Why do you want to do that?

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Let's you have many friends that come over that play on your Wii U. You suddenly have one move away and another that wants to make an account. Or maybe you just want access to twelve different save files.

Regardless, I think it's a pretty good question. I don't know the answer, myself, however.

Best thread ever

I'd actually like to know this too. My best friend made an account on my system because he will not be getting one anytime soon. Still, in a year or two, he probably will end up getting one. I mean, I doubt I'll ever use up the number of accounts limited to a system, but it would be nice to be able to remove an account I no longer need.

Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV
Peace!

I hope so, but as I have on my Xbox, I'll just make a Guest account for most people to use :)

When you delete a user you have two different options. You can delete the local user on your console as well as the associated Nintendo Network ID, or you can choose to just delete the user, but leave the NNID. Either way, though, the NNID will not be usable on another system. (Believe me, I've tried.) If you just delete the user, you have the ability to create another user on that same console and then associate the NNID with that new user, but, as has been reported, Nintendo Network IDs are permanently attached to a console (at this time, hopefully), so you can't log in with the ID under a different console. If you try, it will just say "This Nintendo Network ID is associated with another console" (or something along those lines).

Likewise, if you delete the NNID, it still won't allow you to create a new user on a different console with that Nintendo Network ID--it just says that the NNID has been deleted.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I've tried so many methods to try to get my Nintendo Network ID off of my first Wii U, so I'm kind of an expert, sadly. :-(

@FiveDigitLP

Thanks for the help. So if you delete the NNID, can you create it back on the same console with the same name later?

If you delete a user but not the NNID, you can later create a user with the same name, same Mii, etc. and then associate that user with the old Nintendo Network ID.

But if you actually go through the steps of deleting the user AND the Nintendo Network ID, then I am pretty sure you will not be able to use it again, even on the same console. I haven't actually tried this yet (because it wouldn't have been useful to me), but I'm pretty confident about it.

And really, unless you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you will never use that Nintendo Network ID again and/or you are paranoid about Nintendo storing any online data associated with that ID (such as Miiverse posts, friends, previous downloads, etc.), then I don't really see a reason to delete a Nintendo Network ID--especially if you consider that it's likely Nintendo will eventually make it available for you to use a NNID on other systems. Also, keep in mind that when you delete it, the name is still taken, so the only benefit to deleting the ID is just to ensure no one has access to your online records.

fortunatly this is something that will change, it was mentioned eventually they will change it to allow you to carry over the id to a different console

The NNID is linked to your country. You cannot change the country for a given NNID. So I was interested to know if you can delete it and then re-create it back one with another country.

Does anyone know how to delete a nintendo network Id without deleting the user with it. From what I've seen it's not possible

Currently playing: Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Current backlog: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (part way through) and the Unfinished Swan (unplayed).

Ah. Yeah, you can't actually recreate the NNID. You can only create a new user and then log in using your previous NNID.

No, I have not seen that it is possible to delete a NNID without deleting the user as well, sadly.
