Topic: Extension of the Premium Wii U Promotion?

Man, I've received a ton of money back from this promotion. At least enough for a couple full-price releases (I buy everything on eShop). This is going to be a major bummer for me, but maybe the Club Nintendo stuff can fill the void.

Unless they step up their game with club Nintendo, probably not...sadly. I agree this promotion was amazing though. I don't buy that many digital releases but I still got a few games for free because of it.

I'm ok with it ending. Very few companies just give you free money and the fact that Nintendo did it for two years is pretty impressive. I'll be buying some eshop cards soon to make my final push on the service but I really feel that it was a great bonus and nothing more.

So I can just buy some credit on the Estore and that counts towards the Digital Deluxe promotion? I didn't know that! (Good because i'm having trouble finding things to purchase)

I would like it, but that's because i'm digital only for my Wii U.

No you can't. You have to buy something.

Just saw the announcement messasge notice in my eShop in box 12/11 so it looks officially dead now.

I think its stupid for them to end it now, not very happy holidays spirit, but at least they sent out the notice.

I need to spend $12 to get another $5 credit. Maybe Shantae will make it before years end and I can use the credit to buy armillo on sale for $4 until Jan 1. And Pushmo World. Too bad Sword n Soldiers isnt making it out this year, thats Day 1 for me.

The credit lasts until next year I think. After this month, you can't earn any more credit

Yes, you can't earn any more points after this month, and then you have to redeem your codes by a certain date. After that, the money is yours to keep until you spend it.

To be fair, you were more detailed than I was.

I saw the notice in the eshop too @rjejr, very disappointing indeed. All we can really hope for is an alternative scheme that's just as good though I don't think that'll happen despite Xbox recently having a much improved rewards program. I've actually rebought a few retail titles including Tropical Freeze for convenience and extra Club Nintendo Stars (while still keeping my physical copy) thanks to this promotion though it looks like next year my digital purchases will return to only Virtual Console (if that service improves and starts releasing games I actually want to buy like Mario Kart Super Circuit, FE The Sacred Stones, Mario Kart 64, etc.)

@Grumblevolcano I'm ok w/ it ending as long as they finally release something to take it's place. In their defense X1 and PS4 require $50 yearly fees to play online and Wii U is still free, but they should have something similar to PS+ and Live. I'v been advocating for "Nintendo eSelects" for at least a year now. 1 free VC game a month and maybe an indie, and better sales prices for members. I had PS+ for 3 years and never owned any Xbox so my thinking does lean more that way. but Nineod should have some digital program focusing on the eShop. Probably next gen though.

We should hit Nintendo up with a twitter #operationDeluxePromotion cause they obviously listen to others. [/sarcasm]

They should extend it forever. Gives people a reason to buy digital. Theres no way a digital copy should cost anywhere near the same price as a physical copy. And most of the time you can find the physical copy cheaper.

I've gotten $70 back from this promotion so far, so it'll be a real shame to see it go.

I would always buy the points cards at the Wal-Mart I work at, for the 10% employee discount, then go buy some eshop stuff for the 10% deluxe promotion, too. That was great! Also, Is was great when Mario Kart 8 came out, I got that, a free download of Pikmin 3, and the 3 $5 promotion codes it gave me, too, just for buying MK 8!

Guess I'll buy whatever else interest me before this thing ends. Right now I'm looking at Bayonetta 1 and 2, New Super Luigi U DLC, Mario Kart Super Circuit, and maybe something else.

my friend code is 1306-7465-1022 and my nickname is Vonboy.
