maybe Nintendo should make a game using a different company's IP. I feel like this should be obvious but I don't really remember anyone bringing it up. I'd pay all the money for a Retro Studios Megaman or Monolith Soft bringing back Suikoden or something.

Nintendo EAD Sonic. They can put Sonic on the right track.
Problem is if Nintendo were to do that they'd have to buy the IP outright, does Nintendo benefit from an awesome Mega Man game, if the sequel would be multiplatform. IP Acquisition would be smart under a few stipulations, such as getting Mega Man, Castlevaina, and others that fit Nintendo. I still think one of the biggest mistakes Nintendo did this generation was not grabbing anything out of the THQ Aqustion or buying Atlus.
WAT!

Last I heard, Sonic was busy on mobile...it's probably too late for him. Suikoden...I'd love to see Monolith or Intelligent Systems handle it.
The only issue I'd have with this is that it means Nintendo's studios wouldn't be working on other projects.
IP trades sound like a good idea, though. It seems like it could expand the variety of quality nintendo titles and form stronger ties with third party studios.

Yes. Because they got one new exclusive and then another game as long as the company doesn't decide to give Nintendo a giant middle finger. Which if Nintendo is directly developing I think they would have a much greater interest in that not happening. Besides, the Ps4 has been successful entirely by having games that are on other systems so I fail to see the problem.
I was also thinking of this, too. But as the users above me stated, they might have less teams to work on their own IPs. I think what they can do is, like the case with Devils Third and Bayonetta, help develop and finance 3rd party exclusives. Maybe the next GTA can be a spinoff exclusive to the Wii U... we know that Reggie's interested in having GTA on Nintendo consoles.
God first.

But those games are known quantities as far as being multiplatform. I have the same problem about the Rise of the Tomb Raider on the xbox side as well.
Plus I feel new IP would help more than IP most people don't care about these days, but I'd kill for a great 3D sonic and Mega Man game.

As we learned in 2014, new IP doesn't automatically equal a new idea or a good game. Watch_Dogs and Destiny are proof. That's why it is in everyone's best interest to remain skeptical, yet optimistic about new IP released this year from anyone.

And old series are known to have great ideas that are commonly used later. Case in point: Mario and Zelda

Sonic Boom is what happens if you just outsource. What the next Sonic Team game is like is what matters.
(To be honest I would rather have had a 3D Classic of the last Sonic Boom game from 1987)
The next Sonic Team game is the mobile title I mentioned.
I was referring to the Xbone/PS4/PC one for 2015 from that leaked slide.
What is the name of the mobile one ? I suppose if it is F2P I won't touch it. (Thought Sonic Jump was pretty reasonable).
Yeah the leaked slide (Didn't look fake judging by the reaction of the PR people about Boom immediately afterwards).
Maybe I am wrong. (In a way if the same happened to Sonic because of Boom that happened to Castlevania due to Lords of Shadow that wouldn't have been something I wanted).
Sonic Runners I believe. Are you referring to the leak from before boom came out?
I'd love to see Nintendo try to make a Halo game, because 343 Industries doesn't seem to have a clue.
Seriously though, I can't think of anything really notable that I'd love to see them make. Most of the worthwhile franchises out there are already in the right hands, or Nintendo wouldn't be a good match.
EDIT: On second thought, I'd like to see Nintendo make a Castlevania game in the vein of the GBA and DS games, if only because Konami doesn't seem to want to do that even though they sell well and don't cost much to make.
You want Nintendo to make a game for a different IP from their own and make it multiplatform? No way! No freaking way! Keep it exclusive. I would love for Nintendo to work on different IPs but if the game was multiplatform?! No way!!!
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!
