I still don't believe in the new console rumors. None of the sources are reliable, and they have no reason to put out a new console just yet. Even if I'm proven wrong, though, I don't care. I just got a PS3, my 360 still works, there are still games for me to play on the Wii. I have absolutely no reason to upgrade within the next 5 years, nor can I afford to do so.

i dunno the xbox.rumors a few month ago by Paul thurrrott were pretty credible.

But I'm expecting the new xbox to be at CES. beyond the point they will be showing off windows 8 and windows phone. this ismircosofts last year at the show and what's the best way too go out.

beyond that i expect kinect 2.0 to be shown for a late 2012 release.

It is pretty funny to see some ones here fully focused on the controller, and thinking that everything about a game depends on it (and at the same time defending the 2D side scrolling games as top gaming tech in 2012). Console games are still far far behind PC ones, and these dont need anything else than an old keyboard and a mouse (of course you can also use 200$ flight controls, driving wheels, VR helmets, 3D glasses, 3D globlets, TRIR, multimonitors, multitouch MFDs, voice commanding, etc), and there is still people that thinks Nintendo is innovative with the controls ...

I want sonic adventure 3.

The cheese grater ridgedy' D-pad for me only becomes uncomfortable after long sessions of playing something like Super Street Fighter II HD remix(for ex). I ended up with a crazy blister on my inner left thumb. Too many Hadoukens with the PS3's D-pad will guarantee you a trip to Blisterfied thumb town. But that aside, at least it 'works' great. Something that the XBOX 360 d-pad can't seem to do...

And I think the Playstation's D-pad design was just to be 'different' or to look unique and cool regardless from the packt even if it ended up feeling akward. lol

I have a feeling that this year isn't going to be a very good game year.. I could be too much personal now, but still. I'll see in 6 months.

Every E3 for the last few years Nintendo has announced the big guns for the year's second half, and considering what they've got coming for the first half, I'm definitely excited.

I predict Sony will apologize (again) to the gaming community.

Wow, if you're excited by the already announced stuff, then I bet your mind will be blown away by what will be announced then. Surprise us, Nintendo! E3 is always about surprises!

It's about simplicity and accessibility. Consoles have always been popular because they don't require expensive hardware upgrades every 2 years (graphics cards, RAM, CPU, etc.), and a controller is just easier to use than a multi-button keyboard and mouse combo.

I've tried playing on a PC using a keyboard and mouse, and I just couldn't get into it. I prefer a game controller cause it's comfortable to hold and I know what buttons do what. I just use an Xbox 360 controller for Steam and Games For Windows.

To each his/her own I guess.

Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Littlebigplanet, Uncharted, Twisted Metal, Resistance, Modnation, Sly Cooper, and Infamous, just to mention a few? Really? Littlebigplanet alone is a classic!

problem is Sony has exhausted most of those franchise. alot of over saturation. sly Cooper has my attention though.

Also no new heavenly sword makes me mad.
