Pretty cool, if a bit short and lacking in hearts and rupees. I hope he can continue the job! It has great potential.

@VGP: Did he ever get all those bugs out of OoT? Game looks pretty cool, but not worth the time if it's as buggy as it was in that video.

I really don't see how that would work at all. It would be weird fighting 2-D Enemies in a 3-D world. Plus that screenshot that they showed looked like the game would be first-person. Yuck. I don't like this.

Well if they can work out the kinks that could be something really special. I'd certainly buy it

I forget just how old you are, but you obviously haven't played Wolfenstein 3D or any other such games of the time. Back then, 3D games had 2D enemies. That was normal. And it worked! You should at least try the demo for the 3D Zelda before you pass judgement. It plays surprisingly well, considering.

The 2D OOT looked cool. A few weird little quirks (what did he shoot at after he got the slingshot?), but still a good concept. I was just wondering how OOT would look in retro graphics.

Hey! How about a 64-bit Twilight Princess?

I'm 17 so I'm not as familiar with some old-school games as you probably are. That being said, I've always loved whatever old-school games I could get my hands on, and the original Zelda is one of my favorites. I guess that's why I don't like seeing it being poorly rendered into 3-D. Then again I haven't played the demo

Yes. Its been something I've been thinking about for the last ten years - what would it be like if they remade the NES game with modern 3D graphics, even if its just the dungeons. Keep the layout identical to the original game but change the graphics completely (so that its not just the original NES graphics in 3D like in the link above). Steps could make things look more interesting with raised sections to break up the flat looking dungeon rooms of the original - just as long as they don't affect Link's ability to attack and be attacked.

Study the map and imagine what could be done without changing the layout of the rooms.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

@Kid_A: Well, you need to at least try the demo before you judge! I'm 20, so I don't really have all THAT much on you. I never played those games when they released, either. Just played Wolfenstein 3D for the first time on PSN a couple months ago, actually. But I am familiar with the concept of 2D sprites in a 3D environment, and I think it works just fine! And this demo wasn't "poorly rendered," it was rendered perfectly for what it was intended to be! An impressive job, really.

I like the concept of 2D sprites in 3D. The demo looks neat, but it won't run on my computer (like pretty much every other game ever made).

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.
