Topic: Which free game should I get with Mario Kart 8

I preorderd Mario Kart 8 and I want suggestions on which free game to get! I already have the WindWaker HD so I'm trying to decide between NSMBU, Wii Party U, and Pikmin 3 (I live in NA). I'm considering factors like which one is the most expensive, download size, and how fun the game is but I can't decide! Please help!

Pikmin 3 is mainly a single player game. There's a 2 player mode, but if you often play with 3-4 players, Mario or Wii Party U is probably the better choice. Also, Wii Party U is the least expensive, so if you plan on buying Mario anyway, you might want to get the more expensive one.

I think Pikmin 3 and NSMB.U are around the same file size, but you can check that on the eShop.

Well, I'm not sure the exact download size, but right off the bat allow me to rule out Wii Party U. Even if you like party games/mini-game collections, you don't want the digital version. For one, you can buy the physical version for $40 (and that's assuming you don't find it for less), AND it comes with a free Wiimote, AND it comes with a little stand to keep your gamepad level on a table for tabletop gamepad games. Definitely do not choose this game for your freebie.

With that said, and the fact you already own Zelda, it basically comes down to NSMBU or Pikmin 3. Both are utterly fantastic games, but since you have to choose, consider this: NSMBU is around 2GB, but if you download the NSLU DLC it will be more. Pikmin 3 is around twice that- at almost 4GB, but if you download the DLC it will be more. If you have an external HDD, this is a moot point (and I highly recommend you get one), but if you don't have one and aren't planning on getting one, NSMBU would probably be the wiser choice.

However, Pikmin 3 is one of the best games on the Wii U. Now don't get me wrong- NSMBU is easily the best 2D Mario I've ever experienced, but I think it's safe to say that Pikmin 3 is one of those games that will be remembered for many, many years to come. It's an instant classic, and the multiple modes and DLC will ensure you stay playing longer. Idk, it's a tough choice. I mean, I'd say get both of them- just buy the one you don't get for free. If you're going to do that, then you should choose NSMBU to save the space on your hard drive. Not to mention it would discount NSLU to $20 instead of $30, although that would work against saving space when you could just buy it in physical form. And if you're going to buy NSLU in physical form, it WOULD be nice to own NSMBU in physical form to match, so we're at an impasse here, aren't we lol?

I say get NSMBU, but ONLY IF you're going to buy Pikmin 3 in physical form. If choosing NSMBU means you won't be getting Pikmin 3, then scratch that idea and just get Pikmin 3.

Well, I'm getting Wii Party U, because that's the only one I don't have.

If you need file sizes, then just look at the product page on the eShop, for future reference. @JaxonH is right, though. You're better off getting one of the more expensive games.

If you have never played a Pikmin game before, then you have to get Pikmin 3. There is nothing remotely like it (besides other Pikmin games, of course), and it is a great deal of fun.

Get whatever you don't have except Wii Party U. Anything else will suffice.
