Topic: Reasons why you love/like the Wii U (an actual positive Wii U thread)

Another positive thing. I was wandering through a game shop the other day and I noticed that they had some XBOnes and PS4s setup with controllers. No contest, the Wii U Pro Controller wins.... followed by the PS4 and then XBOne last...

Great subject that's pertinent right now with the recent news. I love off tv play. A lot of people have their objections to it, but its a major bonus to me. I have a family, and its nice that I don't have to hog the tv.

I missed out on having a Wii, so the backwards compatibility has allowed me to dip into the greats like the two Mario Galaxy games and Xenoblade. While the Wii U may have had a drought of games, I never did due to the backlog of Wii games.

Also, I am already super hyped for X. Having spent a huge amount of time on Xenoblade Chronicles, I feel X could be one of the all time great games.

For me, a large expansion of the Virtual Console is all I really want right away for my Wii U.

Am I the only one who thinks that there are some people on this site and multiple others who actually secretly enjoy talking about how bad the Wii U situation is?
I refuse to comment on the gloom and doom threads on this site.
This is all I hafta say... If the Wii U doesn't pick up any major steam in 2014 and if the Wii U doesn't get people crazy hyped by E3 2014 THEN we can start worrying.

Yeah, I definately get that vibe from some posters here. Some people love to dwell on the negative, what can you do?

I won't be too worried if the Wii U doesn't take off this year, or in fact never does. I feel Nintendo will be fine long term, and so long as they keep putting out high quality games that I enjoy, I'll be happy.

The games, the controller, the eShop, the Miiverse.

-The Gamepad

-Reliability of the system

-Game & Wario (say what you want about reviews, but I love this game, it shows exactly what the Gamepad can do), Super Mario 3D World, WWHD, Pikmin 3, Earthbound (playing it for the first time ), and lots of smaller indie titles

-Upcoming games: X, DK: TF, Armikrog (this is not a Nintendo game, but it is made by the same person who made Earthworm Jim and one of my favourite games of all time, The Neverhood), Yarn Yoshi.

-Potential upcoming games: Zelda U & Metroid Prime 4 (I also hope for Star Fox, Star Fox Adventures, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, maybe a Galaxy 3 later on but these are all dreams at this point).

-The Browser (best browser on any next-gen system IMO), Miiverse, and the ability to watch Netflix (although I wish I could turn the Gamepad off while doing it) are also fantastic.

I feel the same way. It's hard to get any information across, without people judging other people as fanboy. Even if Nintendo had something big planned for later this year that would turn the situation around, people would rather have them call it quits. In otherwords, people would rather give up, instead of trying. It's redundant and contradictory.

It's only been ONE DAMN YEAR. GTF over it people. In a hypothetical 10 year generation, that ain't crap. Not to mention that plenty of us were playing Wii U, while people were criticising it, DURING the wait for other consoles.

If Xbox One and PS4 came out when the Wii U did, as they did in November, we might have some sort of comparison of how things should be. That isn't the case, so people shouldn't be acting like we can truly compare each console's situation.

EDIT: I'm not even allowed to like Smash Bros. more than Killzone, otherwise I'm a fanboy. Come off it, b****es.

2. Miiverse
3. Cool controller
4. Has a lot of good upcoming games that I want.

@SCAR392 and @MaximusMansteel The Wii U does deserve criticism but I can't help but think that there are some people who trash Nintendo just because they are jealous they can't get Nintendo quality games on their console (whether it be PC, One, PS4, PS3, 360, etc). It bothers me. Its like some people are saying, "I refuse to buy a Nintendo console but I want their IPs on the console I have. So... I'm gonna trash Nintendo as much as I can even though I secretly love them."
I also used to get called a Nintendo fanboy whenever I defended the Wii U passionately against hate.

I think the gamepad is a novel concept that still hasn't been used to its fullest potential.

With that said alot of the criticism leveraged at the company is mostly warranted. I lke Nintendo but I don't think we should let our fondness for the conpany go Nintendo fanboy defense force Overdrive,

Halo is my favorite gaming franchise but despite that I think the xbone will be my third console. (I still plan to have all three by the year's end.)

The most positive thing about the Wii U is that despite the doom threads the Wii Us people own aren't going to spontaniously combust. They still exist, they're not going to be taken away. This isn't a Virtual Boy scenario. If this is a repeat of the Gamecube then the most it means is some fantastic first party content, less shovelware and heaps of ports of Wii U games for their next console.....

Isn't less shovelware a bad thing for Nintendo as a company?

@shingi_70 Listen, man. I created this thread because I simply got tired of the Wii U bashing from various threads on this site and various other websites and just people in general. I wanted to create a thread for people who actually like the console and want to share why they like it. Nobody is being a Nintendo fanboy in this thread. The Wii U does deserve criticism. It has some pretty big flaws but its still a great console.

I never said anyone was being a fanboy in this thread, but I've seen the defense force out in full force on this and other Nintendo based websites since this news broke.

^The supporters gotta save face now that Nintendo has admitted they aren't doing well, and there's no longer any point in denying it, I guess...

but this thread was made before that and the haters are still hating the Wii U for stupid reasons because they are as stupid as the fanboys

Off TV Play (as a more handheld gamer this is God sent absolutely love it)
eShop (VC library could be improved, but I love what has come from the indies and the Big N)
Library (Wii U has games...I just don't have money to buy them )
MIiverse (The greatest gamer social network bar none)
Loving what I have played/experienced so far and I can't wait to see what is next!!!!

I was saying it doesn't impact my enjoyment of the product. The loss of it isn't something I should be annoyed about because I wasn't going to buy that sort of content anyways. Really, how does that impact me directly? It doesn't. The Wii U is just as enjoyable a product as it would have been at #1 as it is when it's holding its **** together at third

I find it that more often than not I mostly dislike Nintendo based on how Zealous their fanbase can be. Its little things like complaining that the current market is stuff like sports games and shooters, when Nintendo themslves cultivated that market on consoles during the Nintendo 64 era, or saying that the Wii U sales indicated that the other two systems would move poorly.

Plus so much goal shifting. First we had to wait till Mario, Zelda and the software to pick up but now one year on the market isn't enough and we have to wait till this holiday and for the third parries to announce games that so obviously aren't coming.

As per thread rules I think The Wonderful 101 is the most creative mainstream game on consoles last year.
