucked. Samus got destroyed by old man lust and horrible writing. The lame and dumped down gameplay didnt help either.

@timp29: Yes, sure. However, I think the reviews here are often a bit too positive here. Could list some examples now, but that wouls just kick some unneeded discussions... For Other M: the negative reviews impressed me more then the positive. I felt forced to cancel my pre-oder and I am going to rent it. I am a huge Metroid fan and because of that I have very high personal standarts for the series.

I smell overrating...

You might check out some more true to Metroid ,and more negativ, reviews like on gameinformer, g4tv or gamesradar.

I really dislike the artwork here. Fox, Falco, Krystal and so on... they all look inferior compared to SF: Assault and even more compared to SF: Adventure or recently SSB: Brawl.

Some one metioned the weird endings and I went watching them on youtube. Yes, damn yes, this might have been an interesting approach, but these mostly turned out to be very strange.

After massive games like Star Fox 64 and Assault, this title feels like done by the "B-Team" and on a smaller scale, budget and goal.

The best thing a Star Fox fan can do for this generation is to get SF64 for the VC and wait for its remake for the 3DS...

I owned this one back then and got... kind of dissapointed. No match against Kirby´s Adventure imho.

I think, this is the best Mario Kart version. If you ask me, it ´s beyond aging and still very fun to play on the VC.

Just bad. It arent the technical standarts alone, everything looks dull, empty and lifeless.

Short: lots of content, technical mediocre, presentation is pending from great to lacking , butt the drive and racing engine turned out to be VERY well done and is a lot of fun. I am not for hardcore realism, I am for fun and them game found a good balance between. I drove with the remote btw.

I would give it a 7/10 game and recomend it to anybody who likes racing games on the Wii like Ferrari Challenge.

Well, the reasons why recent Sonic games more or less sucked weren´t his sidekicks. Tails was a good addition in Sonic 2 and Blaze did a great performance in Sonic Rush for example.

I know, some Sonic moments seemed like a furry soap opera, but games like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic and the Black Knight and 06 wernt games at all and got badly design, avoiding year long critism and the fanbase.

I had to import it from the UK to be able to play it. One of the most charming, challenging and unique games I played since the... well 90s. But, GTA: Chinatown Wars is a better title for DS GOTY

I realy liked Metroid Prime : Hunters. Spend the time mostly with all kinds of bot matches.

Cant play MW2, but it think it goes some strange ways:

Shooting while riding a snow mobile ? Thats so James Bond...
The USA getting invaded from Russia ? Red Dawn and 80s cinema anyone ?

"Surprisingly good" fits the most. I never played CoD4 yet - besides the PC demo once - and I am very surprised how good it looks, controlls and plays on the Wii.

The MP is the best and deepest online multiplayer you can get for the Wii right now.

I wish I would have got this one instead of Warios Woods for my VC...

I had a bad start with the game,around 2002, and I would have given it a similar score.

But, after giving it a fair try again in 2009 and forgeting about all the gaming comforts I used to like after 1986 I truly began to love this game.

I finished it several times, without maps or anything, collected 100% of the items once and even did a decent casual speed run (both bosses) on it.

For modern players this game is very flawed. From a NES perspective it should get a 9/10.

I have to replace my DS L with this one !

Sometime I hope my silver DS L "dies" so I "have to" buy a new DSi - in this case the dark blue one ^^

Wi-Fi duels and campaign co-op, wii-speak pilot chat (one reason to buy the damn thing) and motion+ controlls (+nunchuck?) like in WSR... and unlockable Krystal pin-up posters please ^^

Sports games dont have it easy on the Wii, because you will miss the almost realistic HD quality these games can show on the PS3 / 360 and their much better online modes.

The only way a sports game can be better on the Wii is the way how they are using the remote and WM+. Grand Slam Tennis might look cartoony, but it plays, controlls and sounds great and comes with one of the best online modes on the Wii (not that does mean much).

Tiger Woods 10 Wii got high reviews all around and combined "normal", serious graphics with the possibly best sport controlls ever.

And Madden ? I dont know the typicly Madden player, but I ask myself if they can get well with these even more cartoony graphics then in GST and eased down gameplay mechanics.

The next "lets get different on Wii" test by EA is going to be ,the very important in europe, FIFA 10. Lets see how that one will sell.....

The Spore Hereos game looks fun (in the videos), but the developer also failed at beeing excited or doing a well presentation in the IGN-Videopreviews about the game.

@ Pixelman : I know what you mean about MP3. Bryyo is visually horribly boring, aswell as most of the land in MP2...

But keep playing: every planet beyond the frist looks great and also changes the "primary" colour.

MP1 does a nice job by giving every setor its own colour and look. You will see green rainforrest like regions, a blue and icy one, yellow-brownish ruins, red lava caves, industrial areas, an underwater section and much more.

I finished the first Donkey Kong Land to 100% - something I would not want to do again

The save system is a pain-in-the-*$$ password system. Thx god we can save via Wii.

I got used to StarTropics grid based controlls. Atleast you only ned correct timing to place your jumps

To see Mike in diagonal movement is almost alienating me lol.

That game gave me headaches when played on a TV and I had to sell it. It was fun, no question, but exhausting after some minutes.

Somehow, I want to try it out on the DS again....

Compared to other reviews (and the GST score) VT09 seems overrated here.

Strange that so many reviews read like "GST > VT09" or vice versa like in this example.

I decided for GST after comparing game play videos because of the spot on crowd reactions and smoother animations.

This game has potential. I just hope there is a zoom funcion to get a better view on that cute meerkats.

Sure, we might be very skilled in "wanking it up" - and lots of Wii Fit games can be fooled easily too - but where is the reason to cheat on yourselfs training stats ?
