I have to agree that singleplayer in FSA was kind of boring, that’s why I played through the whole thing with a friend. There was only the two of us though, so we got two Links each :3

Also, Four Swords was pretty fun too. Ever tried tossing a pot at whomever you’re playing with? That’s good fun right there.

I have a Backloggery now! Nothin' fancy, but feel free to add me as a friend.

I've only played FS on the GBA. It was fun, but a bit short.

FSA is one of the best party games on the Cube. I have never played FSA alone, though. It just doesn't seem that appealing to me when played alone; that game was built around multiplayer and cooperation.

Im currently playing it since its the only Zelda game I never played.

I can only play single since I only own one GBA, but I will try to convince some friends to search for their ol good ones and bring them to me.

I'm about to start playing it soon, as it too is the only Zelda i haven't played (finally finished Majora's a couple months back, which i thought was the only Zelda i had left to play but i had forgotten about FSA), but quite a few games to get through first (incl NSMBW and Assasin's Creed II; i also plan to finally play SMS again for the first time since it released).

Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

Playing Four Swords Adventures solo will work and still be fun, but I found the game to be **much** more enjoyable as a multiplayer title.

Try checking local yard sales, Craigslist, and kijiji for old GBA systems. I was able to pick up 3 extra systems and GameCube-GBA cables for under $20 -- entirely worth the cost if you have friends willing to play and want a top-notch party game for four people.

@ejamer

Exactly, I picked up some cheap GBAs and cables a couple years back for this as well. My only problem is that most of those GBAs are the early models (pre-SP) with no backlight, so I have to make sure all but one players is near a bright lamp in order to see properly. :/ I need to upgrade those, even SPs are so cheap now.

So I've never played this before. Is it possible to play single- or multi-player without a GBA, using only a GC controller? And is it worth it to only play single-player?

You can play it in single-player with just a GameCube controller, but if you want to do multiplayer then every player will need their own GBA. It's still worth playing in single-player in my opinion - it's at its best with a group of friends but it's still a fantastic game to play on your own.

Man I love this game. I started a thread about it in the Wii U section, because this game would be PERFECT for Wii U. I really hope they make a new one.

Other than with friends, it's nice to play with a date too provided that he or she is a gamer too (but owning a GBA too? Unlikely in this day).

It's good nough in Single player. In fact, there are somethings you can do in the single player that you can't do in multiplayer. At least in singleplayer you don't have to worry about who get what and who goes where...in fact, multiplayer is only good if you have friends whom you can easily coordinate with.

And wasn't there supposed to be a sequel on the DS that got cancelled so they could work on $h!t on a stick, A.K.A. Phantom Hourglass?

omg they were gonna make a sequal but instead make phantom hour glass _ ima go play ps2 or psp or ps1 and go on gamespot f*ck ninty

I came into this expecting it to be as good as FSA and was sorely dissapointed, but the place that was unlocked after I beat the game is proving to actually be lots of fun. It's not just collecting rupees anymore.

You shouldn't have done that.You can't expect a remake of a GBA title that came alongside another release to be the same quality as a stand-alone Gamecube title that you paid for. It's ludicrous! DX

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Actually I think I'll change my tone. After I beat the game once, and found out there were gold keys to be collected, it seems to be getting better.

It's the closest we'll ever get to "New Legend of Zelda"

EDIT: Why the hell was I talking about Four Swords in the first place when this topic is about Four Swords Adventures?

I loved the crap out of that game but it's a little hard to play through the bits with the Moon Pearls and want to keep going.

@pocket_arsenal
Nice title. Now I imagine playing as Miis in Link costumes.

On topic, the game's good in both single and multi I say, but multiplayer is definitely a much, much better experience. The biggest problem with that is having the right people to play with, things can get really competitive really fast between everyone being greedy and killing each other, but the memories from the game are far, far fonder than they are regret.

If you can, try to get a multiplayer game up. It's extremely fun.

I beat this back when it came out and hadn't really played it since I don't believe until recently I started a new playthrough (by myself of course). Made it to the Village of the Blue Maiden, in which I beat the level, but kind of quit frustrated since that level took me a really long time (I can't remember any of this stuff since it's been years since I've touched it). I also have had yet another Zelda TP playthrough going and it's been taking up all my game time now so I haven't touched FSA again for about 2 weeks. I want to make msyelf play through the rest of the way eventually again.
