I'd like to keep this in mind, both for people angry at Ubisoft and people decrying the entire gaming community at the drop of the hat. This is a thread about developers making a demo in some desperate attempt to make sure their game they worked for away from their families for a year or 2 sells despite Ubisoft's unintentional attempts to sabotage everything Michel Ancel makes. Keep that in mind before you start your irrelevant bickering that will affect no one ever.
Apart from releasing the full game, and having watched the Facebook video I think releasing an online challenge mode in April is a far better compromise than another demo
I find it worrying that companies making a video game would have their employees work absurdly long hours. Speaks well to the entertainment industry we have... ugh.

This is not a new practice in the slightest, all big game companies do it. It's one of the reasons I left the industry. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, EA, Square, etc. They all do it.

Also, I'll repeat yet again for the people that don't seem to understand: Microsoft has a policy for multiplatform games requiring them to be launched simultaneously. Ubisoft can no longer legally release the game unless they cancel the 360 version which will just piss off even more people. How would you like it if a 360 exclusive game you wanted was officially announced to be ported to Wii U and then canceled a couple weeks later? Ubisoft put themselves in a corner but this is a very fair peace offering and honestly, refusing it just is a bit spoiled. They can't really do anything more than this and they could have charged a small price for this even but instead we get some of the game for free. The development team worked hard on this (and now will have to continue working hard on it) and they aren't the ones responsible for the cancel, it upset them too. Can't we just accept this gift and let it go now?

I said it once, it's free, I'm taking. And it has weekly/daily FREE challenges. Online play and online leaderboards. Plus, we'll be able to talk with the devs on Miiverse. That's basically the game itself without the story.
It's just that comes September I'll be enjoying my free game and buying Wind Waker HD.
They could still launch it on the Wii U and make a new mode or whatever for the 360 and PS3 and that wouldn't go against that Microsoft policy (the game can't be the same, but if changes are made it can be launched there, like an extended edition or wtv). They could even later port that mode to the Wii U after the game was on the 360, so, meh... I don't think that's the reason why it has been delayed.
I'm satisfied with the offering. The online challenge mode will be enough to curb my desire to play Rayman, and I'm thrilled to hear that Ancel and the dev team will work to add extra characters and bosses. "Apology" accepted.

As long as they're using this time to add to the game, I'm happy to wait now. I'm getting excited for Rayman again.
I foresee what you'll do there.
