Since we have the Gamecube controller adapter, wouldn't it be nice to have Gamecube Virtual Console. Before you start writing me hate mail, hear me out

Nintendo releases gamecube controller adapter, earn $
Releases GCN VC earn $
Kicks of GCN VC with Smash bros Melee earns $
The next smash bros for Wii U earns $

Those are what I think would happen if nintendo does this

The only reason youd get hate mail is because this has been discussed a thousand times before haha. Yes its a great idea. No i dont see it in our future just because of nintendos history of not doing what sounds like the right idea

Nintendo doesn't do what brings in profit. Nintendo, like every other business, does what brings in the MOST profit. They do what they see is best for them, and if they find something else that brings in even more profit, then they will do that instead.

In other words, if they see GCN VC bringing in more profit than their current efforts then they will do it. If not, it's unlikely.

I don't see why we wouldn't see this in the future. Both of the console competition have already done this, and really Nintendo has nothing to lose by doing so. I'd even settle for more GC re-releases like Wind Waker. There's too high demand for GC games to ignore it...

Because selling remakes for $50 are easy enough to make and will probably outsell an under-advertised Virtual Console release by a lot. It'd really only be worth it for games like Chibi-Robo, where the fanbase is too small to make a remake or sequel viable. Nintendo doesn't have a lot of those games...

I don't think there's a lot of Gamecube games that would be profitable enough for a remake that they haven't done already. Sunshine gets pretty mixed reception, Luigi's Mansion is somewhat niche (although because of the sequel, it might be a bit more popular now), Wind Waker and Metroid Prime have already been done, and most of Mario Kart Double Dash's levels have been remade in other Mario Kart games so the odds of a remake are basically zero. In terms of big games, that leaves us with Melee, and I'm kind of skeptical on the concept of a Smash Bros. remake. Most of these games are probably better off with ports.

They're all popular brands, and if they can add enough new, I'm sure enpough people would buy it. It doesn't need to sell Gangbusters. Wind Waker HD apparently has yet to sell a million units, for instance. That's still a lot more than what a VC port would get, though.

That still only gives us what, Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion? The others aren't related to sales, so they're still better off with VC ports.

Wario World? Double Dash? Melee? You really think those games would be best given away for $10-$15 as is? Most of those games could be easily remastered and sold for full price, and nobody would bat an eye. Besides, it's more about awareness. A lot of Nintendo's fans aren't even aware of these games, either because they're too young, or were too young when the Gamecube was around. It would be much easier for them to know the game is available for them to purchase if its at retail, and as far as many of them are concerned, it's practically a new game. And don't even get me started on how underadvertised VC is. From my assessment, putting them on VC would be like putting them out to pasture...

Wario World isn't a huge game for Nintendo, and if they want to bring back Wario platformers they'd be better off making a completely new game than remaking an old one no one cares about. Double Dash's levels have already been remade, so there's no sense in remaking the actual game. Melee probably stands the best chance out of these three, but for some reason it just hasn't happened, so IDK. I don't think any of these games really benefit from that kind of exposure.

Melee hasn't been remade because it'll detract from Smash 4. Obviously....

Of course making a new game might be the better choice. A new game should always take precedence for a company. I'm just saying, if they had a choice between a VC release and a remake/HD Remaster, remaking the original would be better, since honestly, I doubt most people even knew there was a Wario World despite Wario being a popular brand. It'd sell on name alone.

And Double Dash's gameplay hasn't been used since Double Dash. I can see people being interested in it to see the aspects made the game unique.

I'm just perfectly fine buying old GC games and playing them with my Wii and a Gamecube controller.
I don't want this VC.

Release something that I want = earn $

Why does everyone keep using this argument?

I can kind of see why people fall for this fallacy, it's hard for people to imagine their likes and dislikes being a minority opinion.
