so..........
we know about hyrule warriors ( personally not massively exited) but what about zelda u.
i have completed every zelda game to date (except cdi nonsence and the very end of skyward sword because my wiimote wont work)
and i would say it is my most loved gaming franchise, i mean lets face it. its incredible.
but whats the deal with zelda u, i remember the spider fighting trailer that got us all so pumped up. but that seems like it was a million years ago now, and there has been nothing else shown. what do people make of this ?
will there be a surprise announcement and a quick release ?
big delays ?
a new console announcement with new zelda on launch ?
normally all these things would sound ridiculous to me but i cant help thinking something big must be going on!
people talk about how nintendo barely markets new and upcoming games, but the truth is that if you actually look for it they do alot.
but for zelda u all i can find is unnofficial speculation. which for such an anticipated game which has been in development forevor seems odd to me!
what do people think ?

I don't think anything is going on.

It's confirmed to be in development for WiiU, it's going to be at E3 this year & they've said they're changing things up a bit. Seems normal.

E3. Now calm your mind like we all must.

Those are the rational responses
And I know deep down you are probably right
I suppose im just a mix of exited and impatient!
What do you want to / think we will see in it ?

The fact that we haven't seen anything in so long is a perfect example of how Nintendo simply doesn't have any idea how to build anticipation and interest in the current generation/market. If they don't want to show off anything until E3, that's fine. But they should still be throwing out the occasional teaser to keep their fanbase engaged.

2015. 2016 if we're unlucky, or if it gets delays like every Zelda game does.

I won't speculate since we'll know in just a couple of months. But hopefully they'll stay true to all the hints they've given about the game. Using the GamePad a lot, maybe some form of CoOp or multiplayer added & generally just changing up the formula a bit.

There are no limitations on what kind of place Hyrule can be, other than that it is a country where Zelda exists as its Princess. We now have many titles in the series, so we are seeing characters and location names from previous titles coming up again. We are using these when it adds to the fun, but there is no rule that we have to use these at all. We may even need to change things you might take for granted like Zelda being a Princess. I would really like the next Hyrule to be a setting no one has ever imagined before.

Of course it’s moving along. We also have to reflect on what we did with Wind Waker for our next title. Since Wind Waker HD was a remake, there were limits to what we could do with the Wii U GamePad, but for a new title, we can utilize it to the fullest.

The spider sequence was a tech demo to showcase what Wii U was capable of, not an actual rendition of what the game is going to look like.

@dreamz
i dont want to say a bad word about the big N but they should have at least given a few little teases.
that being said i think it can go both ways. i already know so much about mario kart 8 & ssb. two games i will be buying. and i do like things to be a surprise when you start playing. im aware that they dont have too much else to shout about atm, and that they are gonna be great games with features worth showing off. ( also im just thinking alloud here, with no REAL prejudice )

@19robb92
i am super exited again now.
i am looking forward to a big open world exploratory style, with many optional and intricate side quests such as in majoras mask.
i also am quite a fan of non linear like in albbw as it adds a feel of more freedom and also adds to the replayability factor.
dont know what to think of co-op or multiplayer though. i have been playing zelda for so long and it is one one of a handfull of games i can sit alone and play and feel so immersed and part of a world. i had thought of an add on in the form of a heroes camp where people can go and battle through dungeons and tournaments etc together. but this would be a bit weird if everyone was link. maybe if he was customisable to a point ?

1) We've had multiple Links before (Four Swords and its sequel) so it shouldn't be too hard to picture a multiplayer Zelda game.
2) As previously stated, the spider tech demo you mentioned was just that, a tech demo. Nintendo made it clear that was not from whatever Zelda game is being developed for the system, and they've done similar things in the past, it was just to show the capabilities of the system.
3) Nintendo isn't showing us anything because they aren't far enough in development to do so. Games take years to develop (Zelda especially) and the Wii U is only in its second year, and Skyward Sword came out at the end of the Wii's life. If we aren't hearing anything outside of E3, it's still a ways off.
4) In response to your originally post, you suggested maybe they'll announce it with a new console. No way, sorry but Nintendo won't rush another system out just because the Wii U's struggling, it's not as bad a flop as the Virtual Boy and it's very unlikely that they'll cut this generation so short, it would create more problems for them than solutions.

In short, be patient. Nintendo will show us Zelda when they're ready, it's likely a ways off still.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. Aonuma wanted to shown something Zelda WIiU related of at NY Comic Con 2013 & Iwata has stated that the five year development cycle for Zelda is too long and that they would like to shorten it to three years. I'm sure the WiiU games is pretty far in to development at this point.

That spider fight trailer from E3 2011 was not for the game lol That was just a tech demo to show the power of the console. I'm also fully expecting this one to be completely different from all the other installments in the franchise, like Zelda not beeing a princess and the game beeing set in an alternate universe not too distant from ours.

@MrV4ltor so why have we not seen Wii U games with graphics as good as that tech demo yet then?
I remember when reggae showed the video of that bird flying across a Japanese setting, where are those graphics. Nothing yet looks as good as those tech demos. I hope the next Zelda looks as good as the spider tech demo but I'm not holding my breath.
I'm curious as to why we haven't seen the "supposed true power" of the Wii U console yet.

I think Link will go back to having Zelda 2 level of Magic and magic requirements. More magic basically.

Tech demos often look superior to the the games the system ends up with because they're essentially real-time cutscenes that uses everything the system has up front.

That is exactly the reason
Also its worth noting that in their own right pikmin 3, sm3dw & dktp are all stunning games and run at a proper framerate unlike anything the big boys from xb1 / ps4 churn out

I would say that MK8 seems to be that good, but that's of course in a very different animation style.

Anyone who expects games to look as good as the tech demos fails to understand what a tech demo is. Period. About the next Zelda, I think it's staying on course, we will probably see the first teaser at this year's E3 and hopefully it may be released in late 2015.

The Zelda Tech demo wasn't THAT impressive IMO. I mean, just take a look at the rocks in the background (or almost anything that isn't a character model). They are low on both polygons & details. Mario Kart 8 looks better.
