Yes the Telltale Back To The Future series has been confirmed under the radar as it has been ESRB rated and given a release date of 10/25/11 today!
Though not confirmed I hear it'll retail for $29.99

Is anyone going to purchase this when it gets released and what are your thoughts about this being released on the wii?

well, i played 4 and a half episodes out of 5 before my cpu died. So that means im pretty sure i will pick it up when it comes out. I liked it while I was able to play it and I definitely want to know how it ends.

GameStop says the 25th too, but for only $19.99. I will definitely pick this up at some point, if only to support Telltale Games on Nintendo systems.

If only Telltale would make better Wii ports.
I'm a big fan of the old point&click adventures for Amiga and PC,
so I got Sam & Max Season 1 & 2 and Tales of Monkey Island Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the Wii.

They aren't polished, and the engine doesn't really work on Wii.
Framerate hic-ups, freezing, and sound errors aside, they're still awesome and funny games.

I'd wish the developers would work on the flaws but they're always butchering the Wii versions.
There weren't any noticable improvements going from ToMI 1 to 5 and from S&M1 to S&M2.
None of the issues have been ironed out and that's so unfortunate!

Telltale is giving me the feeling that they don't care about Wii gamers.
Poor ports with big brands for moneymaking, that's all.

Well, I'd rather have a poor port of a good game than nothing.
But still, I'm somewhat disappointed.

I am assuming this title will include all episodes. It should be nice for this game will be smoothed out by the time wii releases it. When I played it for pc, there were all kinds of problems. First off, I had a hell of a time saving my game, so I had to re-download. Pretty heavy. Also some major glitching throughout, not to mention shadow detail wasn't tops.
I'm still excited though.

edit: After seeing the above post by @SKTTR I guess there's not much hope fixing and tuning

Oh great. I already spoiled most of this for myself on Youtube.
I never thought I'd be playing it since I only have a Wii.
It Figures. I'll probably get the Wii version now.

They're just not very good at optimizing for WiiWare's size limit. They should have no problems with a disc release.

Anyway, I still have to try out the free first episode of the PC version Telltale gave me, and then I'll decide if it's worth getting the whole thing.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

@SKTTR Sam and Max season 2 was released on wii in Europe? I thought only season 1 was, which I still need to get.

  • Sam & Max - Season 1 (published by The Adventure Company)
  • Sam & Max - Season 2: Beyond Time and Space (published by Atari)

Both are available in Europe on the Wii.

Wrong.

The two Sam & Max games are disc releases - and they suffer from the exact same issues that Tales of Monkey Island suffer from, it's just even worse on the Sam & Max games. The WiiWare size limit only affected the audio and texture quality. Monkey Island could have been a great port if Telltale had a better engine for Wii games and some investmest in polishing and playtesting their Wii titles. Despite the Sam & Max games being on disc, they have much longer loading times, more bugs, more framerate issues, more sound errors and more freezing than Monkey Island. It's just an even lazier port than the Monkey Island WiiWare games.

Fact is, both, Tales of Monkey Island and the Sam & Max seasons, could have received extremely good and polished Wii and WiiWare versions.
Telltale just needs to work on updating their Wii engine and they shouldn't be so careless about their Wii audience.

@SKTTR Thanks, It must've had an even quieter European release than season 1 then. Also, I didn't type that second quote, that was Bulbasaurus rex.

Sam & Max Season 2: Beyond Time and Space (Wii) was released in EU on 30th April 2010.
I got it for 11.99€ on Amazon two months ago.

Corrected the quote.

Can anyone confirm if all episodes will be included in one disc?

TellTale should release a compilation of all their games and series as a disc release on Wii. All Sam & Max series, the Strong Bad games, ToMI, BTTF and even throw in Puzzle Agent and Bone for good measure. That would ROCK!
(assuming the ports are decent...)
