I don't know why some people are so against remakes/remasters or whatever you want to call them. I mean, they don't remaster bad games, so isn't it nice to be able to play a spruced up version of an already excellent game? I thought it was a real treat to be able to play Wind Waker HD, and I'm certainly looking forward to Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition once I get a PS4.

As for Nintendo itself I would love a remaster of Super Mario 64 more than anything. And while I wasn't the biggest fan of the Galaxy games, if they did a double-pack HD remaster of those titles I would certainly be tempted to run through them again.

I don't like them because I don't want games to be delayed so that a remake can get worked on.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.

For Nintendo I wouldn't mind if they did HD remakes/remasters for games that they don't want to make new entries like F-Zero.

I'm for limited remakes. I've actually said this myself. Resident Evil REmake did pretty well in terms of sales, and it was definitely the best version out there. They even remade it for DS (Deadly Silence). I've actually said that in that vein, making an Ocarina of Time HD, remastered, whatever you want to call it, version for the Wii U would be a great idea.

Many people are clamoring for a Final Fantasy VII remake/remaster/HD, and that is something I think Nintendo should think about. Not to remake or remaster every single game out there, but choose one or two fan-favorites, and give them a Wii U upgrade.

One or two though, not 5-6 or every game out there. The new games have to have priority. The remakes would have to be a labor of love, not just something to fill in gaps in the release calendar.

Like to see an HD remake of Twilight Princess. Not an HD port, an HD remake.

I would be interested in a Pokemon Colosseum/XD Gales of Darkness remake for Wii U. But not sure why they would do it lol

Speaking of which I'm really surprised at the lack of any Major Pokémon presence on the wii u so far. Even with the newer games on 3DS being in 3D, you'd think Nintendo would greenlight a Wii U battle arena game just to spur sales of the console.

Well Pokemon did have those NFC figures first. I guess that could be the "Major" presence of Pokemon on Wii U. I do think some type of Pokemon game on Wii U that can connect to 3DS would be interesting

They've already "jumped in the craze" with Legend of Zelda, but Nintendo needs to focus on new titles and leaving the "Nintendo only does rehashes" image behind. Ports/remasters/remakes will not help with that.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Nah, those are just trolls. Almost every game company does the same franchises over and over again. They just like to single out Nintendo, because they're an easy target,.

Regardless, they do do it and it's hypocritical of them to do so when they talk a big game about how innovation and unique experiences are important.

Good question. It prolly has to deal with Gamefreak and how they keep making handheld PK games without stopping.

Game Freak doesn't like consoles:

But you shouldn't be wondering about Game Freak anyway because they didn't make the games. Genius Sonority made them. What I'm curious about is why did they go from Colosseum and XD to Battle Revolution and then eventually stop making them?

I doubt it would be possible to do in the WiiUs lifetime and what the budget would have to be and licensing issues but whoever said a ff7 remake would work is spot on. That would certainly shift a lot of WiiUs

Also, as far as the Stadium games go, 6th gen basically made them obsolete. Now that the main series is in 3D, there's less of a draw to those types of games. They're basically DLC in a box, it's as if they took the Battle Frontier and sold it as a full $60.

Game Freak themselves confirmed this a few months ago:

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/10/game_freak_confirms_...

Frankly, if they're going to make ANY main series battling game on Wii U it should be a full RPG like Colosseum/XD.

Actually, taking the battle frontier and releasing it as a "stadium"-type game on the wiiu, with the draw of HD graphics sounds like something they would do.

Bloop.

No. They shouldn't.

If Nintendo decided to jump into the HD Remaster craze, everyone would start up with how Nintendo is out of ideas and that they're a rehash company as they buy Assassin's Creed Unity HD: We Did It Right This Time Edition in March.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

Eh, not really. Everything they've said on DLC, Stadium, and the Battle Frontier implies that they don't think it would sell.
