I was looking at my calendar, then I realized on February 12th, Super Mario Bros. 3 turns an iconic 20 years old. Let's have a birthday countdown with looks back at your favorite SMB3 moments, levels, and more!
Awesome! I've been trying to finish it in the past week or so, but it's really challenging. My favorite levels were probably the huge levels in world 4.
On a seperate note, I want to ask if any of you know where I could find my Wii friend code. I've been looking for it in my Wii Settings, but I can't find it. :3
If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

Books I'm reading: "Uncle Tom's Cabin"
Ah, SMB3. So many of my favorite elements were added in that installment (Raccoon Mario, the Koopalings, etc.). I'm not sure, but it may have been the first game I ever played (That or the first SMB). It's such an incredible game...
Oy, i'm old. This came out during the second half of my freshman year in high school!
I was just actually doing a full playthrough - no warps - of this recently (at the same time as i was running through NSMBWii), but must have accidentally deleted my save state when i was around World 5 or 6. D'oh!
Out of all the Mario games I would say Super Mario Brothers 3 is still my favorite. Introduction of the Koopa kids also the different worlds and ships. The raccoon was awesome because you could fly and use your tail as a weapon against enemies and also break bricks. The different suits you got in the game. The leaf for a raccoon, the frog suit to swim better, the hammer brother suit, and the tanooki suit. The tanooki suit is my favorite suit because you look like a raccoon and can fly, not to mention turn into a statue for protection for a few seconds. Also you had the P wing for those difficult levels you could fly through the entire thing or use the cloud to skip that level. Some people still remember the Giant World which they showed in the movie the Wizard. A great game for all players from beginners to experts. The game play and fun factor is amazing. Overall this game is outstanding and it's one of the best NES games and Mario games.
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
I think SMB3 will always be my favorite Mario game because it's arguably the weirdest and it kind of set the format for the latter games.
EXPERIENCE MORE.... Arcade-quality graphics, awesome sound, "turbo-charged" game play, exciting TurboChip games... It's the incredible Turbo Genesis 64 Entertainment SuperSystem Experience. There's more fun, more challenge, and more excitment ready for you today!
Started a new playthrough last night; only had time to get to World 3.
I always think it's interesting when i play these older games (particualrly NES) how i'm able to remember all the liitle tricks and hidden things, or timings for enemies or jumps in a game despite not having played them for years.
Well, happy early eighteenth birthday, Digiki; and happy early twentieth birthday, Super Mario Bros. 3. I too am trying to go through the game without using the whistle. I'm stuck in this one part of World 6 in Super Mario All-Stars, and I can't seem to be able to beat it (and I don't want to use the two whistles that I have in my inventory). But, as the old saying goes: "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again". I will persevere.
