I'm not keen on seeing a lot of remastered games coming out. Not that the games aren't good enough to still be played.

It's just a question of resources: how big is Nintendo, and can they afford to split resources between new development and remakes? I'd wager that pushing remade content would take away from new development. Some people would be happy with that... I'd prefer to see them move forward and save the re-released content for Virtual Console.

"Jump" is somewhat of a strong word, but a few probably wouldn't hurt.

Depends on what type of ramke are we talking? Halo2A or Wind Waker HD style or just an uprezzed like GTA and The Last of US.

Saying the only change in GTA was resolution is pretty inaccurate. They added content (cars, weapons, songs), made the different camera perspectives detailed throughout the entire game, and enhanced the online capabilities.

Very few remakes have added more content, if any. Now TLOU? Yes that was pretty much just a resolution enhancement.

It would hurt by having to take people off the projects they are currently working on and putting them on these remake projects. I would rather Zelda U come out in 2015 than a Twilight Princess HD remake come out and have to wait another year for Zelda U.

I agree. Since TP is already playable in Wii mode, there will not be a big market for it anyway. However, I think Wind Waker: HD was partly made for the purpose of the Zelda team "learning" the hardware and the Wii U system in a real-life project, so that game wasn't such a "waste" of resources.

Right, it also came out at a time where a lot of Wii U games were suffering from delays from learning the New Hardware, which the Xbox One and PS4 are suffering from that as well now, so the Wind Waker remake made sense.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I'd say that Nintendo stl had the problem of a major lack of games. The other two consoles suffer delays but have the games in quanity to make it not a big deal.

2015 is looking pretty full to me. Maybe not compared to the Xbox One and PS4 release schedule but anything more than 1-2 games a month from one company is getting a little flooded in my opinion.

I think there are some games that could benefit from a remake but it would have to be small like two a year I'm thinking f zero GX with online and some updating and like everyone seems to want Mario Sunshine I'd say star fox assault but we've already got star fox coming next year luigis mansion would be awesome but I hope there's a new one secretly in development anyway hmmm maybe thousand year door that wouldn't require a massive lot of work and would introduce a new generation to a legendary game.

I think this is a pretty fair approach. I hate the idea of remakes in general, but remaking one or two a year isn't such a horrible idea if fans really want it.

Personally it just frustrates me that companies are obsessed with this lately. Kingdom Hearts 2.5? Persona 4 Golden? You've got to be kidding me...Not to say they aren't good games, but if a game already told it's story why retell it with more special effects and unecessary characters/sequences? It reminds me of Star Wars Special Edition. Every time I see Chie riding that moped in screenshots all I can think of is Greedo shooting first....

From a gameplay perspective I don't hate on it so much. F-Zero with online is actually a good idea if there isn't going to be any other alternative.

Even though making money is the ultimate goal for Nintendo, I'm sure they know certain games wont sell the same way a Pokemon game does. Hence why games like Devil's Third, Bayonetta 2, and Fatal Frame U exists. Nothing wrong with making a game you know wont have high sales but it still satisfys a need.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I don't think there's been a single Nintendo remake that didn't add something to the game, unless you count virtual console (which technically isn't a remake anyway). And there have been several that have actually added new levels and content, good examples are Super Mario 64 DS and any of the Pokemon remakes.

If there are any games I want remastered, they should be games that haven't been played yet by the majority of the public. Therefore I nominate F-Zero GX as remake of the year! Please?....

I don't know why some people are so against remakes/remasters or whatever you want to call them. I mean, they don't remaster bad games, so isn't it nice to be able to play a spruced up version of an already excellent game? I thought it was a real treat to be able to play Wind Waker HD, and I'm certainly looking forward to Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition once I get a PS4.

As for Nintendo itself I would love a remaster of Super Mario 64 more than anything. And while I wasn't the biggest fan of the Galaxy games, if they did a double-pack HD remaster of those titles I would certainly be tempted to run through them again.

My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."

Because not every game is all that replayable (no matter how good it is the first time), and paying a high price to play a prettier version game you already own is kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

I'd rather play new installments but if they needed to use an HD remake to drum up sales that they can gauge then sure I'll bite. The current phase on the other consoles is pretty bad though. If they do remakes I expect them to be from the gamecube era not the wii era.
