Topic: The World Ends With You no longer getting iOS support

Title says all. When you update to iOS 8, TWEWY will no longer work. Can confirm.
It basically gets stuck on the initializing screen at the beginning of the load-up.

For this we and the development team deeply apologize. We can only suggest that you play the game on an iOS 7 or earlier device at this time. If have purchased the game recently and would like a refund or reimbursement you will need to contact Apple Support as they would act as the retailer in this case. Since we are not the retailer and simply the publisher we would be unable to provide a refund under any circumstances. We apologize for the inconveneince. Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.

Considering that Square Enix charges such a high premium for their releases, this is completely unacceptable. At least Capcom keeps their apps updated to work on the latest system OS. This seriously scares me from buying basically anything on iOS at this point, since I don't have a guarantee of keeping anything.

TL;DR: Don't buy iOS games from Square Enix. They will randomly drop support when they no longer feel like they can make money from it.

This is very troubling news, since unlike computers, iOS stuff can't be worked on by the community...

I thought they were investigating the problem, unless the info on the TWEWY iOS page has been like that for months.

Emulate it on PC, iOS or any other device. If you paid for it, you have the right to play it.

EDIT: I just gave a look at the Android version. It doesn't work with Lollipop. At least there is equality LOL

It's as if Square Enix got tired of screwing over their console fanbase and decided to mess with their mobile fanbase too (as if the terrible Chrono Trigger port wasn't enough).

Remember when people tried to convince me that TWEWY on iOS was a good thing?

At least Lollipop is open source so the community can patch it themselves, which I believe they already have.

But yeah, I guess this is +1 reason to not buy JRPGs on your phone, as if there weren't already enough.

And that's why I stay away from iPhones.

Also, doesn't Android allow you to revert back to an older version if you don't like the new one, or did I hear wrong?

With this and the San Andreas update, I don't like the mobile market one bit.

No but seriously, taking away the dual screens really misses the point of the game and that alone annoys me.

Android will let you do basically anything. It's about as open as Windows.
