I just want to know peoples opinions on this.
Konami made all the classic arcade, Nes, and Gameboy games along with a few DS and GBA games based of the newer version of the show
Ubisoft has the rights to TMNT now and so far has made or is making TMNT Turtles in time re-shelled, TMNT smash up, and the movie based one.

Konami, because their games have limited voice acting. :3

I personally wished Konami still had the rights to the series because then we probably could've seen all 3 Turtles beat 'em ups on the VC by now.

speaking of TMNT, why did they decide to skip wii-ware with the turtles in time remake?

first it was 360 & Wii only, now it's 360 & PS3 only.. Hope we get the original to make up for it at least..

Smash-Up may end up being good, but it'll be because of the Brawl team, not because of Ubisoft. Reshelled may end up being good, but it'll be because it's a remake of a Konami game, not because of Ubisoft. The one original TMNT game Ubisoft's made that I played was pretty bland. In summary, Ubisoft sucks. When I rule the world, I will give Konami permanent rights to the TMNT franchise.

I despise Ubisoft. They ruined the Turtles games, (which means I like Konami more) and they are responsible for ALOT of the shovelware on Wii and DS.

I got Re-Shelled...It plays well and online is fun but there are a few notable glitches that I have seen but their not too bad. The Graphics are nice as well which is probably one of the main reasons it isn't on wiiware.

I think you all know what I'm going to say; for I relish the day that we get the remaining Turtle games on the VC! Be it during or after September 2009 when TMNT Smash up comes out; or sometime in 2010 or much later! I don't care how long I'd have to wait; but I still wish they would just hurry up and release the darn games on the Virtual Console!

So yes, isn't it obvious... Konami ruled back then when they had the TMNT license! And I'm not saying Ubisoft sucks; I just wish they'd tell us that the origonal Turtles in Time was coming to the VC... if there's the ReShelled version already out on the stinking XBox360!

So I end this by saying all Wii lovers & anti-Xbox360 haters unite... for one day we will stop complaining and get our precious TMNT games on the Wii's VC!

Personally I cant stand any of the Ubisoft Turtles games. I was disappointed with TMNT I thought it would be more like the older Ninja Turtle games, an action beat them up game but instead it was more of an action adventure game. TMNT Smash-Up was like a wanna be Super Smash Bros and I dont like the Smash Bros games to begin with so I really didnt like TMNT Smash-Up. Turtles in Time: Reshelled was ok but it all it really was was a 3D remake of Konami's Turtles in Time. THe graphics were ok I person perfered the cell shaded graphics and I was kinda disappointed in the fact that it was a remake of the Arcade Version or the extra level and the extra bosses that were in the SNES Turtles in Time werent in the game at all.

Truthfully I wish that Konami would get the rights back so that way we could get TMNT 2: The Arcade Game, TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project and Turtles in Time on the VC, Is it because Ubisoft has the TMNT rights that TMNT on the NES VC costs 600 points where as other games only cost 500?

Konami.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

if konami made terrible games for the turtles franchise, then i would understand the shift to ubisoft. but, as we all know, konami made some of their most memorable games with them.
so i just can`t see why the license was given to ubisoft.

@my_point_is: uh... because they (ubisoft) paid the most for it (use of license)?(not really a question)

My first reaction was: "what ? Ubi made Turles games ?" so there you have it Konami for sure.

There could be several reasons why Ubisoft now has the TMNT videogame license.

1) Like sykotek said Ubisoft could have offered the TMNT company more money than Konami when the contract ran out on Konami.

2) Konami did not renew the contract when it ran out and Ubisoft picked it up than

3) Whoever owns TMNT decide to go with Ubisoft instead of renewing the contract with Konami when it ran out.

Basically in the end for whatever reason it seemed to the TMNT company that Ubisoft was the better deal this time rather than Konami.

Whatever the reason was, overall Konami by far as of yet not one Ubisoft game hasn't been below average to outright rotten. The only semi-decent release was on the GC and stuff, and that was only after doing the first level or so to unlock the old Turtles in Time game.

Ubisoft makes mostly pretty poor games with just enough decent stuff to keep them from having to merge or eat it along with the large levels of low budget trash like the Imagine and animals that end in Z series garbage.

I'm going to guess Konami got stupid and didn't bid proper for the TMNT license or gave it up. The company on the whole has been getting considerably dumber over the years since the 8/16bit era so a bad decision like that isn't surprising. They seem to mostly care about these days only DDR, Castlevania, spinoffs of those and little else.
